  1. I strongly believe dion will nominate mfc as his preffered destination and the club will work out a deal without selling the farm.
  2. Also would you commit to this club when we have had so many false dawns? I think he is genuinely unsure and thats completely fine its a big decision
  3. I'm not denying he's a good player and would love him at the Dees as a player. I just have information that he's not hugely popular at the Lions, and players have left the club and felt very uncomfortable because of his leadership style and attitude in general. Given his sides performance though, i'm not surprised he's trying to lift the effort and so on, just suggesting some within the club feel he hasn't done it the right way and that, the fact he is somewhat injury prone and his asking price lead to a situation where the Lions are reluctant to re-sign their own captain.
  4. Word is rocky can be pretty brutal towards his team mates and some can't handle it. Very aggressive personnality/leadership style.
  5. Imagine how many teams would pay overs just to get players out of the top sides to get an advantage. and where does it leave contracts? are players going to start signing for 2.5 years?
  6. I have heard there is a little bit of interest in grabbing Grimes as a free agent from at least two AFL clubs, not sure if either will go ahead but Essendrug and the Brisbane Lions are a chance to give him a lifeline and i really hope one of them does.
  7. If Hurley leaves Essendon it will be a nightmare for the team he goes to to get the trade done, if it were us they'd want Brayshaw and Hogan as a starting point because they're totally deluded and overrate their players value by about 400%
  8. He'd be an amazing pick up, but i am 99.9% certain he will stay in Sydney and is just trying to drag a few extra dollars out of the Swans. would you accept the Swans first round pick and Gary Rohan for TMAC?
  9. IF Tmac did request a trade to the Swans what would be our asking price? i certainly see him as worth at least their first rounder, probably a little bit more. would you be comfortable with a three way trade TMAC to Syd - Syd 1st round pick &something else to Suns - Dion Prestia to MFC?
  10. Jesus Stuie, he clearly hadn't seen those posts, are you incapable of just ignoring posts like that or are you hardwired to have a dig at every opportunity?
  11. He's a very good player and shouldn't cost more than our second round pick, if we have to trade at all.
  12. I know Dawes isn't great at clunking marks and doesn't kick a lot of goals, but he has great footy smarts and works insanely hard to create space for his team. Jesse would love one v one rather than three v one
  13. While i see the point you're making, I don't include him in the next crop of emerging Saints ( Billings, McCartin and co ) which i feel lacks depth of talent, they have a couple of good looking players but our depth of quality in terms of our very young group is far superior and that's why i believe we're not only ahead now, but i think we'll be light years ahead in 3 years time.
  14. i thought until recently Weitering was certain to win the Rising star, and i think he probably still will but Gee Track is going to give it a real shake.
  15. I still think the Saints are behind us, simply because they rely more on their older players to win, Roo, Joey and Steven carry their team and i'm not sure their youngsters are anywhere near as good as ours. I think when Joey and roo retire we'll see the Saints slide back a little bit and the lack of top end talent exposed.
  16. Sorry should have said Shorter, in the days of the interchange cap the extra rest our boys have will prove to be an advantage in my opinion.
  17. I would just pick the freshest team we possibly can, crows have a short break coming off a tough game with North, we can gain a real advantage with Run if we're smart. I genuinely think we will win this game.
  18. I think it's foolish to think that any one game can define where a team is at in an overall sense, beating Hawthorn today wouldn't make up for the Suns losing consistently by 70 plus points this season.
  19. No chance, hasn't played all year, Mark my words the deal will be equal to a third round pick at most. Freo don't have a second round pick this year and there is no chance they're going to part with a top 10 pick unless GWS want to throw in Jonothan Patton or something else into the deal.
  20. Would be shocked if he didn't feel a fair bit of regret walking off after being belted by the Dees
  21. Had a really strong relationship with Bucks and i'd heard he wanted to play as a forward and Roosy had basically locked him in as a defender if he stayed. The irony being he's gone to a team behind us and is playing in defense after a short failed stint as a forward.
  22. I can't understand why a serious AFL footballer would re-sign with a club that wronged them so badly. i know some have been offered insane dollars but outside that there is no carrot, they're going to have to totally re-build
  23. I think he'll be better than his brother, not sure he'll be as good as SOS however.
  24. Jetta has underrated skills, Lumumba offers run and experience the other three it's hard to argue but they all should improve in this area over time, i think Frost and OMAC can develop into very good key defenders.
  25. It's an awful idea that destroys any notion of Equalization, players from lower clubs will be lining up at the door to get to the top sides. A mid season draft however could work, allowing sides to delist players and add in unsigned from state leagues or anyone delisted in that time.
