Just watching the Max Gawn highlights on MFC web. 2nd Q v Pies Gawn at boundary throw in taps over back directly to pederson who in turns gets the call from Bernie and swivels and hits him on the run full tilt...GOAL!!! Probably the best bit of ruck work since Jamar used to hit Moloney full tilt T centre bounce.

Max is only now starting to gain confidence in his legs. After 2 knee recos he wasn't able to jump at centre bounce encounters. Now he can but another preseason will bridge that stamina gap. Remember early in pre xmas pre season he was still in Rehab and only doing slow laps. Not a good base to get your stamina up. with luck he will end this season in a better position to improve.

There could be something published by Leader Melbourne in the next few weeks that will match this.A new fish ladder was constructed at Dights Falls. After being opened to the public for 2 months it was closed because the grid mesh over the top didn't allow for wheel chair access. They closed the fish ladder down for 2 years whilst scientists got involved to provide the criteria of how much daylight and air was required for access to the water. Now wheel chairs can fit, but the grids are so close no-one can see the water let alone fish. Edit: It has now been closed again

Old Bill Mitchell the man with the magic hands. I twisted a knee when I was 22. All the medicos said I needed open knee surgery. No arthroscope so back then. Bill worked on my knee twice 10 min. each time, I didn't play good grade football, but I did play football after that. It lasted until 1996 until it had to have surgery. This time it was an arthroscope, day surgery. The man was a miracle man.

Mathematically we had a chance, but blew it in the last 41 seconds against the saints and lost the bonus win against the cheats.

I still don't think we are a club that will attract "A"graders of any position to the club. Potential A graders say B graders who aren't getting a real go at their present club are all we are able to get. We have a few of those already Brayshaw Petracca (even without playing a game) Viney vandenBerg & Trengove if he recovers. Jones and Vince are the A graders that we build around.
