The good things. 1. Rivers in the middle playing great. 2. Tholstrup showing he has what it takes. 3. Judd McVee in the last quarter was silky smooth. Fantastic. 4. Young kids getting game time. The bad things. 1. The brain dead supporters in here bagging the [censored] out of the players. Seriously, you guys are [censored] thick. (Not all of you, just the loud dumb ones) Petracca gets injured. Everyone with half a brain knows that Oliver is getting the hard tag for the rest of the year. Drop Clarry? Drop him? Seriously? Who are you bringing in? Laurie? We are already playing just about everyone we drafted last year. Do you even engage your brains before posting? We aren't a premiership team anymore. Adjust your expectations. It's a year of change. The old game plan doesn't stack up.

Champion player. Easily the best over a 4 year period and maybe the best of all time according to many. Scully and Trengove were clearly pick 1 and 2. Every recruiter at the time said so. He would not have become the player he was if he came to the demons. Getting drafted to the demons in those days was a career killer. Criminal that we didn't even interview him though. Just shows how terrible we were.

Sometimes I think supporters just get bored and want something new and shiney.

Which player would you have selected in you were Jason Taylor? Put it on the record so you can gloat when that player smashes it in the next 6 months and you will get all the kudos on here for a few years. This argument over what type of player is the correct type is tiresome. Every team has holes in the list. Tall forwards is our most pressing need in my opinion. It doesn't mean I don't worry about our inside midfield depth, our aging key defenders or our sole reliance on Max in the ruck. We were never going to solve any issues with one pick in the mid season draft.

I love to pile on Geelong, but Chris Scott's post match interview last week was great.
-
Thanks. I hope he isn't names as sub and can get a few games under his belt to build some confidence at the top level.
-
Interested to know if you have much of an opinion on Laurie? I know you get to training so would appreciate your honest opinion.

Quite simply, I don't think he the development in him to become a rounded player like you seem to want him to be. He does what he does exceptionally well and I'm happy with that. There were a few typical Fritsch moments tonight that I was not happy with at all, but it was the midfield where we were soundly beaten. Taking aim at Fritsch after tonights game tells me you have had him in the gun for awhile just itching to pull the trigger. I get it that this is a place that you can vent after a loss and I have loved you as a poster in previous years. So go ahead. I will disagree if I see fit. If there is anyone in the forward line that needs a spray it's Petty. Equal amount of disposals as Salem. Just horrendous.
-
Guess I'm in the fan club then. Fritsch is the icing. Not the cake. An easy target in a game like this.
-
Smashed by a hungry team. Nothing went right for us. Salem with a hammy in the first few minutes. Yikes.

Petty, Jackson and Vanrooyen are his three winners. Weideman is the clear miss at pick 9 2015. There are only a few late pick busts like Hulett and Kielty, the rest are top up or role players like Mitch Brown and Majak Daw. We have traded in May, Lever, Ben Brown, Grundy, Tomlinson and Fullerton during that time which has reduced the need to take a punt on a late pick. If Jackson was still on the list people would probably never question his recruitment of talls. It's only because he left and there is an obvious hole in the list that people just come up with the post you replied to without looking at evidence.

5 changes to the Adelaide team. Fills me with confidence. They are unsettled.

What they're saying over at West Lakes Boulevard
BAMF replied to Demon Dynasty's topic in Melbourne Demons
I predicted Adelaide would be challenging for top 4 at the start of the season. They have been massively disappointing so far this year. The season is long. Things can change quickly. They lack structure and just haven't clicked yet. They will win games this year on pure talent of their young list. All it will take is a two or three young players to have a good game and they will crack games wide open and win by big margins. Let's hope it's not this week. -
I wasn't one calling us out last week but it will take a lot more than a win against a pretty average team to get me really excited. It was a good win though and that beats losing everytime.
-
What? On no... Updates on his position changes throughout the game please
-
Unfortunately he is very much a needed player due to our lack of tall players. We must extract the maximum trade here.
-
Key forward or shut up.

Is Demonland going to ban all Jon Ralph articles from being posted from now on? Clearly they are unsubstantiated rumours which are strictly forbidden.

Nathan Brown was all smiles in the stands with Adem Yze and son Noah. It was great to see these two hanging out together. Reminded me of the time I fell in love with this club. I wont be getting too carried away with the result. Blues weren't applying much pressure and really missed a quality key defender. Van Rooyen looked bloody impressive. Listed at 193cm but was way too big for McGovern (191cm).They moved Young (202cm) onto him late who didnt look much bigger than him.

I'm surprised theres such a strong reaction. He signed a 4 year deal with a degenerative knee condition. A lot of us on here knew at the time that anything we got in the fourth year would be a bonus. It was a shame that we couldn't get what we needed out of him last year when we needed it. He was a 200cm proven key forward who was available. He got a 4 year deal that we knew he probably wouldn't see out to the end. We got a kpf for a good price when we needed it. He was very important in 2021. Its worked out to be a pretty good deal for both parties. He has had a fantastic career, he is a fantastic person.

I was really disappointed that he wasn't in form this year. He was consistently battling it out for that 24th or 25th spot in our best 22 with Jordon. His non selection seemed to get the better of him and he lost his way towards the end of the year. It's a shame as I firmly believe we wouldn't have lost the Collingwood final if a) Brayshaw didn't get subbed out in the first quarter b) we selected a sub capable of impacting the game. An inform Harmes could have made a difference. Alas... It wasn't to be. I don't know if it was attitude or injury that contributed to his form, but I feel that this year was the one that slipped away from us. (There were many other reasons why we lost that game and many other what ifs. The points I mentioned earlier are just a few things that didn't go out way that day). He will always go down as a demon legend for his role in 2021 for me.

What the [censored] is this [censored]?

This is the guy I want. I hope he is there.

We lost that game like we have lost every game over the last few years. Close. Maybe a few calls that went against us.. but ultimately it comes down to missed opportunity. This was the last hurrah with this game plan. We should have won last week if we picked correctly. We didn't. Laurie and Schache as sub were the oddest choices all season.

He was so g lol a Dude. C'mon man.
