Kennett told 3AW’s Neil Mitchell program on Thursday morning that “there [are] Melbourne members out there who have approached me in the last few weeks [and] who have asked me would I be a part of a group to stand against the incumbent board”. In response, McLardy said that Kennett’s views, particularly those from the past, did not reflect the members of the Melbourne Football Club. “Over the last few years Jeff has been very vocal in his thoughts on our Club. His suggestions for our Club have included merging with North Melbourne and moving to the Gold Coast. We don’t believe Jeff’s views on our Club align with our members,” he said. McLardy said he would look forward to updating members and supporters at Monday’s Queen’s Birthday game against Collingwood at the MCG with more information on our Club’s plans moving forward.
  2. The fact that he isn't a Melbourne supporter would be of help to him if he did take us over. He carries on like a [censored] at Hawthorn because he grew up as a Hawks supporter. He won't have that emotional baggage with us.
  3. It's no secret that GW$ and Gold Coast have been hogging all the priority picks the last few years due to being expansion clubs. I think the Gold Coast have done us a huge favour by being midtable so we will get the priority pick this time. Whoever coaches us next year be it Neeld or someone else, hopefully it gives them something to work with.
  4. In the latest instalment of his Please Explain column, Glenn McFarlane asks the AFL why it is even thinking about handing Melbourne extra help:- Please Explain: Why Melbourne does not deserve a priority draft pick
  5. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/meet-americas-first-openly-gay-sport-star/story-fnecrvvd-1226632585532 BASKETBALLER Jason Collins this week shocked the world of US professional sport by declaring - on the cover of Sports Illustrated - that he was gay. Collins is the first active player in one of America's major sports to make such an admission.
  6. I dislike Kevin Sheedy intensely but we couldn't go far wrong in getting him. He'd get the best out of our youngsters and help bring Watts and Trengove to the next level. He would be a viable chance for us as I have heard this will be his last year at Greater Western Sydney.
