GAMEDAY: Rd 01 vs Port Adelaide
No way you could put Pettracca in the same category as the rest of those players. He has never played consistently good games like the rest of them. While it looks bad... If you could magically change things so Viney and McDonald were in form the other players wouldn't be playing so poorly. It's a snowball effect, but can quickly snowball back the other way too.

Mid season draft ponderings
Hmm... I assumed that it would carry over from the 2018 national draft. I.e, we passed on our round 6 pick and didn't pick anyone even though we had a spot available. If there is no one who passed before our pick or subsequently have used it in the Preseason Draft then we would have pick one of the mid season draft. Will have a look and see what I can find online. Edit: Link to AFL info article Carlton seem to have 2 spots left. Melbourne, GWS and Gold Coast have one each based on the links in the article although GC may have used theirs by now.

POSTGAME: JLT 02 vs Brisbane
I cant believe I was looking forward to that so much. I'm so happy that preseason is essentially over. Bring on the real stuff. I've been around long enough now to know that preseason form doesnt really prove much but it would have been nice to have a young player really stand up and show something which I thought didn't happen this year. Any win we get early this season will be fantastic as the boys haven't looked great early. I'm still impressed with Brisbane. They have recruited well and have some truly excellent young talent coming through. They are probably a few years behind where we are right now but they will be a hard team to beat this year and personally I will be watching most of their games. They will be one of our main nemesis over the next decade.

GAMEDAY: JLT 02 vs Brisbane
He didnt get a touch for a very long time into the game. Hasn't done anything that I would consider noteworthy. Note: Not bagging him out. It's JL2.

GAMEDAY: JLT 02 vs Brisbane
Loved and hated him as a player. Hated him because he was so good against us. Terrible commentator. Commented early that Steph Martin was clever for pushing forward and dragging Max back with him. Make Max play back which he isnt comfortable with and take away his ability to push forward. Will try to wear Max out. It's like Riewoldt hasn't seen Max play. 1. Max goes back regularly. It's one of the main reasons why he is so good. He goes forward, back, midfield and takes the majority of the hit outs. 2. Max is the fittest ruck man in the comp. If anything Martin will wear himself out before Max.

GAMEDAY: JLT 02 vs Brisbane
This is turning into a rubbish day. I am not a big JKH fan, but he is finally at the point where he is competing for a spot in the 22 and while he would always be depth in my opinion it's a cruel blow to get injured at the best time in his career to push his case. Also a blow to our depth. Hope he is ok.

PREGAME: JLT 02 vs Brisbane
Rance. Same height as Tmac. 5 kg lighter. Had a great day and barely looked like he was even getting out of 4th gear.

PREGAME: JLT 02 vs Brisbane
I love the way Chris Fagan is developing the Lions. They will beat a few fancied teams this year and gave us a good run for our money in round 2 last year.

POST MATCH DISCUSSION: Melbourne vs Richmond - JLT 01
He didn't play on Nankervis. Nankervis played as a forward. Preuss was matched up against Ivan Soldo.

POST MATCH DISCUSSION: Melbourne vs Richmond - JLT 01
The problem is that his greatest strength is not in the game plan. A lot of posters point out how we lack players who can break the line with pace and carry the ball. Its not what we do. We take possession and move the ball quickly by hand or foot. We bounced the ball an average of 4 times per game last year. Essendon were the clear leaders with 12, Richmond second with 8.5. Most of the time he runs his measure and needa to bang it onto his boot. It looks great when it comes off, but usually allows the defenders enough time to get in a good position.

Who is going to replace ANB? He is very much a meat and potatoes sort of player, but i cannot see anyone pushing him out of his spot this year.

GAME DAY: Melbourne vs Richmond - JLT #1
I was going to say earlier that James Jordan is clearly out of his depth but he has worked his way into the game pretty well.

GAME DAY: Melbourne vs Richmond - JLT #1
Indeed. It's a real shame that all the young rucks we have drafted have been busts.

GAME DAY: Melbourne vs Richmond - JLT #1
Probably more based off the following. 1. Kent has been traded 2. Hannan is injured 3. Spargo hasn't looked great either.
