  1. We had stability with the Stynes and McLardy boards.... Stability is not an end in itself. What we need are the best people in the right positions... Hopefully we have that.
  2. What a strange comment...and post by the way. Talk about Trumpism...you've made some very odd accusations. If you read my first post you would see that I said I was disappointed with the result but we move on. Dear Donald had to be moved on kicking a screaming. Maybe not but it's always good to have a different set of eyes...I would have preferred that but it didn't fall the way I would have liked, no big deal, we move on. I wasn't alluding to any significant influence by the way... It would have been good to have another stable presence that wasn't hand picked by the current board.
  3. Like the Football Department it was time to get another view... It's unhealthy to keep with the status quo for too long, particlulary when we don't have results to show. I don't think having one new board member that hasn't been hand selected by the board would lead to instability unless they had something to hide.
  4. I'm a bit disappointed in this result...but we move on.
  5. I think you find similar results with most fascist dictators no matter the brand they attach.
  6. I guess he got the a... so that's pretty close to Rear...
  7. I'm not an Australian history buff 'Biff' but wasn't this policy drafted and set up by the Protectionist Party of Barton and Deakin? Just asking for a friend.
  8. What's that got to do with anything? Is it a good enough reason to maintain the status quo? They do it, so why not us... Shouldn't we aspire to be better?
  9. I don't know him, never met him so don't know whether I like him or not. He comes across as a bit of a merchant banker but it doesn't mean he doesn't have a case, it doesn't mean he wasn't subjected to the abuse he says he has. Take the personality out of it and look at the issue. ...and as for the aboriginal friends and understanding how racism works, I think you only truly know if you walk in their shoes.
  10. Of course he can go up forward but that wasn't the point of the post...our good friend the doctor seemed to imply that Goodwin had no idea playing him as a defender, his natural position.
  11. Spot on 'Cranky'...Petty played his junior footy as a defender and came to the club as such...
  12. I think they've taken a calculated risk on Rosman... JT likes the calculation, this was exactly the draft to take one out of left field with not a lot of exposed form in 2020...
  13. Agree 'Macca'...you only need to read some Facebook posts that have been nicely stirred up by media interests in regard to Lumumba to see how far off it we are. A long, long way unfortunately..
  14. Must agree with Lumumba here...it appears the AFL & Collingwood are hiding behind the women. Pretty average I think. Be nice to have some real leadership...but as' @old dee' says, it's not likely under the current leadership or any future version of the old boys club... https://thenewdaily.com.au/news/national/2021/02/08/lumumba-collingwood-racism/?utm_source=Adestra&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Morning News - 20210209
  15. An interesting article on the AFL approach to racism... Pretty much mirrors my comments above. It's more about brand management than anything else. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-02-07/joel-wilkinson-the-afl-and-the-search-for-racial-justice/12825394
  16. Name one person who isn't and I'll show you a dead man...
  17. I actually agree with you 'jnrmac'... We have been the Kings of excuses. ...but I don't think any excuse will be able to bail out Goody if we have another poor season. The Prez has pretty much flagged this Kane shouldn't be too concerned.
  18. Interesting hearing Virginia Trioli interview Taylor Adams this morning. A real interviewer asking pertinent questions that our footy journos wouldn't even come close to asking. She threw the grenades and let them hang out there for a bit but in the end let him off the hook. He's not the sharpest tool but did his best to tow the company line. A rabbit in the spotlight. She didn't go in for the kill but left enough out there for you to draw the conclusion...
  19. What's Dusty got to do with anything???
  20. Hypocrisy is part of the human condition, we're all hypocrites. So what's your point???
  21. I'm guessing it wasn't Goodwin so maybe we can narrow it down to 17...
  22. I like this combination...I think it worked well in the few games they played together last year. Not a big sample size admittedly but good non the less.
  23. You're playing around with definitions here 'Dee'... It's systematic, the system or whatever when you raise concerns and are discriminated against and/or not taken proper notice of by the powers that be. Issues have been raised on a number of occasions and nothing has been done to resolve them. That is systematic. Also, whilst they may not like to believe it...the actions of the powers that be have been racist. ...and continue to be...
