  1. I find it very disappointing that the AFLPA are far more concerned with taking pot shots at WADA then having a crack at the club within their competition who's just been found guilty of doping 34 of it's players, even the AFL tribunal with an incorrect evidence requirement couldn't find these players not guilty, so the result really isn't all that surprising, I don't have any sympathy for any profession athlete who doesn't know and can't prove what they have put into their bodies, if they knew and could prove this, the investigation wouldn't have happened in the first place, if they weren't sure, they should have said no to Danks injections until they had written proof of what they were taking, they didn't and it's come back to bite them.
  2. It's interesting for someone like Dyson Heppell who I imagine would be on a fair crust, he'd potentially miss out on 800k- 1 mil for the year he is suspended out of this, I wonder if the club could be forced to pay a portion of that as you say, due to their responsibility in all this, however I suspect the players have shot themselves in the foot
  3. Agreed, I don't think the club would be willing to change that to much, if other clubs are allowed top ups I wonder if Essendon and co will come sniffing around for Cross
  4. For those who understand the legal side of things I have a question does todays result have a significant bearing on any players attempts to sue the club for failing their duty of care given the players are responsible for what goes into their bodies and signed consent forms? has the club covered their own bums and hung the players out to dry?
  5. the absence of AFL influence perhaps? the correct level of proof also? and WADA being a far more professional outfit
  6. That must be what he meant, I mentioned how [censored] it would be if a bloke got suspended and the club had to pay him, and he said, the clubs knew that wouldn't be an issue, cheers for that
  7. Admittedly not particularly knowledgeable with the legal stuff, but I would have thought the action by the players against the club would be a real concern for any coach or support staff that had anything to do with this, including Goody.
  8. Melksham is going to have an interesting 2016
  9. I am told Jakes contract with us has conditions that if a guilty verdict is handed down his salary is significantly reduced, there is no way the clubs/boards who pick up these players would agree under normal conditions, Saints and Port are paying big money for Carlisle/Ryder
  10. I watched young Sam destroy the Northern Blues last year, reminded me a bit of Jesse actually, if he can stay fit those two will be a very dangerous combo
  11. I rate jack as a player, but enough words, 2016 he needs to become a leader and take some ownership of where this club is going, he's a senior player, been around a long time and while not everyone agree's i think he can play, he can't just be a player who is possibly a wingman, maybe a forward and probably not a defender, by the end of the year we need to know what he is, and i suspect it will either be, a solid MFC player or at another club if he doesn't take the next step.
  12. I'd argue it did for Hogan as well, showed some flashes of how good he was going to be but really didn't have a huge impact in the first few games, in comparision to the type of form he did build into, but Petracca is training extremely well, has a very big developed body and i see no reason he can't have a significant impact next year, the interchange cap is the huge variable, i think that will make things tough for all young players.
  13. Possibly, but while Weiderman is a little less developed right now, unlike Hulett, Weiderman has played against AFL listed men, and dominated in the game against the northern Blues, so i don't think he'll be all that far away if he can stay fit.
  14. Petracca, Melksham, Bugg, I reckon Roosy will make Oliver earn it
  15. who knows, so many variables Tyson at best is A grade, but will he find consistency Trengove could be an A grader if he can make it back Petracca could have a Hogan like impact.. could Oliver could have a Wines like impact.. the real key will be if Gawn can play a full season at the level he showed last year, if he can, he can push All Australian and make life alot easier for our mids, funny how mids suddenly become rated much higher when your ruck gets his hands on the ball a bit more.
  16. Change for the sake of change seems silly, i see no reason to think it would be an obvious improvement.
  17. I think the interchange cap is going to really test the young guys, probably good to know who's going to embrace the challenge and who's gunna sulk
  18. There are a lot of players now who have no reason not to fess up, that haven't, I really don't understand why those players haven't taken deals and blown this wide open yet?
  19. Seems like a situation based around deliberate plausible deniability, no one can say what they took because no one knows but Mr Dank who refuses to even let them talk to him, Don't say anything.. cmon, clearly the only reason they can't say anything is because it may result in someone asking the question.
  20. " Keep quiet about the injections so we can maintain a competitive advantage" if that's not cheating i'm not sure what is.
  21. Who cares if he was offered up for trade, i'm sure a bunch of players were bought up during trade week, but Jack is still on our list so fingers crossed for a strong 2016
  22. I think right at this moment these two and probably Michie are on their last legs as AFL players and know it, having said that it's a great sign on where the club is at, 3 seasons ago they were third and fourth in our best and fairest... now they're probably the last two on the list..
