I hate the Bentleigh Club.

Worst memory 1965 sacking of Norm Smith for one week. The soul of the club never recovered. Richmond becoming co tenants.

Mum & Dad were one eyed bombers. I was 5 when they took me to see Essendon v Melbourne at Windy Hill. My Brother was 10 and supported Melbourne. Melbourne beat Essendon that day, so my brother started taking me to all the Melbourne games. 6 premierships and 60 years later I am still a sad individual.

I know he was elevated. That doesn't mean he will get a game. But he needs to be elevated just to get named an emergency.

I don't like jones as a run with player. It has been tried before unsuccessfully more times than not.

More mids. We have seen what happens when you get a run of injuries. Parsons sounds the goods. I doubt he will be around when it's our turn.

SWYL,What was our membership in 1964. Remember we just an appendage if the MCC back then. I was a junior member, I reckon we had 500 junior members at 10 shillings for 18 games per season. I don't have a clue what the adult membership was but 3000 would be a guess.

I'd pay $500k to keep him but he would have to sign a 4 year deal. We could front load it and pay him $650 the first 2 years, which would leave him on $350 for the last 2 years. This would then create a bit of salary cap room when we need to buy someone in a couple of years time when we are WINNING.

Well done D'frt. I have observed his development over the past few months. It started slow because he wasn't sure where he was in the team. It didn't take long for him to become a leader and say come with me. He is showing the nouse and leadership our midfield has lacked for years. All in the hands of an 18yo. effing amazing.

Do you think he will ever rate against our babies? Petracca, Brayshaw, vandenBerg, Stretch, Bullen, Kent,Tyson, JKH. Salem, Hogan. Plus the older guns we have added, Cross, Lumumba, Vince, Garlett The improved real oldies Jetta,McDonald, Garland, Dunn, Watts, Gawn, N. Jones. I have probably overlooked a few but with that list. No place for Trenners I am afraid.

I really believe we have played the top 8 sides. and performed really well. based on our efforts in the past few weeks, our side is growing in confidence. It almost has that same feeling I had in 1987 when we rattled home with a wet sail to grab a spot in the finals. Then only to be beaten by a team mistake that probably cost us a flag. We should win 6 games conservatively Giants. Saints. Doggies. Bummers.. Blues.. Lions. This gives us 10 wins.; 2 wins more than I anticipated. Throw in a couple of shock wins and shock losses, and 10 wins sounds gettable. We definitely are on the up. PJ may be on the money when he sprouted we are finals contenders next year. lets hope so. GO DEES.

Nibbler ( don't ask me why this nickname) will be our next rising star nomination based on his improvement from game 1 v St.Kilda to game 2 v Geelong. He will be outstanding in about 3 weeks time.

I wouldn't mind seeing Watts tried as a Ruck rover type, provided we can improve his tank. He has already shown he can do the 3rd nan up in stoppages. He has proven he is not a KPP.

It would only be a light training session,prior to the bye and a family night. It's not a bad venue to get the families to, this is the problem not having an enclosed training facility. Somewhere you feel ok to let the kids off a lead. They should also try and get that venue for trying out some set plays usually done by clubs who can have closed sessions. I would certainly be happy if they could use the ground and build a facility there.
