  1. I think they've taken a calculated risk on Rosman... JT likes the calculation, this was exactly the draft to take one out of left field with not a lot of exposed form in 2020...
  2. Agree 'Macca'...you only need to read some Facebook posts that have been nicely stirred up by media interests in regard to Lumumba to see how far off it we are. A long, long way unfortunately..
  3. Must agree with Lumumba here...it appears the AFL & Collingwood are hiding behind the women. Pretty average I think. Be nice to have some real leadership...but as' @old dee' says, it's not likely under the current leadership or any future version of the old boys club... https://thenewdaily.com.au/news/national/2021/02/08/lumumba-collingwood-racism/?utm_source=Adestra&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Morning News - 20210209
  4. An interesting article on the AFL approach to racism... Pretty much mirrors my comments above. It's more about brand management than anything else. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-02-07/joel-wilkinson-the-afl-and-the-search-for-racial-justice/12825394
  5. Name one person who isn't and I'll show you a dead man...
  6. I actually agree with you 'jnrmac'... We have been the Kings of excuses. ...but I don't think any excuse will be able to bail out Goody if we have another poor season. The Prez has pretty much flagged this Kane shouldn't be too concerned.
  7. Interesting hearing Virginia Trioli interview Taylor Adams this morning. A real interviewer asking pertinent questions that our footy journos wouldn't even come close to asking. She threw the grenades and let them hang out there for a bit but in the end let him off the hook. He's not the sharpest tool but did his best to tow the company line. A rabbit in the spotlight. She didn't go in for the kill but left enough out there for you to draw the conclusion...
  8. What's Dusty got to do with anything???
  9. Hypocrisy is part of the human condition, we're all hypocrites. So what's your point???
  10. I'm guessing it wasn't Goodwin so maybe we can narrow it down to 17...
  11. I like this combination...I think it worked well in the few games they played together last year. Not a big sample size admittedly but good non the less.
  12. You're playing around with definitions here 'Dee'... It's systematic, the system or whatever when you raise concerns and are discriminated against and/or not taken proper notice of by the powers that be. Issues have been raised on a number of occasions and nothing has been done to resolve them. That is systematic. Also, whilst they may not like to believe it...the actions of the powers that be have been racist. ...and continue to be...
  13. St Kilda had there's with Muir. Different approach to Ed. They didn't need a review. They came out and unreservedly apologised. I reckon that's a pretty good way of doing things.
  14. Spin city 'old Dee'... love to see the back of him.
  15. So right 'Gaga'... ...and heaven help he ever says "I/we got it wrong"...
  16. Yes Eddie it is a proud day that you didn't have the courage to present the report and sat on it for over a month. It had to be leaked. Wow, I can't believe he said this.
  17. So...tell me why I don't read this rag?
  18. I must admit I thought this report would be a whitewash... To their credit they didn't hold back. Not so much to the board's credit they sat on it...it took a leak for it to come out. It would be interesting to see a similar enquiry held into the AFL... I would expect findings like this, insert AFL for Collingwood There is a gap between what Collingwood Football Club says it stands for and what it does The club is more likely to react to media coverage about a racist incident than complaints made within the club Collingwood's response has often been perceived as one where claims of racism are dealt with in terms of damage control and protecting the brand
  19. Makes interesting reading...probably explains why McGuire is stepping down. This may come a bit quicker than they would like. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-02-01/collingwood-is-guilty-of-systemic-racism-review-finds/13055816
  20. He didn't get a lot of footy when played off half back but certainly got a bit as a mid. He knows where to run and is not afraid to lay a good tackle. He's a very good kick. He also came to us as the youngest player in his draft year, A December birthday just snuck him over the line. He has some really good attributes... enough to make it? Who knows...I wouldn't write him off just yet.
  21. No crocodile tears for GWS '58'...there's little doubt they screwed themselves as you say by overpaying. Maybe I didn't make that clear enough.
  22. Foot and minor procedure don't really go hand in hand (foot in foot). The procedure may be minor but the outcome rarely is. Let's hope for the 2 weeks but I don't like the sound of that given he's had previous foot issues.
  23. Looks like he will be pushing Tommo all the way to round one with a bit of luck 'Bob'...
