  1. Gives us a rare Saturday game, so I'm not complaining.
  2. Reading the AFL site with an article where it raves that we have an unwanted record. Who cares about historical figures that have no bearing on the results of football at present. In reality we played one of the most successful sides of recent times, known wet trackers and we had a dip. These articles about unwanted records etc, I don't know what the point of them is or what the intentions of the writers are. Yes MFC is struggling, but we would not be the only side in the competition to go down against Geelong in the wet.
  3. If Ricciuto reckons Toumpas is going to be a star, then take it to the bank. Good game by Toumpas today.
  4. Toumpas has played really well, this kid is having a real dip. Best game for Jimmy. I'd like to know the free kick count?
  5. Toumpas has been ok, the bloke has 6 tackles and appears to have a dip. On days like today, I'd of thought Toumpas would have 0 tackles. But, his aggression is improving.
  6. He'll struggle to get a game next week if that is the case. Nate Jones tries hard.
  7. This mob are just mudders. We are playing against one of the best wet weather sides of recent times. Geelong would do what they are doing to us - to any side. And Bartel has barely even touched it, the best wet weather footballer in the comp - barring Ablett/McVeigh.
  8. Looks like Byrnes is back playing for cats.
  9. I think we'll be competitive for 3 quarters and make a game of it. If Stokes is out, that is massive... Especially given that I think Christensen is out as well. They are very underrated players.
  10. Judging by the build on him, he'd be a monty to be picked up by the MFC.
  11. This thread still hasn't been closed, amazing.
  12. Compared to Watts, Hogan has it easy coming in, Not only that, he has a bigger body, more mature, more aggressive, has played against men. Probably played more footy in general than Watts. Hogan will be surrounded by better forwards Watts had to compete with the hype of Nick Nat, etc... Hogan competes with no-one. The only thing Jesse Hogan will have to put up with is speculation that he is homesick.
  13. It goes both ways though, when he is in an AFL system, his body will also catch up to others. Aside from Kellys tank and his ability to rack up the numbers, he is also very good on his right side - which is rare for a leftie. Personally, Kelly wouldn't be my top choice either, but I wouldn't be disappointed if we ended up going with Kelly. There are no many flaws in this kids game.
  14. I don't mind Duigan as a player and like Dawes, he is an intellectual bloke who would be good for the kids. By memory, I think Duigan is a psychologist, so it couldn't hurt to have another grounded older head amongst the youth.
  15. I am annoyed young Jack kicked 4 goals. Sides should be making his life hell, why give these young kids a free ride.
  16. He is a big risk for a smart club, but also, he is a big reward for a club with good midfielder beneath him. For any side needing a ruckman to boast their chances of winning a flag, they could do worse than landing Jamar.
  17. Roos would be mad not to take the job, we have an abundance of quality youth to work with. High draft picks to come in next year. Our board will be quality... Our talent is quality and if Roos can improve that talent, he will get all the plaudits that come with it. That should be enough to satisfy his massive ego.
  18. Gawn is VERY impressive, considering he doesn't quite have the mature body yet, he has struggled on the boundary thrown ins because of this. Next year Max will be bigger and better and from there, he should only improve, he has been deprived of football has young Max. All the sudden Barry P is looking like a genius after today!
  19. We should trade Jamar. I think Collingwood, Hawthorn and GWS would be interested.
  20. Dawes was still very immature in 2010 when Collingwood won the flag. He was a raw player in 2010 and 2011, just a big lad who looked like he needed a few more years. I've watched Dawes closely all his career, because I had an X missus - Collingwood supporter - who loved Dawes. I watched his first game and he was just a big raw talent, then over time he started clunking them. We got Dawes at the right time, he spent his time at Collingwood just learning the game. They developed Dawes and we will reap the rewards, he will be a very good weapon for us and is still learning the game. Also, I spoke to a Collingwood physio late last year when we drafted Dawes and I asked him if Dawes would be good for us. He told me that Dawes is a leader and that he played his last year at Collingwood with a stiff finger that he injured - and it hampered his confidence to go out there and perform.
  21. Yeah, they are pathetic, I thought this only happened over the West.
  22. This is the worst umpiring against us, that I have seen since 08 - 09 against West Coast over there.
