With the Hawks tanking and something not right at GWS it's hard to see us making it. Destiny as always was in our own hands but now we rely on others. Will be a miracle to make it from here but miracles do happen.

You need to understand that forward pressure is not just tackling. We missed him against Freo...
  3. Great player 'dazz'...somethings not right at GWS at the moment. The list they have v the footy they'e playing. I guess we're the team to play them back into form. Was there some animosity about the way he got the Captaincy??? Whatever it is he's struggled to get back form after a long lay off with injury. To answer the question posed...would I have him? Yes, of course. Is he on the market? I highly doubt it.

Does Nev go to Greene 'titan'??? he's got the physical strength and game smarts, Greene is not lightning. Surely we wouldn't play Hunt or Salem on him. Maybe Smith but I hope not.
  5. Someone of that stature definitely. ...but maybe someone who was going to stick around for the long haul. Not put a time limit on it. Maybe we were so focussed on Roos we overlooked someone else. Maybe we should have got a longer commitment from Roos or moved on to another target if he couldn't/wouldn't give it.
  6. Hindsight is a wonderfull thing. Many may not agree but the Roos appointment may not have been such a great move. We were so keen to get him that he came totally on his terms, the big one being his expiry date. Because of this I suspect some decisions were rushed. Dew was the man he wanted but it turned out we couldn't get him. Time was running short and we went for Goodwin, someone that Roos didn't know. Loved Jackson but I think he had tunnel vision in the pursuit of Roos and it maybe costing us now. Of course this has then been compounded by Bartletts decision to extend the Goodwin contract.

'dazz', I think he is a 3rd tall type. He would be competing with Melk, Fritsch and Hannan..and would be an upgrade in his attack on the ball. He's a bit taller but still really not a KPF. Not sure he's where we should be spending our chips.

That's garbage 'Dr'...our forward line worked so much better with him in it.

Did anyone know that Duggan is from Bacchus Marsh and was coached by Dougie Hawkins??? Who would have guessed.

Ummm...I'm not sure where you come to this conclusion. Of course he does.

Seems to spend a lot of time injured. Ideal for EFC...replacement in rehab for Joe.
  12. he's not saying that...it was a proposition I posted. What if Cerra wanted to return to Melbourne? There has been discussion in the past, would we give up Brayshaw as part of the deal. Would we look at another club that wants what we have to get what we need. Say Carlton or EFC...
  13. Roos - A costly failure
  14. He's running the VFL now I think, looking at a management side of football rather than coaching. ...but wouldn't mind trying to get him to take over the FD and succession plan for Pert's job. He doesn't BS and can judge a list...North should have listened to him.
  15. Langdon - Played wrong side...(side of the ground in the first Q)
  16. Clarkson...
  17. I was a big wrap for him as a junior. Certainly worth a look. Depends...they have needs and he's only fringe for them and being played out of position.
  18. It's one part personnel and another part coaching I reckon 'Earl'... I've been avoiding this one for a while but I think it's becoming apparent we need to lose one of Brayshaw or Viney. My preference would be to lose Viney but I'm not sure of the value there as he's a free agent. Let's say we could trade Brayshaw for Cerra, would that be a good move?
  19. Ok, this is a load of bollocks. A lot of games for us this year have been so called line in the sand games. We've won more of them, Hawthorn (they were still a threat when we played them), Collingwood, St Kilda, Adelaide (I know, but how many expected we would be the ones to lose this one...well done Hawthorn) for example...than we've lost. Sydney is the only gimme we've lost this year. The big issue we have is no depth on our list and not enough spread of talent across the ground. When we have to run out with the likes of Smith, Spargo, Omac, Melksham, Tommy Mac, Jones, Hannan, ANB, AVB, Lockhart etc.. then we are going to get mixed results. It means too much is left to too few and those too few get tired of carrying the load. The secondary issue is with the FD and selection of the team. I don't think they've used the limited resources very well. I think probably a bigger issue is their building of the list.

Well there you go...I think Jobe is dreadful, states the obvious time and again. Adds nothing. The eye of the beholder.
  21. Yep, as I said earlier... Dimwit...a poor impersonation of someone in charge.
  22. It's what happens when the club leaves the adults at home...and the kids in charge.
  23. He worked his a... off all night covering for his teammates who didn't show. The 3rd Q it looked like the Swans v Langdon, the kid tried to get us back in the game but had to carry way too many.

We missed Pickett...needed his point of difference, forward pressure & work rate.
  25. Who cares...
