It's funny how any one who is slow needs to model themselves on Mitchell. What people fail to mention is that Mitchell is amazing with his sidestep, agility to move in any direction and be balanced to kick on either feet. His range/point of attack gives him options and time. Not sure Trengove has that.

Other Media outlets has reported that for a long time already. Barrett is solid but it makes me sick how he is presented as the best in the business, newbreaker BS. It's not that Barrett's good, it's just that everyone else in the media is worse. He makes educated guesses as much as anyone to fill content.

Liam Sumner from GWS. Played 15 games in 3 years. Top ten pick who has had injury interrupted career. Hard running mid with decent skill. Contracted but will be on the cheap Liked Nathan Wilson game when he played against us. Great speed and decent skills. Has done 0 v everyone else though. Jesse Lonergan has had injury interrupted 2 years. Contracted but may need a new start with omeara, ablett, swallow, prestia, martin etc

Ironic. Stef Martin has stepped up. Leuy is a gun but body has succumbed to injury. He is a good player so clubs will pay for him. Why wouldn't the lions have a look at the market price with Stef stitched up?

Geelong have been grooming him to be the number one run-with. Lost his place to injury so I doubt GFC would want that trade.

Cracked the sads when he wasn't in the finals. When geelong did give him the chance to be first ruck, he was shown to be not good enough. And then sold to Brisbane where he would play if Luey went down. A backup but nothing more. Pass.

Disagree. MFC and Casey relationships hasn't been easy with Casey making top 4 and MFC withdrawing players in finals. Casey coaches have also moved on after short stints and the feeling is this isn't an alignment. Style of play has also been an issue and trying to get consistency in the player positions. Wish we had our own reserves but we look to be locked in Casey agreement so issues need to be sorted.

Josh Kelly is streets better then Petracca and we traded down last year. Hoping we trade.

Depends on how you grade them. In my mind he sits alongside players like Mundy, Marc Murphy, Priddis, A Swallow. All quality players but just below A grade. A grades are Dangerfield, Watson, Fyfe, JPK, Selwood. All better players then Jones. Pendles and Ablett are in a different cat altogether.

Yep, Really surprised how so many people can't see talent. Salem's got good skills, does the little things well, clean, WINS contests and from an outside perspective, work ethic looks solid. Even opposition fans recognize Salem as a talented prospect.

FWIW Tom Mitchell is keen to return back to Vic. Carlton are in to him but no preference. He is contracted so clubs will need to satisfy Swans. Reid is also highly paid and could be squeezed bcause of Buddy and Tippett's pay. Would like another pick 30's or 40's but Pick 3 and 21 for Reid and Mitchell is a fair trade IMO.

Kent is an interesting one. He has tools to be a good player (quick, strong, tough, generally good kick, generally good hands) but as a MFC player, he can go the other way too. Def keep but he needs a bigger tank and quality coaching (can do the good things really well but some of the simple things, he just doesn't put enough care cause it's a simple kick/handball)

He has had three coaches try different things to extract his competitive spirit. Three coaches and we are still trying to find his position. IMO we've gone past trying to find a position for him to where can we hide Jack Watts. Where can we hide him so his deficiency isn't so glaring and we can use his skills. Yes he is an outside player but outside players need to win contests too. Too often, 50-50, even 70-30 contest, Watts just can't win them. Watts tackles but he never has any momentum in tackles. He does what some big kids do in u10's. bigger kids in u10's tend to stop and then wrap their arms around so they won't hurt the opposition. This is the big leagues Jack, tackle with some intent.

You have to be joking. MFC is crying out for a forward all year to support Dawes. We even shifted our former AA FB to play forward. Come on. Pedersen out this week. Still no Fitz. 3. What. Fitz has been better this year then last. I give up.

You would hope that's how clubs trade. Sell at the top dollar. I wanted Fitz traded cause he was surplus to Hogan, Dawes and Clark and that was his top value. Disappointing a trade wasn't made.

Agree. Thank christ Lyon has no involvement in our club. Revenge trading is one of the most stupid things a club could do. I know Motlop was used as an example and while he is a beautiful player, paying him 700K is irresponsible. HE finishes a lot of good work at Geelong but would look terrible at MFC.

Doubt pick 3, 4 for GWS Cameron and Shiel would do it. No brainer from our end if that's the case. Since Cameron is contracted, gun and different type to Patton and Boyd, GWS will want both 3 and 4 for him. Prob something like Pick 3 + Pick 4 for Cameron and GWS Pick 22? (their second round pick). Would anyone pull the trigger on that? Love Cameron but not sure.

A poster recently pointed out how awful we are because both Geelong and Freo (who belted us in the past 2 weeks) got smashed by the Saints and GWS ran Geelong close. That was his evidence to show how inept and far off we are compared to every other team. Mind-blowing logic but let's have a look at our season rather then team X beat team Y so Team X is way better then MFC. We have 4 wins to date. R4 Carlton, R7 Adelaide, R9 Richmond, R13 Essendon. 4 games we really should've won. Rd 1 v Saints, Rd 8 Bulldogs, R15 Bulldogs, Rd 18 PA. Winning positions late in those games but couldn't get it done. Plenty of skill errors/decision making but some shoddy umpiring decisions compounded the problem. 5 games we got close (pushed) but never looked like winning it. R5 GC -8, R11 Power -20, R6 Sydney -31, R12 Pies -33, R3 GWS -32 4 games we were beaten all over the park and scoreboard R2 WCE, R16 Freo, R17 Geelong, R14 North So 4 games out of 17, we were not up to scratch. Hardly "so far off the competition, it's not funny" We are doing this with only Jones, Tyson, Cross and Vince as our "trusted" mids. We need to build on that list (Viney, Riley, Toumpas, Trengove, Salem, Kent, Michie need to step up). But clearly this season is a pass and something we can build on.

Absolutely. Billy should be doing everything he can to get drafted as high as possible. He should be seeking to improve himself every time he is on field. If a team bids a late first round, so be it. That means he's worthy of a early 2nd round. No one wastes their first rounder to spite other clubs.
