The clubs are desperate for the money and it underlines how parlous the comp is relative to the big money comps overseas. If the TV companies void their contract then life becomes interesting.

I expect the AFL will give the clubs say a month's notice of an intended restart. Until then players will stay home like the rest of us. The May 31 date is just a guess as we all know

well that season didn't last long. You wonder whether they will cancel the game this afternoon. It seems rather pointless given the South Australian lock down. WA will be the next one to announce similar rules and of course Qld.

The "rebuild" will also be in the environment of a new TV rights deal which may not deliver as much money as it has in the past. Channel 7 is almost broke as are the other FTA companies and Foxtel are tired of bleeding money.

Small thing... like many have had lots of flights cancelled on me recently and have been offered refunds etc but I had an internal flight cancelled in Greece. Because it was a budget booking I can only get a credit voucher to use on another flight. No refund option like all the other airlines. Strange... I thought the EU had all these wonderful consumer protection laws.

Fibre is the way for domestic use for the next few years at least. 5G has a role but it will be in the internet of things and is really only for densely populated cities at least in the short term. The NBN has been a complete stuff up for so many reasons.

I find it a welcome distraction from the constant doom and gloom now being pumped out 24 hours a day. If anything it reminds me that it is merely a game to be enjoyed. Sure it probably will only last a few more rounds but lets savour it while we can.

the AFL are going to keep the Docklands roof open so they don't fall foul of the 100 people inside an indoor venue rule. Crown casino considers each of its rooms a venue so you just put sets of ten people in a sponsors box and problem solved.
