  1. Dangerfield, 24, said the success of dual club player and current Demon Cameron Pederson was key to his decision to defect to Jolimont. “Every player plays footy to try and win a premiership and be in a successful side and that’s what I see here at Melbourne,” the All-Australian midfielder said. “Pedo has had some good luck coming here from the Kangaroos two years running for two seasons, that’s a pretty good strike rate.”
  2. At the moment we only need to take one. Billy Strecth F/S, Jetta rookie upgrade. At this rate we'll take Brayshaw with pick 2 and have to pass on pick 3.
  3. Liam Jones and Sam Blease will surprise the competition by becoming the best marking and crumbing combo.
  4. Charlie Dixon has aged badly.
  5. Not quite true, we still have Jamar. But I'm not surprised that no one remebers he was an AA ruck one year.
  6. I'm expecting a quiet trade day today... Once we get our pick for Chip then the wheels will be in motion.
  7. I would have liked to have seen him play as a mid. He was drafted as a mid and thrown into defence because of kicking ability.
  8. Just need to add on the -Collins to the end of his name, will help with Collins Street strategy that Barlett was talking about.
  9. Both first rounds picks, both shown glimpses of talent, both need a change of scenery. I'd do it, if Butcher got it together he'd be a great pick up.
  10. While I'm a little underwhelmed by the names of Merrett, Frost and Lumumba I can see the point. Merrett will fill the void of Frawley and give Frost time to develop in between Casey and seniors. Lumumba will provide run from half back which at present we don't currently have. I expected Billy Stretch is another that they would see as a played to provide that run but I expect him to be allowed to actually develop at Casey next year rather than thrown to wolves. I'd honestly be expecting and happy to see NONE of our players that are recruited through the draft and have never played at AFL level play in the senior side next year.
  11. Well Beamers send off to Brock didn't exactly rocket us up the ladder either.
  12. Agree, it was only 2 weeks ago people were suggesting the real reason for his retirement was the "3 strikes". Now it's he's been banging some other players misses. Lets just leave it be.
  13. He was a big bodied forward, they've turned him into a mid. I don't like these undersized tall's being turned into mids, Bate and McNamara are prime examples. It might work in the twos but not at AFL level.
  14. Anyone care to elaborate on the whole big Mitch, little Mitch thing? Been a long week, I cant think make sense of anything at the moment.
  15. Beams to Brisbane, Swan's cooked, Dangers coming to the Dees... Mitch might want to think again about what club he chooses.
  16. Luke Lowden from Hawthorn, dropped after kicking 3 on debut. Behind Hale, McEvoy and Ceglar.
  17. Cox on one leg would be our number 1 ruckman and provide more mobility.
  18. Was watching as well, basically summed up all that was said.
  19. We'd be silly to not look at him, our ruck stocks are almost non-existent. Jamar - has one year left on his contract which by then will be 2 years to long. He'll more than likely be a number 1 ruckman again next year but the game has past him. Gawn - hopefully he'll be able to stay on the park but he needs support. Spencer - has effort, has aggression, like a lot of our players lacks skill. Hoping we'll get through the year without needing to play him. Fitzpatrick - more of a forward than a ruck, if we lost Jamar, Gawn and Spencer it would be interesting to see if he was able to lift having a guaranteed role.
  20. If he's still available late in the draft I'd use a late pick on McKernan, has talent, just a matter of whether he can get the best out of him. Couldn't hurt to have another player who can play ruck or forward.
  21. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-09-03/boyd-to-bark-on </end thread>
  22. D from me. Could have been a lot better if we finished off better in some of those games, in that being said we also played Carlton, Richmond and Essendon at the right time. At the end of the year those matches would have been a loss. There's enough there to work with, hopefully some new players via the trade/free agency/draft and another pre-season under Roos will see us with 7-10 win team next year.
