Changes vs Western Bulldogs
I thought Smith was playing well until plonked in the forward line. I don't think you can expect him to nail his first game in the forward line with sweet fa preparation.

POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 16
Shout out to the inclusions: Stretch - looked like he belonged and hope he gets an opportunity to cement his place. Garlett - welcome back Jeff. Covered a lot of ground and was dangerous in front of goals. Frost - I queried his inclusion but he had a great game against weak opposition. One howler handpass, but otherwise a very solid game. Looks to have grown as a player.

The Need for Outside Midfielders
I suspect Sydney wouldn't release him unless he was shot. If we managed to come up with pick 12-18 somehow, I'd rather use it in the draft or on someone else. By Round 24, Hannebury may demonstrate his value as more around 58 (if he can actually get back on the park). Would be keen to hear from someone with groin/calf insight - @Webber

Is Jeffy Garlett just trade bait now?
I'd like to see the club put as much effort into pressing the right buttons to get the magic out of Jeff as they do with their box-ticking at VFL level. We've all seen him hot and cold and getting back in the team in the past hasn't been on the back of VFL form. He's also switched from being hot and cold and vice versa in the space of a game. I'd rather see him crumbing than ANB any day of the week. I'd also hate to see him lost to the habits/behaviours/journeys/narrative pulava. Whilst acknowledging my bias towards having him in the team and hoping there aren't other reasons for his omissions, I see so many occasions where he'd make something of nothing in our (occasionally dysfunctional) forward line.

Still one of the easiest teams to score against
It's a bit more than that. The opposition clog up the forward line to dry up our scoring options. We haven't figured a way around it.

Yep and looks like Mum still cuts his hair.

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
It's actually dead easy and I've done it many times. You drive up to the underground carpark next to the shop. You tell the dude on the gate that you want to go to the Demon Shop and he says 'No worries, park right here.' .

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - AUSTIN BRADTKE
A caller on SEN rang in and said he'd watched Austin play Under 12s, U13s and U14s and said he was as good as the Kings. Whopping grain of salt alert, but.....sounds pretty exciting!

Andrew Gaff
From The AFL website: McGovern has put talks on hold, probably until season's end, while Gaff is reportedly being targeted by five Melbourne clubs.

Dom Tyson
I think his disposal has improved this year to some extent. I haven't been a fan, but I would prefer him in the guts over Harmes. What on earth is he doing on on a wing?

Brendan McCartney - Moved to the bench
Sounds all plausible. It could also be just a case of McCartney being more suited to arresting the possibility of players throwing in the towel again at ground level. Appreciate your feedback and anything further that may arise. Cheers

Would be interested in the views of @Leoncelli_36 on this matter

2017 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Just butting in here - I would, but only because of the forward option. If he was a pure ruck, I'd pass (also on Coleman-Jones). I could see us taking a Ballard or Brander if either happened to slide (unlikely) but no other KPPs. The rest will be players who are either mids or capable of running through the middle. If they don't love a contest, they wont get picked, no matter how much run they might provide. I think they'll look for a small forward (which i include in the capable of running through the middle brigade). I doubt we'd pick up more than one player under 180cms. I could see us getting Spargo if medically cleared and I'm definitely expecting at least one from the clouds. Some of the players predicted to go in the 30's around our picks I don't think we'd take - eg Houlahan. Also wanting to put it on record how wrong I expect to be, as Taylor has so far surprised with each draft and isn't afraid of high risk, high reward picks. I'll take a stab at the four picks shortly just to prove it.

2017 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Wasn't sure where to put this, but here's Brett Anderson's SEN Mock Draft: https://www.sen.com.au/news/2017/11/20/brett-andersons-2017-afl-mock-draft/ Interesting he has us taking Oscar Baker. I'm expecting some left field picks from Taylor as has been the case in the past.

Jack Trengove signed by Port Adelaide as a Delisted Free Agent
Port still have 5 or 6 picks after pick 45 for this year's draft. It makes some sort of sense that they've picked up all these FAs and DFAs rather than take more picks in the hundreds. What doesn't make sense is how they found themselves in this situation in the first place. And gee, another year for the Toump
