  1. I thought we might look at him as a slider until I read a comparison with Watts, in the 'lack of appetite for the contest' sense. Just a recollection of a random comment, not gospel.
  2. Complete stab in the dark. Expect about 0 out of 4. 29 - Joel Garner (others Baker, Spargo, Hayes) 31 - Spargo (others Baker, MacPherson, Stoddart) 36 - Krueger (as a Cripps type mid) (others Baker, Petrucelle, someone no one's ever heard of) 47 - Baker (others Fritsch, Answerth, someone no one's ever heard of)
  3. Just butting in here - I would, but only because of the forward option. If he was a pure ruck, I'd pass (also on Coleman-Jones). I could see us taking a Ballard or Brander if either happened to slide (unlikely) but no other KPPs. The rest will be players who are either mids or capable of running through the middle. If they don't love a contest, they wont get picked, no matter how much run they might provide. I think they'll look for a small forward (which i include in the capable of running through the middle brigade). I doubt we'd pick up more than one player under 180cms. I could see us getting Spargo if medically cleared and I'm definitely expecting at least one from the clouds. Some of the players predicted to go in the 30's around our picks I don't think we'd take - eg Houlahan. Also wanting to put it on record how wrong I expect to be, as Taylor has so far surprised with each draft and isn't afraid of high risk, high reward picks. I'll take a stab at the four picks shortly just to prove it.
  4. Wasn't sure where to put this, but here's Brett Anderson's SEN Mock Draft: https://www.sen.com.au/news/2017/11/20/brett-andersons-2017-afl-mock-draft/ Interesting he has us taking Oscar Baker. I'm expecting some left field picks from Taylor as has been the case in the past.
  5. It certainly wont hurt him to ramp up his running if he's in the rehab group for a while. Needs to take it up a few levels to start running both ways.
  6. Port still have 5 or 6 picks after pick 45 for this year's draft. It makes some sort of sense that they've picked up all these FAs and DFAs rather than take more picks in the hundreds. What doesn't make sense is how they found themselves in this situation in the first place. And gee, another year for the Toump
  7. It looks like we've spoken to him so I would be interested to hear from track watchers @ChaserJ or anyone? Is he a possibility to add to our midfield depth at 47? There's a bit of speculation on BF that St Kilda want both Andrew and Hamish.
  8. Lever 9 Balic 20 (if he wants the same number). I wouldn't be surprised if Maynard and maybe J Smith had an upgrade. NB You have 38 as vacant, but unless Tim Smith seeks an upgrade as well, it's taken.
  9. As it's their 5th preseason, I think they're in the 5th year bracket but happy to be corrected and subtract browny points if that's the case.
  10. Players attending on Monday but not required to (AFAIK): Viney, Salem, Kent, Frost, Pedo, JKH, Hunt, Frost. Jones is usually always back earlier than required but (according to BF) is O/S or just back.
  11. I thought Jake was really looking the goods a year or two ago. Last season he was very ordinary. Not sure who you're talking about with 'take a speccy or two' but clearly you're confusing him with someone else.
  12. Love the bloke and hope like anything he gets a good run at it. He deserves every success. Don't care who he plays for, I'll cheer him on regardless (maybe not against us). Go you good thing JT
  13. The AFL Website Fixture commentary says the clubs with the worst fixture in order are: 1. Gold Coast 2. Melbourne 3. Sydney It gives me license to continue whinging as I like to think our improvement over recent years, our watchability and well the whole darn vibe should translate to a improved deal on the fixture, not the same old graveyard shifts and only 3 games where we can make a decent amount of cash - while teams like Carlton, Essendon, Freo and Saints are rewarded.
  14. We've had one home game against Essendon in 12 years. I don't think it's to do with clash jumpers. I vaguely recall a poster mentioning something about a contract between Essendon and either AFL or us that gives them all the home games. I thought it was something to do with Ettihad. Can anyone elaborate? If so, when does this BS end?
  15. The article says he's training with Melbourne team mates, not with MFC, so probably just keeping fit if another opportunity presents.
