  1. nope but if the game was forfeited...maybe
  2. worrying to say the least
  3. TV would not pay for a season without the usual finals and this year is all about the TV money and of course distracting the plebs from asking for a refund
  4. If my memory serves me right it was mutual. The centre square was the cricket pitch (Merri soil) and was roped off and often covered. This made training difficult so we would use the old Scotch Oval IIRC.Then we moved to Junction Oval
  5. This season is mainly irrelevant for the power clubs. Their memberships are full, they get the TV money and the variable... crowd receipts is irrelevant this year (you can't make money on socially distanced crowds). One more loss for the Eagles or the Crows and they may as well mothball a few players for the season For minnows like us we need to sell the hope of next season but I suspect that come round 7or so we'll be packing our tents.
  6. AFL General Council Andrew Dillon says Essendon will be forced to play games even if a number of players are in quarantine. Oh....the spelling.....................
  7. no different to the player who puts another player out of the game and is suspended for four weeks... Who benefits... the teams in the next four weeks
  8. only 16 players a side I think PS No 18... missed the pair in the goal square
  9. Now now LH...MFC always has to find an excuse for its failures....it's the norm (not even the new normal) ?
  10. Looks bad for Essendon from a playing perspective in the next two weeks... from the channel 7 report above... quoting the Chief Health Officer "If that individual (McKenna) has trained with such a number that they won’t be able to play, then that’s how they will have to proceed,” Sutton said. “But if they can manage with the existing player list, minus those close contacts, then they will proceed. “I think they are still working up the close contact list.”
  11. They always were at Metricon The time of the Suns match was delayed to give them a Sunday afternoon TV game in place of ours. TV rules..especially this season ridiculous that they can't stream our practice match because of broadcast rights
  12. sounds like an essential outing to me... no different to shopping etc which is allowed The guy has just returned from Ireland.... he needs to live somewhere
  13. I suspect he was looking for a rental.... sounds ok to me but he should have checked Suspension of player at worst Public scourging not necessary and unhelpful
  14. but we will be fresh after the week off
  15. pleasant result obviously we played Carlton into form including teaching the how to stop playing... mind you they left it till 3/4 time
  16. they were 24 hours away from the possibility of two teams being at risk. Was just luck that he was not selected to play Sydney last week(and I assume no scratch match) or that would have added two more teams at risk
  17. The game could be deferred until post season and would only be played if relevant to finals (That would be our luck...) WHEN WILL ESSENDON PLAY AGAINST MELBOURNE THIS YEAR? Although there is no official word from the AFL, the two teams can’t play this week for the reasons outlined above. But with shortened quarters, there is every possibility the Dons and Dees will meet mid-week or even after the home and away season and before finals. FoxFooty
  18. So Weid will be back on the MCG !! I think some footage is in order please MFC
  19. Pies v Saints Now ten minutes into fourth quarter Last goal scored...6minutes into third quarter ....... yawn (in fact few scores at all) PS and at the 15 minute mark Pies score a goal
  20. don't think so A teacher tested positive. A player's child went to the same school. Game was delayed to allow the player to be tested https://7news.com.au/sport/rugby-league/nrl-match-postponed-for-covid-19-check-c-1099534
  21. depends how you look at it. In theory you trace and test 3 levels of contact. He's 1. His team mates are 2 Swans are level 3
  22. just checked... he didn't play
  23. Given that the players are all in very closely managed bubbles the immediate source should "in theory" not be too hard to find
  24. If as Whispering Jack has said Essendon have to serve a two week isolation (they also played the Swans last week who have just played North) then the season is seriously compromised. It can be caught up but ....
  25. correct... interesting as to where he picked it up Luckily we have that world class contact tracing app
