  1. Cross is worth another year whether he plays seniors or not, him being a backup/playing coach at Casey would be valuable to any new mids we draft this year.
  2. Watts rewarded Toumpas hard running with a goal.
  3. I think we have the right forward structure height wise, Hogan and Pedersen. Dawes can play at Casey until he can impose himself.
  4. Team sheet has him forward, not that really means anything these days.
  5. Can we not include Petracca in the missing players, if we do we might as well add Dangerfield to that list as neither have played a game for Melbourne... yet.
  6. Fair point, I'll change the scope to my limetime or say the last 29 years.
  7. From his salary, no need to hurt the club any more
  8. Nothing good comes from Collingwood. Neeld, Dawes, Lamumba...
  9. At half the salary as well, I know who I'd retaining when contracts are renewed.
  10. How good would Garlett be if he didn't kick ALL his goals on the run
  11. We also play at the MCG for 5 weeks in a row, cant have everything.
  12. Play Pedersen as ruckman next week. Who cares about the hit outs, all are ruckmen are useless around the game, at least Pedersen can kick and mark.
  13. So we've rested Hogan and he'll someone sit out the next 2 or 3
  14. Correction: accidental, low impact, plays for Melbourne = 3 weeks
  15. That female Melbourne trainer has been our BOG
  16. I booked flights to NZ next weekend so I wouldn't watch the Hawthorn match. After tonights effort I'm glad I did.
  17. Dawes has had a mare. Takes out of bounds free at the half forward line, dishes of a hand ball to player under pressure, everyone runs backwards and the ball ends up down at half back. Takes a nice chest mark, misses a relatively simple shot at goal. Takes a nice mark down back, kicks it straight to a Sydney player in their forward line.
  18. Yep, schedule us against Collingwood, Essendon or Hawthorn, big crowd and get done by 40 points. Defeats the whole purpose of not seeing one sided Friday night games. Until we're good enough we wont get them, we cant play Richmond every week. Edit. forgot duhhhh
  19. It also has to do with supporter base. Teams like Carlton, Richmond, Collingwood, Essendon, Hawthorn who all have over 50,000 members will get Friday night games because they also expect people to turn up. The AFL aren't interested in showing Melbourne v West Coast at the MCG with 22,000 turning up.
  20. It's what I though when I saw him named. If they tag Fyfe I'm expecting Vince to get the role so the only other spot I could see McKenzie playing is the small lockdown back role. Jetta doesn't get much of the ball down back so I guess if McKenzie can stop Ballantyne doing anything as a backmen then whether he get's the ball or not probably doesn't matter.
  21. In 2013, Col's final year for the club we also saw him produce his most consistent season. He didn't have those rare games where he get the ball 30+ times and kick 3 goals, he got his 20 touches a few tackles and a goal every couple of weeks. He could have stayed at Melbourne, would probably have been paid more and played more due to our talent but I think he would have been told his services are not longer required at the end of this year which inevitably ended up being the same as Freo. In summary, Colin was a disappointment. He'll no doubt enjoy the freedom of life after football but I also hope that he can find something productive to do with the rest of life rather than waste that away as well.
