  1. very different foot issue to Jack but yes, tragic none the less, from all reports and extremely talented young man
  2. My opinion is they were probably given advice that even if it was a guilty verdict, the bans would be much less, i think the one year caught a lot of people by surprise, simply because within the AFL boys club, they're used to negotiated outcomes rather than justice.
  3. Nathan Jones struggles with a tag and that is something he desperately needs to work on, i personally think he's a better player than cotchin but for him to go to the next level he needs to close the gap between games he is tagged in and games he isn't, find a way to have more of an impact when he's being closely watched.
  4. I see where you are coming from, but i am backing a recruiting team who has hardly missed a beat the last few years to have judge Weiderman higher then whatever our 2016 prospect might have been, if we make the finals or even go close, pick 7 could have been pick 10 next year, which might not seem like much but in the top 10 in the draft, it's pretty significant i reckon, especially with the player we got. and you can't run that off as a FACT, how do you know they didn't do any homework? you don't think it's possible they knew this was a risk and decided he was worth it? Roos clearly rates the kid, as does Goodwin.
  5. I'd argue the vast majority of trade and draft periods have a fair bit of uncertainty, especially when the majority of players you bring in are draftee's, however gaining two top ten picks and a key forward of the quality of Wiederman i think is a positive Melksham i have never rated to be honest, happy to be proven wrong when he eventually plays. Bugg i think is a good solid role player we gave up very little to get, pretty happy with that Kennedy i rate, pretty happy to swap him and the Toump
  6. I still think it's to early to be appointing guys like Viney to the leadership group, and while i agree Trengove may not make it back, i think it'd be pretty hard to dispute that based on who we have, that he isn't in the best handful of leaders.
  7. From the training sessions i've been to, this is as good as i've seen Jack move, i didn't really see him in his first two years but he just looks so much quicker and more powerful
  8. Leadership group Imo Jones (c) Dunn (VC) Mcdonald Dawes Lumumba Trengove ( might seem a strange call, but the leadership he showed last year, on top of how good a leader he has always been, i see him as easily in the top 3 leaders at the club. )
  9. I think the gap between the two would be pretty close, Dawes' experience probably gives me the edge, but when you have a key forward on the sort of money Dawes is on, who can't even manage 20 goals a season, and struggles to hold his marks, critics are going to come thick and fast. Personally believe Wiederman will play at some point in the first half of the year also but my round 1 team Jetta Mcdonald Dunn Salem Frost Lumumba Vince Viney Brayshaw VDB Hogan Kent Garlett Dawes Pederson Gawn Jones Tyson Petracca Bugg Garland Harmes
  10. we couldn't get a priority pick after 37 wins in 8 seasons inc over 10 100 point losses within the two years, because we were found not guilty of tanking. Essendon get found guilty of drug cheating and get 10 top up players and a pick 1 handed to them we aren't dealing with common sense.
  11. It's a disgrace that Port Adelaide start 2016 with one less player because of this, Essendon are the only team who should be playing short, absolutely embarrassing how the AFL compromise it's stance against drugs in sport for $$
  12. I wonder if this will lead to Dank trying to take Hird to court and a whole lot of truths coming out
  13. Doubt it, I suspect they would be paid rookie or draftee wages and the biggest draw card would be playing at AFL level again, all be it in a [censored] side
  14. I only list those because at one time or another all 4 were said to be interested in playing on, having said that I agree that a year with the bombers getting beaten every week really isn't the same thing.
  15. The top up players will be interesting Jamar, Stokes, Lake, Kelly and guys like that could be handy replacements.
  16. The only thing I remember being said is the players are " Highly likely" to take action against the club, and the EFC were keen to move on from this.
  17. I felt it was inappropriate for him to be voicing such strong opinions in the presser, WADA is still the governing anti doping code for the AFL and he has just set an example that it is okay to disrespect them, they did their job and the AFLPA unfortunately have no idea where the lines of their job begin and end, should be supporting the players who didn't cheat, not those who did.
  18. Dank is really annoying me, if he had smoking gun evidence that cleared him or EFC he would have used it, he's just an egotistical [censored] who is so far in over his head that reality has become a very strange and distant idea, and James Hird is also there.
  19. Anyone else get the feeling this might become a much bigger issue in 10 years time when the players start showing some serious side effects of the experimental drugs and drug combinations. I mean dank thought they were race horses.
  20. Been on it all day, he'll be lucky to make it to the show.
  21. plus the serious potential of snagging pick 1 in 2016 and welcoming back Hurley, Hooker, Heppell and co for next year, I don't imagine Watson will come back.
  22. People forget this is a result of the actions of the EFC.. not Wada, had they not had a supplements program it wouldn't have happened, the blame 100% sits with the Essendon football club. the reactions have been disgraceful from the AFL, AFLPA and EFC, totally ignoring the evidence and once again acting like WADA is the big bad wolf out to get them for no reason. If jobe keeps his brownlow and EFC are able to gain pick 1 next year it will be a reflection of what a joke the AFL is, they cheated.
  23. What rubbish, the fairest and best player in 2012 cannot also be a player who has been found guilty of drug cheating, for Jobe to keep his brownlow destroys the very meaning of the award in the first place, it shouldn't be up for discussion.
  24. So the AFL and AFLPA think the code is inappropriate for the comp because the result went the wrong way? what about all the evidence? players hiding the injection program, the AFL tribunal found them not guilty, it failed, not WADA.
  25. the AFLPA need to understand that they aren't on the same level as groups like WADA, they exist to support the players, not chuck a wobbley when the result goes their way and make ridiculous public comments, yes it's strong penalty, but the AFLPA are in no position to make any comment on if it was right or wrong, just go with what the powers at be say, and provide support where they can, all they have really done is fired up a few delisional EFC supporters and conspiracy theorists
