  1. Might be a bit too much for mass LED screens but you could project the various cheer squads assuming you could get over all the image and privacy issues. Perhaps just fill the stands with imaginary animals. It definitely needs something.
  2. CGI coverage of the stands has been a possibility for years. They did it at a rugby union game years ago. It's the MCC who is against it.... they own the ground advertising rights. They had apoplexy at the time
  3. why the usual half time break? Thought they all wanted to shorten it and it was only kept so the fans could get to the toilet etc....No fans ...so
  4. you can get a gig speed for another ten dollars a month but none of my computers etc are powerful enough to take advantage of the speed even if I could find something that needed it. Just went down to the pool and the local authorities have ordered all pools closed plus our gymn.....grrrrrrrr life in Paradise may not be so perfect after all.
  5. Brown Weideman and Jackson named in the interchange....interesting. Spargo named in the team..what do you know....Old Dee will be happy !! Will be a miracle if we win this one
  6. Think the Gold Coast my friend. Definitely not the Solomons A big condo right on the beachfront with a full size pool. Life's not tough here I can assure you. Did I mention the 500Mb speed fibre internet for A$40 a month (kayo via the VPN) and of course there's always the bum gun in every toilet if you run out of toilet paper. Take care.
  7. In Malaysia at present. Markets are well stocked and the supermarkets (there are not that many) are well stocked including loads of toilet paper. Have made the decision to stay in our holiday house for the next few months. Malaysian government closed all non essential businesses the day before yesterday.Travel outside your house is supposed to be limited. In a country that exists for coffee shops and food courts some are finding it a challenge.
  8. Have never seen politicians creating such panic as as have the PM and the even worse state premiers. Andrews..." we will hit the worst in June when thousands of patients will need intensive care" Riddle me this...why should the per capita result be much worse than China which extrapolates to a total case number of less than 0.001% Even if we get ten times what China reported so say 0.01%.(26000 Australian total) with deaths one twentieth of that. Where do you get "thousands in Victoria alone needing intensive care" when the published data shows that most will not require hospitalisation. ( Please excuse if I have some zeros in the wrong place but the basic premise holds true)

you cannot carry four injury plagued players as a team. One yes..two maybe but four?? Have been saying for weeks this is a team management issue and we are sadly lacking. Hopefully in this stuffed up year we can get the balance right because as others have said I doubt we will see a full season anyway.
  10. Tasmania just announced it's requiring everyone from the mainland to self isolate if they come to the State. Lucky there's no Tasmanian team
  11. Qantas cancelling all international flights from end of March to at least the end of May, Cuts.... yes... but total cancellation ???????
  12. On that score we could actually make more money playing at Casey as we would have a clean stadium unlike the MCG where the bulk of the ground advertising goes to the MCC. This is why Geelong do so well out of their Kardinia Park deal and there were such heated negotiations over the new Perth stadium.
  13. The walls designed by Da Vinci are worth the visit alone. Spent two weeks there a couple of years ago in an apartment. A very special place. Stay safe... and yes very clean.. the first time I had ever seen ladies driving the garbage trucks !!!
  14. This shortened quarter rubbish was I think mentioned also by Eddie everywhere. He also mentioned six interchange so they could play three games in two weeks, double headers etc
  15. Casey ground could do with a decent long term tree planting scheme. The grass verges behind the goals are pleasant (albeit no shade or wind protection) but the rest of the ground is pedestrian to say the least.
  16. the first four rounds will remain as fixtured.... then it goes to the remaining 13 games One of our first four rounds is interstate. Luckily revenue wise none of them are big crowd draws as they are unlikely to have physical crowds. The fifth scheduled game is the Suns in Qld (??) and then our financial test ??? Tigers on Anzac Eve. Cannot see that one being taken away from us. After that who knows
  17. A 17 round season does us no favours given the biased draw we attracted due to our terrible 2019. so that is no second game against... Suns, Freo Saints Pies and Adelaide..3 of those are potentially interstate so hopefully we lose them rather than the home fixture.
  18. Haven't heard anything from the broadcast rights holders. Not sure they would thrill to compressed seasons etc and would certainly have their hand out for a discount as would sponsors etc etc. Personally I'd move the whole league to say Alice Springs and play in a virtual bubble for the next six weeks. There's a nice big and very secure defence facility just outside Alice that would welcome them all. Thought the way they ditched the AFL "to cut costs" (Eddie's words) was a little cruel.
  19. Not sure that AFL football played in front of zero crowds is any more dangerous than a multitude of workplaces not to mention schools, hospitals etc. If the players want to call it off fine...but it's leave without pay. You can't scream professionalism and then say it's only a game when it suits. Harsh but true. On a somewhat related note how dumb is Queensland insisting on holding its council elections the week after next and fining people if they don't vote !!
  20. Fascinating read.... A vaccine....perhaps next year... https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/15/when-will-a-coronavirus-vaccine-be-ready-human-trials-global-immunisation It’s for these reasons that taking a vaccine candidate all the way to regulatory approval typically takes a decade or more, and why President Trump sowed confusion when, at a meeting at the White House on 2 March, he pressed for a vaccine to be ready by the US elections in November – an impossible deadline. “Like most vaccinologists, I don’t think this vaccine will be ready before 18 months,” says Annelies Wilder-Smith, professor of emerging infectious diseases at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. That’s already extremely fast, and it assumes there will be no hitches.
  21. FWIW I find this interest in these young people unhealthy. Let them grow and if they happen to come our way.... embrace them. Moreover... best of luck in whatever they pursue
  22. PM just announced a NZ type travel ban. All arrivals from overseas required to self isolate. What it means in practice.... who knows
  23. Has there been a credible explanation as to how Italy has ended up with 21,000 cases of CV. After China with 80,000 it is so far above the numbers in other countries. Good news is that China cases are down to between 10 and 20 a day so there's some light at the end of the tunnel.
  24. sorry I didn't realise the ban had hit the Alice. Stay safe to you and your family RG
  25. Definitely worthy of a cood a beens rendition !!!
