  1. We need a Joel Corey, James Kelly type, big bodied mid fielders to help Jones. I agree with posters about Sewell for next year, he'd be good, but not at the cost of any picks, not for a bloke that age. It will take an exceptional deal for us to part with any of our first 3 picks, we aren't a charity case. I don't mind the idea of bringing Simon Black in as a mid field or assistant coach and actually play him aswell, then our players can learn first hand what it takes. Plus, Black isn't done, he'd have another year, the bloke is a gun.
  2. Aish is too outside for mine, far too outside. We are going to need players who can go in and get the ball. Sheed would be a lock for mine. Trade our priority pick. Look at Dumont, Battesby or Dunstan for our pick 19/20 selction.
  3. Nat Fyfe my favorite player, wish we had one like Fyfe, he does everything.
  4. Umm, we cannot play against ourselves, can we? Or do we every week, lol. We are the worst side in the competition this year.
  5. This is one of my favorite dooozies, hahaha.. Oh dear!! Long live the KING!
  6. You are off your head, we are not going to Tassie.
  7. Judging by today, we need more than pick 1! And we think things can't get worse, well what if Frawley leaves and Dawes and Clark don't come good, perish the thought.
  8. If Peter Jackson wasn't at our club, we'd be screwed, at least Jackson is working to fix these issues. Neeld was sacked because we were going ordinary and Jackson sort to fix the board and we haven't got a board in place yet. So give PJ time, he knows his stuff, if Paul Roos is impressed, then we are on the right track.
  9. Gee there are some dooozies in this thread, LOL.
  10. Think it's an appropriate time to bump this thread. Can we say that we got it wrong yet?
  11. He has been leading by example for years now and was our only logical option for captain. It's a joke that Trengove got anywhere near the captaincy.
  12. You'll get shot down in flames like that bloke last year - who made a Jones for captain in 2013 thread, Demonland shot him down, LOL. I will try and find it, pretty funny.
  13. Toumpas is mentally weak and not cut out to play AFL football - at least not for MFC. Maybe in a top side he'd be a really good player, but mentally it's too much for him at Melbourne. It does happen to some players and recruiters need to look on a psychological level - as well as externally. We missed Ollie Wines and that will continue to be a shame, but we need to look forward and identify players who will take us forward. Really happy with both Jones, Terlich, Viney, these types run a different mind set to a lot of our other blokes. And, we didn't pick Toumpas to get nursed through the VFL, if he isn't up to it, then he won't be after a stint in the VFL. What happened to Gysberts, Cook, Morton, Strauss? They were soft and no matter how much VFL they played - they were never up to it. Melbourne football club pick soft players and I don't care if others defend some of them, I can't defend some players anymore, they are not up to it, Toumpas is one.
  14. Neeld wasn't the problem because the whole club is a rabble, from the board on down, that is why PJ is fixing it. If the club was in order when Neeld arrived, he'd of probably been a decent coach. Neeld did have to go in the end so we could get the board and the rest of the club right. It wasn't fair on Neeld from the time he came in, but Neeld would have no regrets, he got a taste of it and he'll succeed elsewhere.
  15. MFC like soft players. I'd float Toumpas up for trade at years end. I don't care what anyone says, I see nothing in Toumpas or Trengove, nothing. When we are in desperate need for footballers, the club drafts Strauss, Gysberts, Cook and then Toumpas. WE NEED FOOTBALLERS for christs sakes!!! That is what is wrong with this club, we are still paying for messing up those picks..
  16. Tom Scully was always going to be a gun. But he is a front runner and he has no ticker, he'd be very easy to put off his game. We are down and out, we need players like Viney, Wines, Selwood, Martin, Nathan Jones types, Sloane. Players who don't care who the opposition is. Scully might look good playing against us, but he is a mentally weak person. Trengove is a soft person, so is Toumpas. We need ball getters, this club has really made a mess of the drafting, picking blokes like Gysberts, Cook, Strauss. Couldn't get softer blokes if you were earmarking them yourself. We are now paying the price for pathetic drafting, I don't even want to hear about development, we drafted blokes I wouldn't even pay to play local bush footy.
  17. I can't even take the GWS supporters seriously, I see them pumping their fists and I just think, what do you represent. Then I realize that I barrack for the MFC.
  18. We bottomed out when Richmond did, they are currently playing great football against Hawthorn whilst we have gone backwards from our worst.
  19. I'm officially done watching this mob. I've never stopped watching this club, I can't handle this no more. Let me know when 2014 starts.
  20. I remember many people in Big Footy had us taking Sloane and from all reports we told the kid we'd take him to. Another bungle after another bungle after another bungle. Picking Stauss, Bennel, Gysberts and Cook were all shocks when we picked then, shocks to everyone. MFC really were pathetic, I was an amateur and was just shaking my head thinking, James Stauss, ya kidding, no.. Nothing has changed, expect at least now Todd Viney is in charge and Terlich was a hell of a pick, so was Jones, amazing.
  21. So Fitz is going forward and Spencer is a sub. Has Blease been dropped? If so, he has p*ssed on many a breakfast in 2013. 2014 can not come quick enough, hopefully Roos, Walsh and some quality mids arrive for Xmas.
  22. IMO Roos is holding out till he knows if we get a PP. Here is a bloke who spent his time at Sydney with no real quality draft picks. Roos knows the value of high picks.. If we were to get a PP, he'd be mad not to take the job. Paul Roos has a MASSIVE ego, maybe rightfully so too, but he won't want to fail and an extra PP would give him confidence. MFC is the biggest challenge in the game and it's not a lost cause, especially given our talent and possible high picks. Some might say Roos would've decided by now, rah rah, but if Roos has decided by now, then he is an idiot. In that article, Roos indication that he might be interested, came indirectly when he suggested the next coach won't consider us till our board is stable. I am glad that Paul Roos recognises that we now have a bloke who speaks sense - like PJ - involved, that helps massively. If we can snare Walsh and a PP, Roos will take the gig, he aint silly.
  23. We have a better ruck set up than both Hawthorn and Collingwood. Jamar/Gawn combo next year will absolutely pants Bailey/Hale. Jamar is a very good tap ruckman and Gawn is currently showing us what he will be. opposition clubs would love to have Gawn coming through. With Jamar in our side, our problem was still getting the ball out the centre and Jamar wins most of his taps - even though he is useless in every other facet of the game. Our ruck stocks are better than they have been the past 5 years and you don't give up much for ruckman, if we need a mature ruckman, we will get one late in the draft.
  24. No way, now F'in way! Put down the bottle, NOW!!
