  1. Travis made time stand still when on song. His ability to swerve and thus find space followed by perfect delivery was something to watch.
  2. MFCSS tempers any excitement. Even if he has six decent games we'll all be wondering if a breakdown is just around the corner. More likely a "decent' season and then we are forced to pay over the odds for a 3 year contract .... and we know what happens. Let's hope for some joy
  3. There seems to some anecdotal evidence to that affect. Would be interesting to see his handballs to free up a player. One also needs to remember when comparing him with Diesel Williams that 30 possessions a game is now extremely common for a midfielder. The new measure for outstanding is closer to 40. Both with Gawn and Oliver the coaching staff need to devise tactics to leverage their skills
  4. Development failure.... the player was solid gold See Travis Johnstone Dustin Martin was a way harder challenge
  5. Could be ... I would be favouring a chateauneuf du pape to accompany the repast... (suitably disguised in a retro thermos of course.)
  6. It was definitely worth a look and was probably a better location than Docklands. Summer cricket, local council and the incumbent club spring to mind as possible issues along with limited room for expansion and cost of the land.On the other hand much more realistic than the Jolimont Park plan and deserves to be considered notwithstanding the blinkered views of our Board.
  7. Harmes 2020 = Fritsch 2019 Need one say more
  8. Agree unless Weideman can contribute, our forward structure is questionable. Why he was played in the ruck again is a puzzle. Sure it gives him a chance to get the ball but rucking is not what he is paid for.
  9. Weideman rucking according to the AFL report. Not promising. Did Preuss play?
  10. In the link below there are shots of a match sim at Casey. It clearly shows a large development on the fifty metre line at the Berwick end. Anyone have some details?
  11. The measure of a good coach surely is the maximisation of the talent of his list by various means including gameplans etc. Can anyone really say that Goodwin has done that? Let's not forget the final round of 2017 which in its own way showed us the measure of this coach. 2018 was a six odd game streak coinciding with amazing not to be repeated form of Brayshaw. The next four games will tell us but let's not forget the Board who I have no love for has said that finals in 2020 is a must.
  12. Is that prosciutto I see next to the avocado?
  13. Definitely ... straight to the Hall of fame for "Our Gill" if not a Legend !! Perhaps a statue as well.
  14. Hellish could you imagine the unsupervised riff raff being allowed unsupervised into a super box. We are of course.. Melbourne ... but we do have supporters who cannot ski let alone know their pinot from a cabernet !!
  15. The exemption in NSW is justified on the "pub rule" namely the boxes are no different to a pub where you can have up to fifty people in one room provided there is 4 sq metre per person etc. The MCG probably has at least one hundred odd "rooms and boxes"of varying sizes. The problem is that it would not be a good look if the corporates got in but the fans did not. Then again..what's new.
  16. Breaking news.....NSW Govt gives NRL permission for fans to attend games from next week. Details to follow
  17. Broncos did have a large number of outs but it was an amazing outcome. Given the first and second try were in the first ten minutes I doubt that even the Broncos manic supporters would have made a difference. The broadcasters will be very upset as the Broncos are the Collingwood of the NRL
  18. hell I must be bored...... https://morsecode.world/international/translator.html
  19. They got the crowd noise so wrong tonight. If it had been a Broncos crowd there would have been dead silence. Forced laughter came to mind.
  20. who knows... it is such a strange and contrived deal (almost Alan Bond like) anything could happen. If they were businesses it would be like round robin invoicing commonly used to pump up revenues but surely the parties couldn't be that desperate. .
  21. There is already the call for a similar subsidy to go to the Docklands clubs and I'm sure the interstate clubs will not be far behind. A strange deal to say the least. Could do with a little more transparency.
  22. This was raised but just in the context of scratch matches. Do you have a recent source. Cannot see how they would allow them to be played as curtain raisers given ground conditions. Also hard to see how full teams could be fielded given the usual run of injuries.
  23. Reminds me of the pea and shell game....Need some more details as to why
  24. The money comes from the absence of the drop in membership if we keep him. Pass mark is 8 wins. That's being kind.
  25. That's the likely team but it's very conservative. Five odd players who on recent form don't deserve a game but reputation gets them selected. O what we would give for a pre season resumption hit out.
