  1. No doubt. It's horrible for a young kid to go down and knee injuries are awful. Just awful. But he's young and has time on his side. But after everything poor Trenners has been through, I just want to see him get some continuity in game time.
  2. What a result and nice to hear some young players doing well. On the other hand, what sort of [censored] luck does poor Trenners have? We need him running around getting game time.
  3. I'm very sorry that you get to see a game so rarely and this is the crap that is coming your way I finally find myself at a good hotel with awesome Internet, but I'm not going to waste money and sleeping hours to watch the match as I am more than certain that we will lose. Cant even fathom these team changes. Or why Mission promised us that Garlett will play. Wtf was the point of that?! Also how can ANB not get a game but Wagner does? Nothing against Wagner, but how about rewarding good form?! I am just beyond frustrated right now with this club. Hopefully they put on a decent enough showing on Sunday to make me believe that we aren't forever hopeless.
  4. I'm glad that Jones' personal life is going a bit better than his professional life. If we are still around when this kid is 18, and the AFL haven't scrapped the father/son rule by then, I will enjoy cheering on Jones Jnr.
  5. Being down on form is not the same as having [censored] attitude. He is allowed to have poor games. Nobody is arguing that. He is not allowed to stop trying and spending his game time yelling at teammates and asking for frees. That is not acceptable for a senior footballer, no matter how young. If any other player in our team did that, everyone would be up in arms. But Hogan is apparently excuses because we are horrible and this only impacts him... Funny I don't see any other forward cracking the sads. Or our back line yelling at the midfield for letting so many balls come down their way.
  6. Finally get to enjoy the sweet taste of beating my most hated team. Literally every North supporter I know is a massive [censored], including my now ex boss. I literally want to beat North more than any other side, and yet this never happens. Doubtful this will be the week.
  7. Lloyd is right. His attitude and body language is terrible, and had this been displayed by say Watts, everyone here would be up in arms. But we seem to have some sort of Jesse complex where he is beyond criticism. I do not care how badly we deliver the ball to him or whether we are playing him out of position. He is part of a team, and he is being selfish. I remember him giving Cross a spray last year and I thought that was horrific from a kid. I like that he wants to be successful, but sooking and having a go at teammates isn't how you go about it. It's a terrible look and it needs to be nipped in the bud.
  8. And the worst part is, we don't even have a first round draft pick to look forward to this year. Unless we trade a player... And who in our team is tradable and worth a first round pick?! Good times.
  9. It's amazing how even while on the other side of the world, this club's utter inapptitude and continuous disappointment still gets to me. Way to ruin my [censored] day from the other side of the world. This club's moto should be "we won't cease to disappoint until we cease to exist".
  10. Didn't watch the game but you don't even have the watch us lose games like these to know what's going on. Since last year I've said that Hogans attitude stinks. He will never be an elite player unless he grows up. His constant sooking is pathetic and I blame the club for not stamping this out already. I would put him on notice. Give him a target of second efforts he has to achieve or drop him. We can't bloody tip toe around him because we are too scared the first potential star we've had in decades is going to leave. His attitude sends a bad message to the rest of the young team. Secondly, I will never understand why we recruited Lumumba. Let alone why we select him ahead of guys like Stretch. We need speed and we need kicking efficiency. Last year Lumumba was god awful and I see that nothing has changed. I am so over being disappointed by this club. It feels like nothing will ever change. We make such small steps forward and then undo those steps immediately. It's exhausting. We are exhausting.
  11. I just knew we would lose this match. The more things change the more they seem to stay the same with this club. Still haven't won 2 in a row. Losing to a top up team. Players not putting in. Hogan being a sook. Not good enough and frankly embarrassing.
  12. Back to bed for me. Glad I woke myself up at 5am for this.
  13. And everyone here thought this would be a smashing. Oh dear!
  14. I wouldn't be surprised I would be mighty annoyed but not surprised. Also I'll be thanking my lucky stars that I'm on the other side of the planet where nobody can remind me of such humiliation (except for on social media).
  15. He will not kick a bag. They will put every ounce of their energy into smashing him and triple teaming him, and given his previous display of attitude when things aren't going his way, I would say he won't kick more than 3. Watts usually plays well against Essendon and given his current form I bet he will kick more goals than Hogan.
  16. Brayshaw!!! Love this kid to death. Glad we dropped a tall and kept Dunn out. Essendon are small up forward and we were lacking run. Both H and Brayshaw bring that in spades. Hopefully H is over his first year blues with us and starts delivering. He was highly disappointing last year but brings the sort of half back attack we really need.
  17. Frankly I'm amazed by the level of confidence here This is exactly the type of game we have previously lost. Opposition is struggling, coming off a good win, high expectations... Hope I'm wrong and we do smash them, but I'm not so confident.
  18. Would be ironic if he left now. Delivers on promise, leaves to another team. It's very Melbourne like. Doubt it'll happen though.
  19. Thank you to whoever posted the last quarter of the game on YouTube. Not sure if they post on Demonland or not, but thanks to them I was finally able to watch a bit of the game on my phone with third world internet. Hooray! Was a great last quarter which was won primarily due to our midfield dominance (wow Oliver is amazing). The only disappointment for me was the lapse of concentration in the last 2 minutes. First letting them hold possession down back and kick one, and secondly letting them get a clean clearance with 11 seconds to go. Other than that, I was super impressed with our fast ball movement and seeing Garlett on the wing reinforces my opinion that we desperately need elite speed on the outside ASAP. I assume Kent isn't being tried on the wing due to tank and fitness issues, but he strikes me as a good short term solution.
  20. Since we won't win it this year, I'll be barracking hard for the Dogs to win it. Not sure it's possible, but gees wouldn't it be nice to see someone new win the damn thing? Not to mention one of the poor clubs! If it's Hawthorn, Geelong, West Coast or Sydney again, we may as well give up.
  21. Best on? Injuries? What's wrong with Hogan and his 3 goals? How was Oliver? When should I buy finals tickets? Help a sister with third world internet out!
  22. A summary for those of us who slept thru most of it only to wake up to dying Internet? Best on? Injuries? What's wrong with Hogan and his 3 goals? How was Oliver? When should I buy finals tickets?
  23. Anyone who questions the importance of Roos' work over the past 2 seasons, was obviously asleep the previous 6 seasons. We were on the brink of extinction. Look at us now. Just two years and we are a different club. We owe as much to Roos and Jackson as we do to any other person in the history of this club.
  24. So jealous of everyone who gets to watch today. First game of the season is always so exciting, the hope it brings is like no other. Hopefully I'll wake up tomorrow to a great first win and some delightful highlights of Oliver kicking 4 goals. Go Dees!!!
  25. In Italy now, but had all my stuff stolen in France. Worse thing is I can't watch us play. Also that I have literally nothing left, but all that [censored] is replaceable. Finally watching us not suck is a once in a lifetime experience. Not sure it's worth spending the money to watch broken bits of play on an iPhone.
