Predicting and epic battle between Viney and Wines in the middle, Gawn will be the reason Viney and the Dees win. Dees by 9 points
-
Unfortunately i think you might be right, however i think it will be 2017 first rounder and a fringe player, i can't see the club being willing to move on Salem, Kent or Brayshaw
-
I wouldn't be so sure, i think it would take a pretty special offer but i doubt they'd be totally untouchable, for example would you trade Christian Salem for Dion Prestia if there was no other option to land Dion?
-
I think Oscar is tracking along fine, he's still very much finding his feet at AFL level but for a pick 50 odd he looks like being one of our key defenders for the next decade.
-
If O'meara gets fit he is the best of those three by some distance, but that's a huge if, Prestia is an A grade inside/outside midfielder who has only shown patches due to injury, when he gets fit we'll see how good he really is, he's also a great leader and a great bloke. Kelly is a gun in a gun side, but he may never get the pay day he quite deserves at the Giants, the club has said multiple times we weren't going to take Kelly at pick two that year anyway, and we passed him in the mini draft as well, if he wants to move to Melbourne i doubt we'd be able to satisfy any trade demands without giving up a good player, it would take either two first round picks or one of Mcdonald/Gawn/Hogan/Viney to get a deal done and that's just not going to happen.
-
Yeah, if they demand a ready to go player that certainly makes it tougher to get a good deal done, unless they were willing to accept someone like Chris Dawes I think Alex Neal-Bullen is probably the most expendable option with value of the mids though i rate him and would prefer to keep him.
-
I think 2016 second rounder & 2017 first rounder for Prestia and a later pick would be a fair deal.
-
The Tigers really rate him internally, his training form is brilliant, he just can't translate it into games consistently yet, if we could get him and Macca and Goody could get him playing the way he trains he would be a massive bargain pickup, but i doubt he's going anyway.

Thinking Nev will be next

Signed i'd say, wouldn't rule out the possibility of three giant announcements before the Queens birthday game, Mcdonald, Jetta and Garlett.
-
Tommlinsons running power is far superior to any of the guys you've listed, he could play the Tom Lynch ( Crows ) role or even like a Roo role where he runs up and back and hits up at the ball. I really think he has the attributes to play as a running tall defender, he is racking up huge numbers in the seconds at the moment, though i know the competition isn't that strong. if we could get him for the right price i think he'd be a good pick up, certainly wouldn't be willing to give up much for him, which is why i think he'll go elsewhere at years end
-
Adam Tommlinson is a very talented key position player who isn't getting a look in at the Giants, we have a good relationship with GWS, Bugg, Frost and Tyson here already and wouldn't cost much at all imo

The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here
Ted Lasso replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
Oh i 100% agree that they need a full re-build 4-5 years of good picks through the system while Pav and co are there to teach them, they remind me quite a lot of us before out big spell at the bottom, they've left the rebuild a little to late. -

Agreed! it's disgusting! but lets be honest, if they're going to get Jesse Hogan for example it's going to take at least pick 1 and a player to even get us to consider trading him this year and they won't waste more than one year at the bottom if they have any say in it. -
I'd say a straight swap for Jack Viney, but i doubt that's enough, better throw in Jesse as well.

Funny the difference a year can make, 12 months ago Freo were undefeated premiership favourites, Nat Fyfe flying and though they had ageing stars i don't think anyone thought they'd fall away like they have. -
AFL need to look into Rhys Mathieson!
Ted Lasso replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
I liken the ducking to staging, a deliberate action to draw a free kick, i personally think it should be a free kick against the player who did it and every time a bloke ducks down the player should drive them into the ground hard and make them earn it -
Okay, that helps!

Another 100 plus point loss coming up to the Suns, last four games could easily equal a total four hundred points behind... how many teams have averaged 100 point losses over a four week period only playing one top 4 side in that time?
-
Disgusting.

Game is far from over, the Cats seem to have the run

What a strange game AFL is, the moment you think you are confident a team will win something goes pear shaped.

This is truly an amazing reaction to me saying nothing more than i rate one of our young players. I wasn't counting at the game, but i knew it was quite a lot, and they were good marks. I did hear a public comment that it was 11 so i just assumed that was correct, it was nothing more than that. Disappointing reaction, but that's Demonland i guess, i've been on here long enough to know what to expect. simple solution for those who don't like my posts, don't read them.

if he gets fit, he's a jet. definitely worth a phone call.
