Jack Viney Extends Contract Until 2028
You can have a favourite player and also think long term for the club. I don't know the details of payments. But I don't think Jack will be in the seniors in his final years of the contract and think it's a mistake giving them to him this far out. He plays his best as an inside midfielder and he isn't able to play another position. I didn't think Buddy would play out his 9 year contract at the Swans and was wrong about that and hope I'm not correct here.

Jack Viney Extends Contract Until 2028
Exactly. We needed to offer Brown the big contract to get him across and that paid off. Most of us knew the last year would be a VFL year or injury list for Brown when we signed the contract. I would have preferred we had another youngster in the list instead of extending Schache. He would be on stuff all player payment though.

Jack Viney Extends Contract Until 2028
I love Jack. He's been a favourite for years. I'm glad he is getting looked after and will be a 1 club player. I'm with Deespencer though. That's a huge extension for an older player and in my opinion a bad list management decision. Without knowing the details of the contract it's hard to judge. Jack is a great player to have around the club and today is a day to celebrate after a media [censored] storm this week.

Andrew McQualter - Appointed coach of the West Coast Eagles
It's very difficult to assess from the outside. Has any player come out and said anything positive about him during the year? Sam Mitchell was absolutely adored by the West Coast players during his time there. Likewise Choco gets mentioned many times by our players in podcasts and interviews. I haven't heard anyone mention anything about him at all.

Trade Targets
There is too much smoke around this one to not have a bit of embers going. Houston would be great. I just don't want to pay the required trade price. ANB trade might soften this, but I would much rather go heavily to the draft with any available picks and pick up a free agent than trade for Houston.

Luke Parker open to move
Let's be honest. We aren't a big club. The media have been longing for us to return to the bottom of the ladder so they can dig the boots back in. During our dark days I was longing for an extended period of success so we would become media darlings. I pictured all of our players being labelled 'champions' for simple things. Post premiership we got it for a short period, but it was fleeting. It soon progressed to something else. After a big win I would search for media reports about how good we were. All I got was articles about the big team we just beat along with a small mention like "Not taking anything away from the Demons. They were great." Now we are out of the eight and the knives have come back out. I don't know what to think right now. If Petracca and Viney aren't disillusioned like Morris has reported, then why haven't they come out and countered his rumours? While I'm having a good [censored]... Is anyone else sick of Perts rinse and repeat emails that we only get in these situations?

Farewell Alex Neal-Bullen
Nibbler would have flagged it early with the club to allow us time to organise a suitable trade with the relevant club to allow for a quick trade. Trade week is a ****show if you leave it late and risks not getting it done. We would have been in talks with other clubs by now. Which means the leak could have come from anywhere.

Farewell Alex Neal-Bullen
All I could read was that he is requesting a trade to South Australia for family reasons before the paywall kicked in.

Farewell Alex Neal-Bullen
Not a joke. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/money-talks-premiership-demon-to-request-trade-20240812-p5k1rn.html A Melbourne clubman has notified the Demons he would like to leave Victoria at the end of the season for family reasons.
