I reckon they'll feel Rowell is a somewhat safer option.
-
I agree, similar trade value to Melksham and Hibberd. pick in the 20's and he improves our side with some much needed run and carry.
-
from what i've seen in the draft Ben King is better than anyone outside of the top 2 if the GCS get a priority pick i think we should trade pick 2 for Ben King. if we could get 19 back in exchange for our 36 as well that would be a dream result. it's basically Noah Anderson at pick 2 or King or HIll and Langdon for pick 3

My basic view is that AFL football is a ruthless industry with little room for sentiment, we need to get the best possible team of coaches around the players for the 2020 season, i have a feeling there would be forwards coaches ahead of Yze that would be on the radar. it pains me to say that because Adam was one of my favourite players of all time.
-
I just shook my head when i read that. surely he knows it's not his place to get involved. but then, he's treated the competition like his play thing since day one. i really hope Coniglio goes now just to spite him.
-
Hard work motivating yourself if you don't believe in the coach, or the direction he's setting. i think it's a combination of the two.
-
lever and may both need an injury free run at it and some time to build some chemistry. May has looked good when he's played and i think Lever has been solid, but when he came to us he wasn't a gun one on one defender and the pies really managed to expose that.
-
especially because Goody would have handpicked these guys, now he is saying his all star coaching line up is no good, where to now?
-
I think the best parts of Higgins won't fade with time, he's a beautiful kick, a good leader, and very smart. i'd feel much better with him on a wing than i do with Jones out there.
-
Work ethic comes back 100% on the coaching team. if Goodwin can't motivate the players to behave like professional athletes then either the players go, or he does. we can't afford to waste another season.
-
I don't mind the idea of trading the pick for the right deal. but only if there is confidence they know what's caused the fall this year and are absolutely sure next year won't be the same thing
-
we really just need extra depth for a year or 2. i reckon Weid is going to come through really strongly in that time. it's why i don't mind the idea of Roughy one year transition into coaching. even if he hardly played he could teach Tom and Sam about forward craft
-
I think the GC priority pick thing is happening. the last significant hurdle is the clubs where there will no doubt be strong opposition but when guys like Barrett and caro start saying it, the AFL is trying to slowly get the public to accept the fact this is happening.
-
I don't mind giving him another year playing as a forward. i think his experience is huge for our group, and will be vital for us to push back up the ladder.
-
to be honest i think the $$ side of things is where they have a big edge over us in this race.
-
Nah nothing much else. we've left our run a bit late for Hill it seems but Langdon might be pretty close to over the line barring a big offer from another club.
-
Hoping the people i'm speaking to are wrong, but i'm hearing the Saints and Hawks are ahead of us in the race for Hill. we are having to be pretty creative Salary cap wise to come up with a financial offer to get him and Langdon and it's looking like the club is prioirtising Langdon over Hill. and the Saints and Hawks have some money to splash.

What would it take to bounce back in 2020?
Ted Lasso replied to Little Goffy's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm still extremely bullish about 2020 and here is why. 1. our ladder position provides us with the opportunity to significantly improve our list. if we can add Langdon, Hill or ideally both, and somehow retain a later first round pick and only give up draft picks, i think our side already looks better and more balanced. 2. Our ladder position also provides us with what should be a significantly better draw than we had this year. 3. Our list is still quite young, another full pre season and some continuity and playing together should help team chemistry further develop. 4. the football department review should cause some new voices in the football program which has lead to some very positive results at other teams. 5. we have a good list, if we can get the game plan right, have a good run with injuries and secure an easier draw i think we put ourselves in a position to quickly build confidence and have a serious crack at top 4 in 2020. -
I see it the opposite, the MFC would have the opportunity to move on from sentiment and become the ruthless sporting organisation it needs to be, if a player isn't in the best side, best mix for the way we want to play, we move them on. look at the Hawks, they've had no problem moving on heart and soul players in the pursuit of improving their side. Jack is a good player, but i think we've seen the best he's going to be, and our side looks better without him in it, so i think we should take the emotion out of it and make the brave decision. instantly show the list that noone is safe, you have to perform or you're on the chopping block and start building the tough, ruthless professional sporting organisation this club has never been. Roosy did it moving on Grimes who was a heart and soul player.

I'd rate Hills value at about the pick 13-18 mark. so i think a trade of Pick 3 for Hill and Pick 9 would be a fair deal. the Dockers may like an upgrade of picks to get it over the line. established outside midfielder and a presence in the top 10 is a good result.
-
I wouldn't trade pick 2, but i would downgrade pick 3 if it meant getting an established player in as well. if Noah anderson is an option i'd take him over anyone else that is currently an option
-
my view of the draft is that after picks 1 & 2 it drops off a little. if Noah Anderson is on the table and the suns don't get pick 2 i think we grab him in the draft. if the Suns get picks 1 & 2 i think we trade 3 if there is an opportunity to fill a significant need as in either a big key forward, or multiple outside runners.
-
We'd have to give up a first round pick for Hill but potentially we could trade pick 3 for Hill and their first rounder - around 9. then add pick 21- Langdon to the deal and it's a win - win for both sides in my opinion.

Crystal Ball 2019: Predictions for next season
Ted Lasso replied to P-man's topic in Melbourne Demons
Bluey top 5 in my opinion 1. Max Gawn 2. Clayton Oliver 3. Christian Salem 4. Christian Petracca 5. James Harmes goal kicker, i reckon in the last 4 Fritsch might be a chance to run down Track on current form. though 25-30 goals and averaging 20 touches per game is a strong return from Track -
you have to wonder about how much of an impact Goodwin will actually allow assistants to have, if we got a new defensive coach would he allow them to set up their own structures?
