  1. Port gave up 16 and 45 for West Coast pick 15 based on what was displayed on the fox telecast. It doesn't make sense to me. Port give away pick 45 for nothing unless they knew west coast were going to take Berry which seemed unlikely with Bo Allan on the board.
  2. You either sit back and wait for the draft night to see who our recruitment team pick or join in the fun and form opinions based on 2 min highlight videos. The result was always going to be the same so why not get involved? All a bit of fun.
  3. Port just gave away pick 45 for no reason. How bizarre.
  4. Some harsh critics in here. Reminds me of the game day threads when Salem makes one mistake and a few posters say "no idea why Salem is considered a good kick" I'm hoping we go for Allan but would be happy with Lindsay.

There was plenty of discussion early on for North to trade pick 2 and a future first for pick 6 and 11 from Richmond. That hasn't had a mention for awhile now though

Potentially why we have the late pick available to match a bid. If it comes too early then so be it.
  7. Zane Cochrane https://central.rookieme.com/afl/player/zane-cochrane/ Oakleigh Chargers midfielder Zane Cochrane was pegged as an emerging prospect during preseason and did enough during season proper to warrant a state draft combine invite. The 187cm contested bull regularly imposed himself at the contest with his size and stoppage nous, playing his best games when getting stuck in going both ways.

Then we shut down all discussion apart from "Yay, the club know what they are doing and have never made a mistake!"
  9. Easiest answer for JT. Just say we are going for best available and then pick who you want. Everyone will then think that they were the best available even if you have reached for a need.
  10. Since when have you been funny? 🤣

Just noticed that Sam Marshall is Brisbane academy despite playing for Sandy Dragons. That seems a bit on the nose for me and contradicts the reasons for the academy.

Adelaide are trading up to take Draper ahead of Carlton aren't they? Have I missed something?

Cal Twomey's Phantom Form Guide: Top draft prospects' November ranking Please note that this is not his phantom draft. That is still to come. Players Cal has mentioned that we may be linked to in ranking order: 2. Finn O’Sullivan 3. Harvey Langford 4. Jagga Smith 5. Sam Lalor 6. Murphy Reid 7. Sid Draper 8. Alix Tauru 10. Harry Armstrong 11. Bo Allan 12. Tobie Travaglia
  14. There is only 2 clubs that are in a position for us to trade back with. Richmond and GWS. GWS is the only real option as Richmond would be foolish to trade. GWS with 15, 16 and 21.

Quite like it myself. Better than the original.

    Reasons?
  17. Mine was Jesse Hogan. Had him picked out as a 16 year old kid and prayed that we would trade in to the mini draft picks. I was so pumped. There have been a heap that I get excited about that we didn't draft. Most of them seem to end up drafted to Carlton with little success. Langford at 5 Lindsey at 9. Totally depends on who is available though.

Ah yes. I am assuming in my scenario that we have pick 83 locked onto a main list target already and will only take Riak as a rookie or not at all. He may very well be worth a spot on the main list. I'm also interested in splitting pick 9 if possible. I think Lindsey might still be available a few spots back and hope we are able to get Hynes with another pick. I don't expect this will happen though and think we just take what we have to the draft.

I'm always a little confused about the rules. My understanding is that we have room for him as a category a or b (we would take him as a cat B) rookie if he makes it through the main draft without attracting a bid from a rival club. If a rival club bids on him in the main draft we would need to match which we would be unlikely to do?

It would be a huge shock for the crows to pick someone else at pick 4.
  21. Showed enough for us to be optimistic that 2025 will be the year he can develop into a consistent best 23 player. Good height. Clean pickup. Decent defensively. Decent disposal. He looks a smidgen slower than he needs to be to nail that position. He was recruited as a winger as memory serves?
  22. van Rooyen marks on the lead and the crowd scream "Rooooooooo!!!" Tauru marks on the lead and the crowd scream "Ruuuuuuuu!" Trade Gruzewski in from GWS next year and then we can all scream "Gruuuuuuuu!"
  23. Really want the draft to be done and dusted for this exact reason. I've looked at the options too closely now and have my personal preferences. In reality I've watched some YouTube highlights and read some phantom drafts and don't have a clue what is the best result. Can't help feeling like I will be disappointed instead of happy on draft day despite knowing that Taylor will make the right decisions.
  24. He's going to have to fight Chandler to get his role as pressure act hff back. Hopefully the coaches make that role a touch more on the offensive side going forward. Would love to see Tholstrup get some more time there.
