He has been a highly rated assistant for a few years now, must have thrown up some good match day suggestions to gain this reputation, a bit like Adam Simpson, he is fresh enough out of playing to know the game pretty well but unlike Hird, Buckley and Voss he has the experience as an assistant.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
Ted Lasso replied to Freddy Fuschia's topic in Melbourne Demons
Jesse is captain material for sure, he doesn't settle, drives his own standards -
Goody has a reputttion for being an amazing game day coach, i think when he takes over he will have a Macca-Berveridge type impact.

Roos, Goodwin, Jones, Daisy, Jesse, Viney, Brayshaw, Vince, Tmac, Trenners ( i know he didn't play a game but what he's done off field this season has won him a heap of respect in my eyes )
-
I reckon the Swans will be right back up the top

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
Ted Lasso replied to Freddy Fuschia's topic in Melbourne Demons
As difficult as it is, i try and view the rebuild as only really starting under Roos, in his 2 years so far we have gone from 2 wins 58% to 7 wins, which should have been more like 10 a really strong core of talent that looks like taking us forward, slowly winning back respect and i think we can play finals next year if everything plays out perfectly injury wise. -

Calculated risk, Richmond wouldn't have requested the test, nor MFC allowed it had either side thought it'd re-injure his Navicular, or it'd already gone again. imo we simply wanted Jake Lever, Richmond expressed an interest in Trengove, we knew there was a chance he may not make it back even being generous and saying trenners was 30-70 to make it back, that'd become the tigers problem and we'd get a high quality player in with no injury history, it was a deal to good to be true. I reckon it's as simple as, RIchmond made a great offer, we ran it by Trenners and he was happy to stay or go, he didn't pass the medical and we move on, clearly there is no bad blood, i'd argue Trenners is as invested in the MFC as anyone, the way he's handled himself this year, and helped Petracca along is a credit to himself and imo inspirational.

Some teams will respond to the interchange cap, others won't, i expect it to suit Freo and Sydney in a big way, i think Bennell can get Freo over the line for their first flag this year.
-
Bugg i think will become a very good B grade two way midfielder capable of keeping a quality player out of the game and having an impact offensively, as well as playing that role which free's up Viney and Vince to be more attacking and really use their weapons.
-
kid attacks the ball like Jack Viney and Gus Brayshaw does, but has far more speed than either, could be a huge weapon.
-
this time last year he was sprinting and kicking because he had to try and pass a medical at Richmond, and the crows wanted one as well, this year we've locked him in and are in no rush, i'd rather see him not play til mid year and make it back then us take any risks with Jack, he's way to good to risk it.

Yup, my source on this belongs to another footy club who would have been very interested in recruiting Dom, like most would i imagine, and he is of the opinion it could be done before round 1 and he isn't going anywhere, to many close mates at the Dees

and if he's fine he'll get another, if fit, certainly a required player

From what i've seen of Jacks running he looks free and pain free, he is past the point of his last setback, so that's a good sign

Jake Melksham has come across on good money, he'd want to show a bit more than he has done at the bombers.

Wattsy is OOC and up against it to hold his spot in the 22 in some pretty exciting times, 2016 is as simple as jack watts answering the question of how badly he wants to be part of it, is he willing to fight for it.
-
There is no more important inclusion in the Demonland banner for 2016 then Daisy if you ask me, she's right up there with Jesse and Chunk as the most marketable and passionate demons out there.
-
I was super impressed with the way Harmes finished 2015, i reckon a solid pre season and he should be right in the mix for round 1.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - TOMAS BUGG
Ted Lasso replied to whatwhat say what's topic in Melbourne Demons
I rate Bugg, he's a very solid run with player who can win his own ball, he will free up Vince and Viney and allow them to attack more. -
WELCOME BACK TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - VIV MICHIE
Ted Lasso replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Seems to do alot right, the only thing i've ever heard about viv is that there are a couple of things the coaches want him to do more to hold his spot at AFL level, i suspect one is tackle. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JOSHUA WAGNER
Ted Lasso replied to DemonLad5's topic in Melbourne Demons
Good kick, can mark overhead, can tackle... eh happy with that. -
Pretty hard to judge where Oliver is going to be at by round 1, from a fitness point of view most draftee's seem to do between 65-75% of the program in their first pre season, i'd expect Oliver to probably be less under normal circumstances given he has missed the previous 2 pre seasons, don't want to blow the kid up, having said that it seems we're focusing much more on footy this year so that probably increases the amount the young blokes do. I reckon he's really going to have to earn it, with the interchange cap we are going to have to make sure blokes are 100% right to go before they play.

Something i noticed at training the other day that i haven't seen from Watts is a bit of leadership, he's really getting around the boys this year more than i've seen him do, maybe growing up a bit.
