I'm always a little confused about the rules. My understanding is that we have room for him as a category a or b (we would take him as a cat B) rookie if he makes it through the main draft without attracting a bid from a rival club. If a rival club bids on him in the main draft we would need to match which we would be unlikely to do?

It would be a huge shock for the crows to pick someone else at pick 4.
-
Showed enough for us to be optimistic that 2025 will be the year he can develop into a consistent best 23 player. Good height. Clean pickup. Decent defensively. Decent disposal. He looks a smidgen slower than he needs to be to nail that position. He was recruited as a winger as memory serves?

van Rooyen marks on the lead and the crowd scream "Rooooooooo!!!" Tauru marks on the lead and the crowd scream "Ruuuuuuuu!" Trade Gruzewski in from GWS next year and then we can all scream "Gruuuuuuuu!"

Really want the draft to be done and dusted for this exact reason. I've looked at the options too closely now and have my personal preferences. In reality I've watched some YouTube highlights and read some phantom drafts and don't have a clue what is the best result. Can't help feeling like I will be disappointed instead of happy on draft day despite knowing that Taylor will make the right decisions.

He's going to have to fight Chandler to get his role as pressure act hff back. Hopefully the coaches make that role a touch more on the offensive side going forward. Would love to see Tholstrup get some more time there.

I must have missed the news of the club offering Nev a job. Interesting.
-
Convince him of what? I'm confused what you are talking to Nev about.
-
No. Saty spoke to him though. He will try again.

Good ruck/forwards are unicorns. Luke gets under rated because he good but not great at both positions.
-
Do you hold an official role within the club now?
-
That's fair and the most likely outcome. I think a number of us who have focused on the draft since the end of the season are happy with the top picks but also wishing we had another pick around the 20s. Pushing pick 9 back a few places wouldn't be bad if we were still getting our target (similar to the Pickett situation).

Not even 1? Jesus. Imagine how good he would be if he had normal knees

Very hard to place where he will go. Both he and Armstrong have come from nowhere to be in the top 15 of most phantom drafts. Tauru looks to be the better footballer of the two to me, he attacks the ball so well, but looks better as a defender than a forward. I'm Tipping that Richmond will take him with one of there top 10 picks or that North will split pick 2 to go back in the draft a bit to pick him or Armstrong up. There is every possibility that they pick either Armstrong or Tauru with pick 2. If he was there at pick 9 then we would have to consider him heavily.

A very real possibility here. I reckon he could play round 1 at HBF with Rivers pushing into the middle. Good size. Excellent footy IQ.

Sam was always going to take time. The more time that went on the more he seemed to get in his own head which worked the other way. His first year at Casey looked great and then it all went downhill. Sam had that awesome elim final against Geelong. I'll always remember him for that mark over Blicavs in the first and the look of shock on Blicavs face. I was there that night with 95k people and reckon I've watched the highlights a minimum of 50 times This is how I will choose to remember him.

100% agree. It is probably the hardest position to fill though. A player around 200cm tall who needs to be good enough as a tall forward to warrant selection. Jackson and the DeKonning boys are the standouts. Sam Darcy for bulldogs. Hayden McLean for Swans. Then you start moving into the Mason Cox territory.

I thought 49 was slightly unders myself so understand the f3 swap. Personally I thought we should have gotten something more back from the Essendon trade.

Nailed it

They didn't want pick 13, Atkins or Lukosius. Big winners.
-
Port the immediate losers. Pies did ok. Suns did well.

So to fix the mistake of paying overs they pay overs again? Let's hope so.

Home team plays games at home. Ok.
