WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
Not at all impossible either. Crows want Stephens. Swans want Flanders and Dockers i think will pick Robertson. so it's really down to what the Giants do with pick 4. if Young gets past them i reckon we'll get him at 8. if not i'd say it'll be Lachie Ash

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
I wonder if the Giants would rate Jackson higher than Green? would they match a bid with pick 3? in any case, i doubt they would do this if they thought there was any real chance of us bidding.

Tom Green (Drafted by GWS Giants)
I wonder if there could potentially be a situation in play where the handshake deal effectively would be. we take Jackson 3 and don't bid on Green if they don't take Young and he potentially slides to 8 Crows are keen on Stephens at 6, Swans keen on Flanders and i suspect Dockers will grab Robertson. we may potentially get our 2 highest preferences out of this. Giants did have interest in Serong at one stage so surely they'd see him and Green as a great result.

our unwillingness to do that deal makes me think we've decieded to take Luke Jackson at 3. and the Giants think because of that theyre going to get Green and Young.

Splitting Draft Pick 3
Giants wouldn't do this without confidence we won't bid on Green IMO i suspect they'll be grabbing Luke Jackson at pick 4 if we go for Hayden Young.

Splitting Draft Pick 3
Pick 3 to the Dockers for picks 7 and 10 Melbourne draft 7. Jackson 8. Ash 10. Serong won't happens but sounds nice.

Phantom Drafts
My best guess at the top 10 Draft day trade - Crows pick 4 for Giants 6 and 2020 first. 1. Rowell - GCS 2. Anderson - GCS 3. Young - Melbourne 4. Jackson - Giants 5. Flanders - Swans 6. GWS - Green - Crows Bid. 7. Stephens - Crows 8. Robertson - Dockers 9. Serong - Melbourne 10. Ash - Blues

Hayden Young (Drafted by Fremantle)
I've changed my mind on that pick 3 about 45 times so far. but i think i've landed in my own mind on the preference on Young over Jackson and with pick 8 preference order of Jackson Serong Ash Flanders depending on who is there

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
Geez the Gawn/Jackson team up prospect is an exciting prospect. for me it's his forward prospects that is key to this. if Taylor thinks he can be a 40 -50 goal a year key forward, i say draft him at pick 3. and look at Ash or Serong at 8

What to do with what is now Pick 74?
I'd love to see us again have a really good look at the state leagues and get a mature age player. we've done pretty well so far with that approach. another Bailey Fritsch or Vanders for pick 97 would be a great result.

Hayden Young (Drafted by Fremantle)
I'm really torn on this one because i think the potential upside of Jackson is incredible. we could be looking at a 50 goal a year key forward, who takes the pressure off Tommy and a relief ruckman that allows us to dominate the ruck for entire games without letting up. given we are much better than a 17th team i see logic in rolling the dice there. my big concerns are, go home culture, using a pick 3 on an interestate player. i think he's gone before pick 8 and if we trade pick 3 i reckon the Giants grab him. Hayden Young is a player who immediately improves our side and offers multiple attributes we desperately need and is a young leader. but i think there are a lot more of this type around than Luke Jacksons. very glad i'm not the one who has to make the decision.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
We definitely look to be considering small forwards in the pre season draft which makes me think they have others they'd like to consider in the draft

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
He's a super talent. imagine being an 18 year old ruckman, coming in and learning off Max gawn and then taking over the mantle. more than happy to grab him at pick 8.

Phantom Drafts
Got a funny feeling we'll go with Serong at pick 3, he's going to be handy up forward in the small forward role, ability to rotate through and have an impact in the middle as well. I reckon we might grab Lachie Ash at pick 8.

Jack Martin
If the deal offered by Carlton that seems to be public is true MFC could match it. makes me think there is a bit of Visy situation about this and that's why he's so keen to get there.
-
Hayden Young (Drafted by Fremantle)
I'd be bidding on Green at 3, making the Giants match and then grabbing Young. wouldn't be unhappy with Serong but we are crying out for someone with Youngs kicking and it's such an important position.

Jack Steven
I've heard it's a pretty delicate situation so definitely best for him to be closer to home and the support of his family and at the end of the day, footy clubs are run by human beings and sometimes it's worth taking a bit of a hit in a football sense to do the right thing. well done St Kilda for looking after a champion of your club when he needed it desperately.

Splitting Draft Pick 3
I suspect they're pretty keen. maybe if they did a deal with the Suns for pick 15. we could get thier pick 40 odd as well.
-
Splitting Draft Pick 3
I think assuming it's picks only. i'd be telling them if they can add a pick of 13 or better to add with 6 i'd do it. if we can get Weightman at 13 and say Ash and Stephens at 6 and 8 that'd be a good overall result.

Farewell to Our First Pick in 2020
Fortunately the guys who make these decisions don't do so based on highlight reels. Stephens is a good player though i'd also be happy with Flanders

Splitting Draft Pick 3
I'd be speechless.

Splitting Draft Pick 3
Nothing wrong with hitting the draft with pick 3 and 8. infact it's a great position. i'm sure GWS understand that and we're silly if we aren't demanding a best 22 player along with pick 6 for pick 3. we need a deal that improves our side for 2020 for this to be worth it.

Farewell to Our First Pick in 2020
No complaints for me. greatly increase our speed and class on the outside address small forward need re-enforce key targets forward build on young core add on field experience and leadership all major areas of list concern addressed is a success in anyones books. don't mind the idea of offering up the future second to the Crows for a last minute hail mary at Alex Keith potentially.
