I hope they stand firm as I also hope Treloar stands firm at Collingwood.... Make a contract great again...

TMac on the Trade Table?
Yes, but we were a total basket case at the time. Despite their issues I think both EFC and North have better people in charge than we had. ...but, let's hope not.

TMac on the Trade Table?
It was becoming pretty obvious by early in 2019 that we had made a mistake but at the time in 2018 I think anyone would have re- signed him. He was running hot...the story of Tom's career.

TMac on the Trade Table?
Unfortunately they know he's not the answer and think he's cooked. It's similar to us bringing in Dawes...a waste of time for them. He offers nothing.

Next Generation Academy Changes
The whole thing was a farce from the start. Eddie and co pulled the wool over the commissions eyes. All because of a couple of good academy players that Sydney and GWS picked up. The commission were really p...weak in how they handled the situation. At least now it's being scaled back.

TMac on the Trade Table?
I hope you are right, but I think he could be done...

TMac on the Trade Table?
I've seen nothing so far that makes me think this post is wrong...

Mahoney's Trade Plan
Matera was a special player... Polec is probably the closest to him in style...of course not putting him in the same class. I guess Gaff has been the consistent one year in year out, Smith pretty good... The Saints spent up on Hill but he's hit or miss...his brother was a player before injury took its toll. Our own new boy stacks up pretty well as that running machine, we're lucky to have him. Thinking as I type, McCrae has been used more as a pure mid by the dogs but he is one of the better wingman in the game...if I had a free hit, he's the one I would take. I can understand why we might not chase another this trade period unless someone falls in our lap.

Mahoney's Trade Plan
I don't think there is a current day Peter Matera around....not that I can think of anyway. Smith's been a very good player but he's no Matera. Can anyone think of a current player that would go close?
-
Adam Treloar
5 years, with his hammies....then again players like Burgoyne and Higgins have had injury free runs in the 2nd half of their careers...as you say he does make us better. Could we get another 100k out of Collingwood? I'm being greedy, but why not.
-
Adam Treloar
If the details of his back ended contract are correct then I hope everyone leaves Collingwood to their own mess. The idea of them paying 200k of the contract is severely unders...they would need to stump up a hell of a lot more than that if the figure is running up to $1mill a year.
-
Adam Treloar
I think this story came from the Collingwood spin machine. So far they are losing the battle...even with their own supporters.
-
Adam Treloar
Sorry, mixed up my Sam's...McLure was the Crows story, this is Edmund. Not as big a smart a.... still checks his facts so not making it up. It's real or someone is not telling him the truth.
-
Adam Treloar
Remember Sam was reporting the Adelaide camp fallout and got smashed for that one at the time. He was on the money. Comes across as a smart a.... at times but won't push a story unless he has his facts backed up. He's either on the money or people are lying to him.

Farewell Sam Weideman
I've always thought the best pressure a forward could apply is to kick goals. Geelong locked the ball in their forward half in the 2nd Q of the GF but didn't exert enough scoreboard pressure. At the end of the day the team that kicks the bigger score wins the game. Sometimes too much emphasis is placed on the minutiae...

If they do their destination club status would take a huge hit. Nice bit of click bait from Ralphy though...

Tom Phillips - Outside Skills and Speed
I first posted this in September...seemed an obvious target.

Jordan Clark
There was another Clark headed back to Perth before he took a detour. Maybe this one is a better bet...

Or the secret formula shouldn't be secret anymore. It really is a bit of a joke... Everyone knows the formula is not a formula at all just a set of non binding guidelines wholly dependent on the outcome head office would like.

TMac on the Trade Table?
I do doubt that 'Jack'...maybe they would take him at a 'sale' (3rd rounder or lower & we cop most of the contract) price but not for a decent trade. I hope you're right and I'm wrong by the way.

TMac on the Trade Table?
Think it will only be as steak knives 'red' and would that be worth our while. I can't see anyone wanting to take a substantial proportion of his contract unless we can fabricate some kind of win/win deal with another club.

TMac on the Trade Table?
I'm not sure there will be any takers for Tom. No club seems to be putting their hand up at the moment and for good reason. He's had 2 poor seasons and it looks like the game has passed him by... It happens, players have purple patches then burn out for a multitude of reasons. We just might have an expensive depth player on our hands unfortunately.

Serious question, what's wrong with Buckley and Collingwood? They broke up a premiership team because of a so called bad attitude and are now being sued by one of those players. They don't seem to be able to deal with any player who may have an issue, easier to trade them out. How would they have been with Dustin Martin? Would he be the player he is now if he had been drafted at Collingwood? Time to have a look in the mirror I would think.
