The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
I see it the opposite, the MFC would have the opportunity to move on from sentiment and become the ruthless sporting organisation it needs to be, if a player isn't in the best side, best mix for the way we want to play, we move them on. look at the Hawks, they've had no problem moving on heart and soul players in the pursuit of improving their side. Jack is a good player, but i think we've seen the best he's going to be, and our side looks better without him in it, so i think we should take the emotion out of it and make the brave decision. instantly show the list that noone is safe, you have to perform or you're on the chopping block and start building the tough, ruthless professional sporting organisation this club has never been. Roosy did it moving on Grimes who was a heart and soul player.

Brad Hill
I'd rate Hills value at about the pick 13-18 mark. so i think a trade of Pick 3 for Hill and Pick 9 would be a fair deal. the Dockers may like an upgrade of picks to get it over the line. established outside midfielder and a presence in the top 10 is a good result.
-
Brad Hill
I wouldn't trade pick 2, but i would downgrade pick 3 if it meant getting an established player in as well. if Noah anderson is an option i'd take him over anyone else that is currently an option
-
Brad Hill
my view of the draft is that after picks 1 & 2 it drops off a little. if Noah Anderson is on the table and the suns don't get pick 2 i think we grab him in the draft. if the Suns get picks 1 & 2 i think we trade 3 if there is an opportunity to fill a significant need as in either a big key forward, or multiple outside runners.

Brad Hill
We'd have to give up a first round pick for Hill but potentially we could trade pick 3 for Hill and their first rounder - around 9. then add pick 21- Langdon to the deal and it's a win - win for both sides in my opinion.

Crystal Ball 2019: Predictions for next season
Bluey top 5 in my opinion 1. Max Gawn 2. Clayton Oliver 3. Christian Salem 4. Christian Petracca 5. James Harmes goal kicker, i reckon in the last 4 Fritsch might be a chance to run down Track on current form. though 25-30 goals and averaging 20 touches per game is a strong return from Track

Brendan McCartney Leaving at Seasons End
you have to wonder about how much of an impact Goodwin will actually allow assistants to have, if we got a new defensive coach would he allow them to set up their own structures?
-
Are we scarcely relevant?
Lets be real, we've had a horrific year and for the most part avoided the blow torch. it was always coming and it's probably deserved.

2019 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Like the sound of Deven Robertson. seems like a lot of inside midfielders at the pointy end so wonder do we go best avaliable even if we are well stocked in that area or do we draft someone a little early that fits a need? 8. Deven Robertson Best position: Inside midfield Height, weight: 182cm, 80kg Recruited from: Perth Projected draft range: 5-30 Plays like: Adam Treloar July Rankings: 8 Rationale: Nephew of Darren Glass, Robertson is one of the most productive ball-winning midfielders in the pool. Winning the Larke Medal for the best player during the Under-18 Championships, Robertson was as consistent and influential as any during the carnival Strengths: Production, attack on the ball, contested ball winning, freakish reflexes on ground ball pickups, stoppage work, work rate, endurance, speed, agility, evasion, tackling, pressure around the ground, distribution by hand, moves the ball on quickly, courage, leadership on and off the field Weaknesses: Scoreboard impact, ball use under pressure, unclear versatility

Brendan McCartney Leaving at Seasons End
Correct. have heard he is interested in another senior coaching gig, may feel a senior assistant role at another club is the best way to get his name back into those conversations. wouldn't be surprised if the Suns are looking at him on decent $$ as a good football person to come up and support Dew and develop their young players.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ADAM TOMLINSON
His speed is the thing for me, he mitigates one of our big weaknesses down there in leg speed, i think the more games that he, may and Lever play together the better Frost will get.

Brendan McCartney Leaving at Seasons End
Yeah, apparently it was reported on AFL 360. i didn't watch it myself so didn't see any further info other than the tigers are aware, and he's leaving at seasons end.

Apparently Caracella leaving the tigers at seasons end. i wonder if he's on our radar?

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ADAM TOMLINSON
Would be a great pick up. he's a lot like Tommy as a big guy with an incredible tank. i wonder where we'd intend on playing him? I reckon if the GCS get pick 2 there is a good chance pick 3 might be involved in getting Langdon and Hill from the dockers

Alan Richardson on Demon's Radar
Would love to get Michael Voss in as a midfield/stoppage coach. how good would it be to have Voss to team guys like Brayshaw and Oliver?
-
Brendan McCartney Leaving at Seasons End
Thanks LN, i heard it today off a mate who has some insiders at Carlton, so thought maybe there was some interest from there. on that notes he also told me the board is pretty set on Teague, but Judd wants Voss, and is concerned about teague being part of a "Failed regime" make of that what you will, just what he told me.

Have heard rumours of Jennings wanting out/ being moved on and Bolten being on the radar, not sure if anyone has heard this?

Alan Richardson on Demon's Radar
I wonder how Brad Scott compares in terms of levels of interest? you don't see too much about clubs asking about him.

we should, i agree. but they absoltuely won't.

Some coaches just don't make great senior coaches for some reason, Alan Richardson is a great bloke, great football person and would be a tremendous asset to the MFC. i suspect though Macca leaving won't be the only change. i'm thinking it'll be a pretty significant shake up with several coaches and staff members moving on. it also shouldn't be lost that Macca has made a very positive contribution to the club in his development role, and no doubt the early career form of Petracca, Brayshaw and Oliver to name a few can in part be credited to his coaching.

Perhaps we'd have to sweaten the deal. but i think pick 9 is not the worst place to start negotiations.

Angus Brayshaw to Fremantle Rumours
Sam Mitchell didn't disrupt Hawthorns entire midfield structure, our midfield looks clearly better without Jack in it, but he walks into the side, and captaincy because his sir name is Viney. if his sir name was Brayshaw he'd 100% be on the trade block.
-
The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
the trades i'd be looking at would be Pick 3 & 21 to the Fremantle Dockers for Brad Hill, Ed Langdon, pick 9 Pick 9 to the GCS for Ben King if he indeed wants out. Future first rounder - appeal given the chance it's a pick 1-4 for a 2019 first rounder to use in the draft. even if we have to include something to get it over the line.
-
Angus Brayshaw to Fremantle Rumours
Our midfield looks it's best when it's Oliver, Brayshaw and Harmes tagging and running off. Speed, toughness and i think better skills. Viney i would try as a pressure forward but otherwise if it was my call i'd say he would be a trade option given he'd have decent value. i agree, he upsets the balance quite a bit, if he's in the midfield it's his midfield he turns any structure into chaos which is great if he wins it, horrible if he doesn't because everyone is out of position.
