GAMEDAY: JLT 02 vs Brisbane
This is turning into a rubbish day. I am not a big JKH fan, but he is finally at the point where he is competing for a spot in the 22 and while he would always be depth in my opinion it's a cruel blow to get injured at the best time in his career to push his case. Also a blow to our depth. Hope he is ok.

PREGAME: JLT 02 vs Brisbane
Rance. Same height as Tmac. 5 kg lighter. Had a great day and barely looked like he was even getting out of 4th gear.

PREGAME: JLT 02 vs Brisbane
I love the way Chris Fagan is developing the Lions. They will beat a few fancied teams this year and gave us a good run for our money in round 2 last year.

POST MATCH DISCUSSION: Melbourne vs Richmond - JLT 01
He didn't play on Nankervis. Nankervis played as a forward. Preuss was matched up against Ivan Soldo.

POST MATCH DISCUSSION: Melbourne vs Richmond - JLT 01
The problem is that his greatest strength is not in the game plan. A lot of posters point out how we lack players who can break the line with pace and carry the ball. Its not what we do. We take possession and move the ball quickly by hand or foot. We bounced the ball an average of 4 times per game last year. Essendon were the clear leaders with 12, Richmond second with 8.5. Most of the time he runs his measure and needa to bang it onto his boot. It looks great when it comes off, but usually allows the defenders enough time to get in a good position.

Who is going to replace ANB? He is very much a meat and potatoes sort of player, but i cannot see anyone pushing him out of his spot this year.

GAME DAY: Melbourne vs Richmond - JLT #1
I was going to say earlier that James Jordan is clearly out of his depth but he has worked his way into the game pretty well.

GAME DAY: Melbourne vs Richmond - JLT #1
Indeed. It's a real shame that all the young rucks we have drafted have been busts.

GAME DAY: Melbourne vs Richmond - JLT #1
Probably more based off the following. 1. Kent has been traded 2. Hannan is injured 3. Spargo hasn't looked great either.

You watching using AFL app? That's the way it is now. They don't give you the full screen

Tom McDonald Presser (28/2)
I usually dislike preseason interviews but that was great. Speaks very well. Isn't afraid to voice his opinion. Doesnt stick to the cliches.

Illicit Drug Use in AFL
It's [censored] isnt it? It has been the modus operandi within the AFL for a number of years now. Anyone remember when Gary Lyons affair became public knowledge? First thing done is say that he has mental health problems and to please respect his privacy. A player at our club has mental health issues and has to take some time away from the game. Said player gets traded to another team first opportunity. AFL report comes out explaining how good their policy is because they have identified x amount of players who are using drugs and either removed them from the game or had them move to another environment. Its just [censored] for the people who do suffer from mental health and have struggled under the stigma of it all for years. Now finally some awareness is going on and the AFL community is using it as a 'dont ask questions' approach.

Plough: 3 Issues Dees Need to Overcome
The last quarter of the 2nd Geelong game could fit in there too. I rewatched it the other day and we looked terrible in that quarter. There is no way we should have lost that game from three quarter time. Tempted to throw the saints game in here too. We came back strong in the end and nearly pinched it but we were well outplayed by a team who had struggled all year. Thats 6 games out of 25 where we had patches of terrible form. It's a valid concern he raises. I think this is the year we put this crap behind us.

Illicit Drug Use in AFL
Gotta love this one. In my news feed yesterday were 2 articles in a row from Nick. 1. Drug use is out of control. 2. Drugs use not an issue when I was captain

Who has said they have him in the best 22?

Yep. Played pretty well from my limited viewing. Composed in the back line. Will be keen to see how he goes in JLT.

Post Practice Match Discussion - Melbourne v Collingwood
I only saw the 2nd half of the 3rd quarter onwards. VDB looks in ripping shape. He was in everything and was the highlight for me. He was in the center bounce a fair bit in the last. He is a sledgehammer. Looked very fit and took it seriously. Lewis played well. I'm hoping a number of players go past him this year but he will be important in the first few rounds while we get other players back up to speed and I'm happy that he is on the list. Sparrow played wing and then moved into the center bounce at times. Physically ready to play and will get game time this year. Looked like a first year player who didn't quite belong yet and didn't seem to position himself that well to get the ball, but when he was in a position to get it he did a lot right. Didn't look clean but he was determined to impact the contest and his second and third efforts were great. Preuss looked good. Clearly not as polished or composed as Gawn. Had the opportunity to kill a bloke in the last 10 minutes and pulled out. I reckon if it was round one he would have smashed the bloke. Will be very interested to see how the two ruck situation will continue over the JLT.
