  1. I would definitely pay Sparrow back. He's not a natural mid. Harmes is a better bet as a mid/tagger and should have gone to Boak. Tommy Mac's career is over...I hope everyone can see this now. He's been shot for the last 18 months and no amount of wishing will change that. Injury or form, it doesn't matter. I can't see him coming back from here. He was the fresh player, didn't have the short turn around...
  2. Nup, the bar wasn't high though...up to half time he was ok. ...don't really want to open this up too much for the sniper 'daz'... My mistake for answering him in the first place. The only consistency is the sniper taking pot shots at players all over the site tonight.
  3. Selection mistakes again...
  4. Our best mid so far tonight...
  5. If they're from Airlie Beach it's a possibility.
  6. Wth the virus now kicking up again in QLD...we will be lucky to get to a GF.
  7. Stupidity is the 'New Black'... It seems to be becoming fashionable.
  8. The knock on him has been his kicking...
  9. Maybe he's been thrown in there in the scratch matches. Hard to know what's going on in those games... He did play some defence in his underage years, so has done it. Pretty good leg speed, strong in the body and pretty good in the air...good attributes for a small defender. Kicking not his strong suit.
  10. 3 talls generally hasn't worked for us. As some have noted our structure looked so much better with Weid and Jackson, the 2 talls. Tommy tips the balance. Maybe they're going to try him or Jackson as the other wing... If it's 3 talls though then to me it's not the right selection call.
  11. Sparrow, but I hope he does take Jetts role. I've been on about this one for a while. I think he has the ideal skill set to make it as a small/medium defender. I don't see him as a mid to be honest.
  12. I'm sure it's true 'Macca' and agree that it will be closed down. We dobbed ourselves in via Joe and paid for it, still are. Then we got nailed on the tanking, again not the only club, paid for it and still are. One of the big ones for me is performance enhancing drugs going back to the 80's and premierships. There has always been a bit of a smell around those and key players are still in the game.
  13. Remember when I think it was Brett Allison that used to give real player performance reviews. He got canned for doing it. I thought it was great.
  14. This has been annoying me for a while now. Obvious 50, they just drop the ball on the ground. This is the trouble with the game...the rules are there but they are not being adjudicated properly. The game would flow better if stalling tactics were seen for what they are. Spot on 'titan'...for Fritsch, it was just dumb football. Definite 50 Bailey was doing as he's been coached...Fagen/Clarkson school. The umps have been sucked in to letting this go. Definite 50...
  15. Terrible game. These players don't know how to play wet weather footy.... What a joke. Pathetic skills from both sides.
  16. Thanks guys...subscribed to the podcast and had a listen to the Corio episode. Absolute gold. Can't wait to have a listen to the BT & Bruce episode, I mean they just provide so much material.

Yes of course...the thud rule. I'm sure that ones in the book somewhere...

I'm not sure if it's the same one. ...but he basically tackled front on with a bump to the stomach. Didn't seem like any arms pinned at all.
  19. He's an odd man...and often the odd man out.
  20. The structure works better with the extra tall, in this case Oscar down there. We don't have many other options at the moment with Petty being out for the season. Tommy or Tomlinson are the only others who could fill a KPD role.
  21. He's getting near the end but wouldn't put a kid on him. Maybe one last shot for Nev, neither could run out of sight on a dark night so maybe a fair match up. Hibberd as you say could be the answer.
  22. They beat us around the stoppages & centre bounces. We've got a good crew in there but we still don't consistently work well together. Last week we got it together but this week it was 4 individuals versus a team unit. We make the game hard for ourselves, harder than it needs to be...
  23. With Robbie Grey running around that could prove dangerous. ...but Nev is badly out of form/touch/confidence
  24. Umpires across the board this season - lost all confidence

It's pretty bad 'Gonzo'...I think as a group they've lost all confidence. The AFL are trying to micro manage the game through rule interpretations and the umpires are suffering because of it.
