  1. #2 for rags to riches Jetta to find his new spot and be a solid back pocket. on the other side. Strauss, Tapscott. I'm hoping rather then seeing.
  2. But don't get sucked into the spin. Fact is Buckley has Dawes on the outer with their signing of Qlynch. That combined with his putrid form has his value bottoming out so all this talk of Maggies wanting more then pick 20 is a joke. Pick 20 is prob a bit rich considering where the maggies have him placed on the pecking order. I think he had a down year and could be a player for us but for god sakes MFC don't roll over in the trade. Pick 20, MFC will need Maggies 2nd pick. Pick 40ish back but prefer player trade involving Stef Martin somwhere.
  3. This is the deal that would be fair. Pick 4 is overs. IMO Dawes has the attributes to turn it around ala Tom Hawkins and might need that fresh start.
  4. [censored]. I bet you would be one who would've said Joel MacDonald would be top 12 at MFC 3 years ago too. Sick of MFC supporters who think just because player X is less [censored] then player y, let's say Bate for instance, we should recruit player x. Stiller is shuffling deck chairs.
  5. Darling didn't have a good year in his draft year. Was a beast in previous u17 etc. Question marks were put to his height. undersized in AFL. He was a big body in u18 yet was continually beaten by the other kids, how can he go in the next level? He was a great speculation pick cause he had upside but no one had the balls to pick him in the first round.
  6. Neeld has mentioned he sees a Dale Thomas type in Howe. Needs some polish in Howe but i can see that.
  7. Maybe but Dean Bailey was keen to turn around Travis Johnstone and play him off the halfback. Traded within months. Can't see how this Sylvia is different (age/talent/price) to TJ. Mind you posters were against TJ being traded. Pfft
  8. Hahaha. So true. Poll needed. If every club selected perfectly every time every year, who wins?
  9. Martin should fetch a good price from Hawks, Pies, Saints, Cats. I like Stef Martin for Wellingham. Pies get that ruck and we get a good midfielder. Hawks. Maybe a Shane Savage. Saints Maybe a Sipposs. Cats ???.
  10. Every year. People have saved this template. Insert the "coach" or "year".
  11. If he did that, it would cost a pick 4. People scoff at Caddy's ave 15 disposals. Trengove ave 17. if you were another club, you would scoff at Trengove and not pay pick 13 because of his year? Caddy will be good value at 13.
  12. Fair enough Davis doesn't fit big picture but what is the point of JMac or Dunn. I prefer Troy Davis over those two any day. Sheahan is an interesting prospect. Looks like a player but in the 2 games i've seen him, he has played a good one and played a stinker played out the game. Don't know which is the real Jai.
  13. Nail on head there. WE hang on to bit-part players who could've, should've, didn't. Stef hasn't crossed to that last line so this could be the last chance to sell high. He still has attributes that clubs are craving for. Sell high if I've ever seen one.
  14. Goddard FA. cost nothing at trade wise. Wants 700k. Sign ASAP. Saying Goddard is not worth more the Clark last year when that deal went down is wrong. Clark had played one really good year and that was as ruck. I did question Clark and his price tag last year. I was wrong. We need quality players in. We bemoan lack of senior players/quality. How could we not look at Goddard?
  15. Looks like a nice player but that is embarassing
  16. Complicates things. Out Green retired Joel Macdonald hard, tough, tries hard. not good enough. Bennell some good attributes but NQR basket Dunn. LC. Bate. Like him but times up. Moloney. Papers looked to be stamped. Petterd. Papers stamped. Sellar. Tom Mac has got his spot. Troy Davis gets another year. Sylvia - Trade Martin - Trade A few others like Spencer, Jetta are 50/50. Bartram/Jurrah Unfortunately a wait and see. Our kids aren't kids any more. Next year Jones 25, Bail 25, Frawley 25, Garland 25, Fitzpatrick 22, Blease 22, Watts 22, Gysbert 22, Trengove 22, Tapscott 22, Grimes 23, Strauss 23, Jetta 23, Howe 23, McKenzie 23, Morton 24. You can't hide behind being young forever. Time to step up or get out.
  17. That doesn't add up. 6 is def not enough. We've got 4 early picks. IMO we should use the next 3 picks after that. One or two mature agers. Then there is Magner, Nicholson, Evans. I think worthy upgrades. one may stay RL? We are clearly chasing a FA, maybe 2. A preseason draft pick as well? See ya Dunn.
  18. True but i don't see 30 must cut. I can see 8-12 at max I would prefer we try to find a Saad, Gibson then keep list cloggers.
  19. Yep. Knights is a less talented Sylvia. He was a middle of a road midfielder who would turn the ball over with poor fieldkicking. Reinvented himself as a HFF who just demolished 55m goals. Has disappeared again. Will not trade for or pay big money in FA but see merit in the moneyball theory for him.
  20. Tick, tick, tick, tick. List clogger don't survive without some talent. Dunn has it in spades. Mindblowing 80% say keep.
  21. It's just sad when posters say player X is not good enough but there is someone worse. If you're not good enough, cut them both. Dunn is a spud. End of season games are junk games for crap teams. Have noted his career rather then junk games in contract years.

    Josh Toy

Don't think he's a timid kid but he definitely has the 'game is to be played on my terms' outlook. He can't find that balance with attacking and defending but we need good kicks in our back half. Outside the box something like Pick 3,4 + Sylvia? for Caddy, Mckenzie, Toy and Pick 2.
  23. Considering he was injured for most of last year, he has had a decent year. People want to see more and Caddy to dominate but if that were the case, we would be looking to cough up pick 3. Posters rave about Viney's attack. Caddy has that. Pick 12 n Martin for Caddy might be a touch overs so maybe a Pick 12 n Martin for Caddy and GC pick 22. It if comes to push and shove, i would give up 12 and Martin for Caddy.
  24. QUALITY KEY players. HFF are the easiest positions to cover with youngsters. We need some leaders in the engine room.
  25. I'm not sure what makes people think Sylvia has such low trade value. He is an explosive talent and teams jostling for the cup will love to have him. IMO Late 1st round pick is attainable. Maybe slightly higher. Sylvia has been lucky that there has been 3 turnover of coaches. Cause the new coach always think that they will be the one to turn Col Sylvia. Sure we need mature bodies but we need them to be leaders too. It's time Sylvia is traded while he still has value.
