  1. I honestly believe if Jack Viney didn't have his little brain fade and was able to play we would have won that game, conditions like that the games best contested ball player would have been very handy! good lesson for the young man.
  2. I assumed it would be part of the AFL's dodgey little give the bombers a leg up plan despite them sending the comps integrity into the dirt. I just think it's absolutely ridiculous that one of the most exciting young sides in the comp gets one friday night game in the last two seasons, yet a team of VFL players is already having their second this year and Carlton who won the spoon last year has had a heap as well.
  3. Weiderman reminds me so much of Tom Lynch from the Suns in how he attacks the ball, i really think he, Hogan, Watts, Petracca, Garlett and co will become a nightmare for opposition teams
  4. Not really related to this topic but how can an undermanned Essendon side get more friday night games than the MFC..?
  5. I think the bigger thing is with us the " Handover" has happened, in terms of our side now belongs to Gawn, Hogan, Viney, Tyson and co and the older boys are really playing supporting roles, that hasn't happened at the Saints, they're still relying on the older boys to carry the team on the most part and that's why we're much closer to a flag than they are.
  6. Daniher is an absolute inspiration to everyone and personifies the word courage! so many people in his situation would have given up but he just refuses to stop fighting.
  7. I really hope Grimesy gets a gig at another club next season, i firmly believe the club has already decided to move him on and it's up to him to change our mind, but he's been consistently performing at VFL level and can't get a game so that paints a bad picture for him. It's such a shame because he's a fantastic bloke and bleeds red and blue as much as anyone at the club,
  8. Before his injury he was fairly consistent with his scoring, so i reckon he's a great value pick
  9. Not a bad way to remind Trenners about the step up from VFL to AFL level by chucking him straight in the guts against someone like Sam Mitchell.
  10. Not sure he'd have much if any trade value, but perhaps he might appeal to a side in contention looking to bolster it's defensive stocks, i reckon the Doggies wouldn't mind him.
  11. Especially when you've got Lynden Dunn who i consider to be a very handy role player in defense, who could be in the side and offering more than Oscar does, i really don't understand playing young key position players when you don't have to, let him develop a body and work with the coaches and come in when he's ready.
  12. Weiderman at full back, i'm sure he won't play there i just find it really interesting that players are consistently named in positions they're never going to play in.
  13. Grimes papers have been stamped i think, which is unfortunate because he's all heart but unfortunately a limited footballer, real shame because he's a fantastic bloke and bleeds red and blue.
  14. He's clearly done something they don't like. absolutely shocked he's not in the team to be honest, i thought for sure they'd want one of Garland or Dunn playing for some experience down back. lot resting on the shoulders of TMAC and Jetta
  15. Inspirational, that's the only word that sums Jack up. good onya mate!
  16. I think they'd be quite reluctant to rest Tyson given Viney is already out, but otherwise i think he definitely needs a week off.
  17. I think we'll put up a massive challenge but their class will get them home Hawks by 23
  18. Ah well, 10 rounds in and Diamond doesn't like it, better scrap it and start a re-build? if we win next week the port game will be forgotten. we are working on the balance between defense and attack and i am certain when we get that right you'll see much better defensive set up and effort.
  19. it's not another false dawn in any way shape and form, we've been steadily improving for the last three years. we are inconsistent because it's a new game plan and we have the youngest and most inexperienced 22 in the comp.. our best is very good, our worst is very average that's just what happens with young teams, look at the Saints, they look like world beaters one week and get belted the next, we're definitely ahead of them but the point stands. Our defense looks bad because they players are still working out how to implement it in game, combined with the lack of experience at AFL level making a 2 way transition running game plan very difficult for such a young team to deliver week in week out in any case, then you throw in the interchange cap, the conditions in Alice and the lack of changes it makes for a difficult day at the office, i said in the game day thread if we didn't jump out of the blocks we would really struggle over four quarters. in the last four years we've gone 2 wins, 4wins, 7 wins and now 5 already, there is definitely an upward trend there but we're just going to have to accept that with a list the age of ours we're going to have down weeks, but we'll also have up weeks, i wouldn't be surprised if we beat or seriously push the Hawks on the weekend.
  20. Can we just clone 18 Nev Jetta's and just play them around Gawn, Hogan, Tmac and N,Jones?
  21. Give him a week to think about it, every team in the comp knows he has a short fuse and if he doesn't learn to deal with players winding him up he will miss a few weeks to come.
  22. If Dion declares us his destination i think when push comes to shove they'll take that deal, but won't be happy about it.
  23. Brendan Bolten has done a fantastic job so far with Carlton, i still think their list is average but i think they're definitely on the right track.
  24. Well depends if you actually want to get him, the Suns wouldn't accept an early second rounder for an A grade player. they're be stupid if they did.
