I don't really understand the social club side of things, is this a place to go to all year round or just game days? What benefit is this venue meant to provide? Wtih differen't level of memberships, people have access to demon memebers bars at the G, outside of the G we have the Duke deal.

While cricket crowds are on the decline I'd like to think that the MCG crowd was also affected due to a scheduling conflict. 23k turned out to the A-League at Etihad, some of the crowd would have probably gone to the cricket, but 10 years ago cricket would have the been the popular selection in the event of a conflict. True. Going to the cricket you get the atmosphere. At home you see the game better, you don't get sunburnt, you save $30 on the entry ticket, and a carton of beer is about the same price as 6 mid-strengths at the G.

Can any gym junkies / fitness nuts explain the above. I understand bulking up and trimming down, but what I don't get is why do you bulk up for preseason and then trim down to a playing weight? Why not just bulk up to the playing weight and maintain it?

Could we be planning on delisting Taspcott and then picking him up as a Rookie? Similar in that they both had the bodies to play AFL but never managed to survive a preseason or be fit enough to play at a consistent level.

Someone is no doubt tearing up the track, someone is having his first proper preseason, and someone is fully fit after carry a niggle all year but they'll roll their ankle in mid Jan and miss 2 - 30 weeks.

This is what I don't understand about Pre-Season Draft with Free Agency now. Tim Membrey can be delisted and become a DFA and pick any club he wants to go to. Lets say Sydney offer a contract to Tim Membrey, Tim then declines the contract and they have no option other than to delist him therefore he becomes a DFA... so what is the point to the Pre-Season draft then?

I don't want to turn this into a Watts bashing, but if Adelaide we're willing to part with Danger field for 2 or 3 plus Watts and we then decided to remove Watts from the deal then I'm totally let down by this decision. Speculative kid + a KPF come defeneder, come midfielder, come high half forward who has become nothing for an A grade mid. Win.

Its amazing that each year some basket case team is able to turn it around and recruit players while we still remain anchored to the bottom. Then Brisbanes kids walk out on the club, they manage to draft well and managed to be competitive for most of the year and now they've secured two big names. God help us if Nathan Jones leaves.

Agree, pick 2 for a talented kid, pick 3 for one ready made talented AFL player eg. Shiel. But at the moment it appears no one wants to give up that player or that player doesn't want to come to us, So picks 2 and 3 will need to be taken to draft.

Both Lowden and Grimley are up for trade, both would be best 22 at Melbourne. Goal kicking ruckman don't pop-up all that often, would be nice to get one of them.
