I think Goody could have named Chandler in the ruck and you would have found a way to 100% see the logic. 😛

Ballsy move. It will be interesting to see how our ruck situation plays out on game day. We haven't been making the most of Max's taps this year, but he is irreplaceable around the ground. Will we just try and read the opposition taps like many teams do to Max? Will we go more aggressive in the clearance battle than we have been to mitigate the damage? How much ruck time will Petty actually play? The ruck position is so physical and Petty has been managing so many injuries over the last few years. How can Fullarton go from emergency to not listed when Max is injured? If he isn't injured then questions need to be asked about why he was brought into the club. If we win then Goody is a genius. If Petty gets injured or if we get smashed it will be a disaster. Looking forward to seeing it play out.
  3. Webster was holding him back from leading to the contest. Heeney swung his arm back below shoulder level to break the hold. Webster had slipped down hence the high contact. No way Heeney would have known his head was there. Not a fan of the suspension. Don't care about the Brownlow. Don't care much about Heeney either.
  4. His decision making can leave me annoyed at times. I think we are on the the same page. I'm not bagging him out. I've said all teams would have him. I've been happy with his slow but steady progress, but it hasn't progressed this year and I'm worried it won't. I get the impression that others think the same but just can't articulate their point of view. I would like him to move into a full time inside midfielder and use his speed and strength to attack and accelerate away from the contest. Stop being the negator and start being the threat. Its right there for him. He has the tank now. He has the power. He has the speed. He doesn't have the elite disposal but with the other things he is more than enough. He has got inside midfield time over others in the team. I want more from him.
  5. Sparrow has always been playing the same role since he came into the team. I would doubt that people don't factor it in. A lot of people expect a player to have a 'break out' game where they magically improve by 20% and continue at that level forever. Sparrow has slowly progressed each year until this year. He hasnt got better this year, and thats fine as every team would have Sparrow on their list as that defensive 4th inside mid. I think most people see his potential and want him to progress past that role. It's right there for the taking with Oliver playing below his best and Petracca out. With his speed and power he could push to an A grade player, but he isn't. Rivers is pushing into that role as he is a smoother, smarter player. Sparrow is a foot soldier. Albeit a good one. I want more from him. I'm hoping he continues his 5% increment improvement next year and this year is just a plateau.
  6. Still another year before he is drafted right?
  7. Laurie with 10 disposals and 34 dream team points. What the hell happened? Was he off the ground for long periods?
  8. I heard a post match interview with JVR last year on the radio and he was asked about being held back in the VFL for his first year. He instantly answered that he wasn't ready aerobically for AFL level football.
  9. I've seen Happy Gilmore. Just improve the putting and you win. Pretty sure Max Gawn was in that movie.
  10. I was so gutted after the Carlton final as I knew it was our last real opportunity with the game plan and list. This year is a tweak to both and I was hoping we would be thereabouts to launch late in the year. After the Adelaide games I thought we might be in the hunt, but a few injuries have exposed or lack of depth. We still have a list to challenge next year and after. Finding some good young players to refresh us will mean we can bounce back. Things are never as good or as bad as they seem.
  11. I know this will fall on deaf ears right now, but that was a cracking game. Both teams had so many missed opportunities. We had so many young players, we were always going to fade late. Disappointed with the result but proud of the team. Lots to work on though and a few clear gaps still in the list. Vent away demonlanders!

Oliver with 15 disposals and a goal. Good thing we didn't drop a champion eh?

Yeah, I applaud you thinking of options. I just don't think Clarry forward is good for him or the forward line. Maybe Clarry just attempts to seriously tag Neale? I know he tried it with LDU on the weekend, but maybe with a bit more prep time he will do better. If I was Brisbane, I would just tag Viney and let Oliver go.

Berry just goes to Viney imo. He won't bother following him forward as he isn't good up there.

This is pretty funny. Max said that Clarry had a hard tag and was going to other north players to create an opening for Viney. You give the exact example that Max provides and bag him out. Your inability to read the play even after its been explained to you is alarming. You are a donkey.
  16. Me too. I've been triggered by the negativity. I enjoyed the game and enjoyed getting the win. My expectations seem to be different to many others. I understand that people use this place to vent and there is a lot of things not great right now. Coming on here to discuss the win hasn't been a good use of my time.
  17. If Clarry doesn't play then Viney gets the tag and doesn't play well and then we don't win. The tagging player doesn't just disappear because Oliver is the sub. I'm as frustrated as anyone about Olivers form this year, but he is still streets ahead of anyone at Casey. Engage the brain before posting.
  18. The good things. 1. Rivers in the middle playing great. 2. Tholstrup showing he has what it takes. 3. Judd McVee in the last quarter was silky smooth. Fantastic. 4. Young kids getting game time. The bad things. 1. The brain dead supporters in here bagging the [censored] out of the players. Seriously, you guys are [censored] thick. (Not all of you, just the loud dumb ones) Petracca gets injured. Everyone with half a brain knows that Oliver is getting the hard tag for the rest of the year. Drop Clarry? Drop him? Seriously? Who are you bringing in? Laurie? We are already playing just about everyone we drafted last year. Do you even engage your brains before posting? We aren't a premiership team anymore. Adjust your expectations. It's a year of change. The old game plan doesn't stack up.

Champion player. Easily the best over a 4 year period and maybe the best of all time according to many. Scully and Trengove were clearly pick 1 and 2. Every recruiter at the time said so. He would not have become the player he was if he came to the demons. Getting drafted to the demons in those days was a career killer. Criminal that we didn't even interview him though. Just shows how terrible we were.

Sometimes I think supporters just get bored and want something new and shiney.
  21. Which player would you have selected in you were Jason Taylor? Put it on the record so you can gloat when that player smashes it in the next 6 months and you will get all the kudos on here for a few years. This argument over what type of player is the correct type is tiresome. Every team has holes in the list. Tall forwards is our most pressing need in my opinion. It doesn't mean I don't worry about our inside midfield depth, our aging key defenders or our sole reliance on Max in the ruck. We were never going to solve any issues with one pick in the mid season draft.

I love to pile on Geelong, but Chris Scott's post match interview last week was great.
  23. Thanks. I hope he isn't names as sub and can get a few games under his belt to build some confidence at the top level.
  24. Interested to know if you have much of an opinion on Laurie? I know you get to training so would appreciate your honest opinion.
  25. Quite simply, I don't think he the development in him to become a rounded player like you seem to want him to be. He does what he does exceptionally well and I'm happy with that. There were a few typical Fritsch moments tonight that I was not happy with at all, but it was the midfield where we were soundly beaten. Taking aim at Fritsch after tonights game tells me you have had him in the gun for awhile just itching to pull the trigger. I get it that this is a place that you can vent after a loss and I have loved you as a poster in previous years. So go ahead. I will disagree if I see fit. If there is anyone in the forward line that needs a spray it's Petty. Equal amount of disposals as Salem. Just horrendous.
