  1. Still have alot of faith Trenners will be back, and will shut alot of doubters up in 2016, he's as good a young player as we have and fully fit, look out.
  2. Not a surprise packet as such, because i am backing him in but i reckon by the end of 2016, Max Gawn is in our top 3 players and on par with goldy as the best ruck in the game.
  3. I reckon it's going to be a case of you're either aerobically out of this world or you have to play multiple positions to get a game, mids are going to have to rest forward, rucks are going to have to rest forward, i think games in general are going to be alot more contested, going to see the gap between the best and worst widen a bit more, Carltons kids will not be able to match the hawks fitness and that's going to be highlighted.
  4. Looking at the some of the predicted best 22's the pace side of things actually isn't all that bad Melksham, Jetta, Lumumba, Garlett, Kent, Petracca, Watts can all run and carry the ball
  5. imo Petracca is right to go, if we were picking round 1's team tomorrow he's in it. the interchange cap might hurt Olivers chances slightly, even he admits he's got a long way to go in terms of fitness, i think he's ready in most other aspects but we will see what happens
  6. I think we would have looked at this draft in a vastly different way had they been drafted say 2 years ago under Roos and no pressure been put on them, i don't rate Scully but i think he's still be in our 22 and Trengove i think could still be an A grader if he gets his body right.
  7. It's not just the six tackles per game, it's the fact they're brutal, you see when jack viney or gus brayshaw hit someone, they take a bit to get up, Oliver rattles the opposition, not someone anyone wants to line up against. Oliver, Jones, Viney, Brayshaw, Petracca, Trengove, all love a hard tackle, bring on 2016
  8. Something that is bugging me and is hardly related to the MFC but really gets me is why the hell SOS is rated so highly as a recruiter! he's screwed up so many more picks than he's gotten right. 2012 he grabbed...1: Whitfield ( looks good but obvious choice ) 2:O'rourke ( gone to hawks after showing little ) 3: Plowman ( gone to blues after showing little ) 12: Jacksh ( gone to blues after showing little ) 14: Corr ( looks okay, but not standing out ) 2013 1. Boyd ( gone to dogs after showing little ) 2. Kelly ( looks a player but obvious pick 2 ) 14: McCarthey ( good but wants out already ) 2014 4. Picket ( eh, did he even play? ) 6. Marchbank ( looks okay ) 7. Ahern ( meh ) 11 selections inside the top 14 in 3 years and imo 2 players that look like long term giants is a Melbourne-like result. hope his strike rate is better at the blues, for their sake.
  9. I felt Jack Watts played a really good patch of footy this year, and he's growing into his role, i still see him as very much part of the 22 if he plays at his best, hopefully another year with Macca and he'll be alot more consistent, has the ability, can he do it every week now
  10. Tipping Darcy Moore by a distance but track should be right up there
  11. Premiership jigsaw is coming together
  12. I remember reading somewhere that of inside mids something like 83% of the top endeds end up being quality players and with key forwards, and outside mids the % is more like 30-40
  13. I reckon there might have been a handshake deal to not bid on them early to be honest, all part of the bugg trade
  14. if we play finals next years first rounder might only be pick 12, so we've given that up for a mid and a key forward now that we can develop I reckon the club feels we have the young core now, it's time to develop them and start to climb at a serious rate.
  15. B: Jetta Mcdonald Garland HB: Melksham Frost Lumumba C:Salem Viney Brayshaw HF: Petracca Dunn Vandenberg F: Garlett Hogan Weiderman Fol: Gawn Jones Vince Tyson, Watts, Trengove, Oliver
  16. I personally see a Luke Parker clone when i look at Oliver.
  17. watched 2 games he played this year, he's no Jesse Hogan, but he's a great contested mark, takes the ball at it's highest point, he's very smart with his leads and no doubt will learn alot from Dawes about this, and he's a lovely set shot at goal, makes the most of his chances Hogan and Weiderman could be like having Carey and Lloyd in the same forward line
  18. you can almost include Petracca in this draft lot, Petracca and Oliver = Engine room for the next 10 years Hogan and Weiderman = key forwards for the next 10 years
  19. I think the ANB and stretch one was luck, from what i've heard the club were shocked he slipped through to pick 40 odd
  20. Imagine, Oliver, Weiderman, Balic and Bonner.
  21. If we got any of Bonner, Balic and Maitherson at our next pick that'd be an amazing result
  22. Great result, mid who should be able to have an impact right away and a very talented key forward who if he gets his body right i am backing to be the best player in this draft.
  23. Let's see how bidding on Mills goes
  24. Haha free beers at this thing? sounds like a few people are getting on it.
  25. I tend to just follow the tracker and just avoid that
