  1. The doggies are a great defensive team. The stats prove that. Etihad skewed? Maybe but they contested poession team as well. Key match up. Tommac on Jesse stringer. String is a gun but struggles against bigger opponents who can go with him on the ground. Stratton has got his number.
  2. Roos erred when choosing the team v saints. Shouldn't make the same mistake. Oliver got rested so wouldn't be surprised if hunt and Wagner got theirs. In. Salem. Prince Out. Wagner. Hunt
  3. Carlton fans are still doing their nut that Hogan beat cripps for the rising star n hated the explanation that a good big man is better then a good small man. Imagine the irony if petracca or Oliver beats weitering. I can almost taste the tears
  4. Vberg is also out with an ankle
  5. With less rotations, having players who can only play 65% or less is carrying them. We need to get cp or Oliver game time higher to fit both imo.
  6. loser is harsh but there were clear opportunities for fringe players to cement spots. jayden hunt, neal bullen, stretch, grimes, omac did not grasp that chance. harmes, mjones, kennedy, bugg all did
  7. even better. jesse hogan is one of those players who thrives on a chip on the shoulder n proving hes the best. like mj. when commentators said drexler? was better cause he was much better 3 pointer shooter, mj came out and drained 5 treys in the first quarter of that final.
  8. The two players who I wasn't sure about best 22 made a solid case today. James Harmes looked like he belonged and made good decisions. Ben Kennedy was good and won the 50-50. Both Harmes and Kennedy set up/involved in MFC good passages of play.
  9. Jack Watts 2008 draft. Height:196cm Weight: 85kg Position: Key Forward Team: Sandringham Dragons Jack got up to 91kgs a few years ago but stripped off some weight to play mid/wing. SAm looks to attack at the ball in the air or looks in control in marking contests. Time will tell if he is better then Ben Griffiths.
  10. People are obssessed with Jesse Stringer prototype. He is not Jesse Stringer. Looks slower and has little form to suggest he will be a midfielder.
  11. Not tall enough to be a KPP and no form to show he will be a midfielder. Are we happy to draft Jared Rivers at 3?
  12. Anyone who is small and slow gets the Sam Mitchell tag. Sam is a freak and while he succeeded, hundreds with Sam's physique have failed. Red flags everywhere.
  13. I prefer high draft picks to have a distinct physical attribute. Either Speed and/or Strength. You can point out others who have similar dimensions Sam Mitchell, Callan Ward 183cm/71kg etc who have succeeded but they were low risk picks.
  14. Francis at 3 and Oliver at 7. Doesn't matter if he is rated 10-15, if we want him, we get him 7.
  15. I never really saw what everyone did in Scully, Toump, Morton but they were the obvious choice. Going with gut and saying pass.
  16. Very similar to Josh Toy too. Toy was highly rated. Big body. Strong. Beautiful kick. He too was a flanker who should develop into an AFL midfielder. MFCSS Player comparison.
  17. Would be nice if the highlights showed where the ball went after he kicked it. Looked good though.
  18. The narrative will be: the player we are really keen on won't slip past 3 and the player we were looking 6 will be available at 10. Happy with the deal.
  19. Spot on. People need to stop looking at Jimmy's number (pick 4) and look at him as a player. I was hoping he might turn good but nothing I saw warranted anything but blind hope. In fact posters were blowing up when we traded Morton a pick 4 for pick 88.
  20. Another disgraceful sokkah crowd incident. Disgusting.
  21. Hartlett is 26yo and it has taken him 7 years to reach 100 games due to injury. His value IMO is watered down. Pick 6 and they must take MJones and DTerlich.
  22. Agree. Staged, did dirty things on field and got looked after by the tribunal which soured his career. He was a jet in his day and should be remembered as that.
  23. Really question posters when they say, "at least he's better then XXX". How is that a reason to get someone. Jace Bode is better then Isaac Weetra. Dean Terlich is better then Jace Bode. Anyone happy with those players. Do player X make us a better 22/team? I think Melksham will help us but he will be a role player. So not for a pick 6 or 22. 3rd rounder is fair.
  24. Interesting about Dunn and Watts. They have a lot in common. Both players who have played every position but never owned one. Will probably take Watts 10 +years for the penny to drop too. Kent has A grade attributes but has never sustained a stretch of games. Gets injured regularly hence poor tank. He has to be a question mark. Don't really disagree with much.
  25. Spot on. Beaten twice. Second time embarrassingly. We've got no leg to stand on. Beaten by Carlton and Essendon at their lowest ebb too. We really should've had 11. It really isn't good enough.
