I fear that the MFC will be forced to endure the most heinous of punishment and take back young Scully for our alleged misdemeanours. Haven't we suffered enough Demetriou ?

If you could clone one former Demon player...

I'd like to some cross breeding. Imagine mating Matty Whelan and Alan Johnston. Sublime skills with a mad dog appetite for the player and the contest. -
Folau to quit... it's all starting to unravel...
Outside fifty replied to hardtack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yeah worth every cent. Skoda stadium packed to the rafters with delirious fans chanting for GWS whilst the NSW press hacks report Kevin Sheedy's every word to fill both back and front pages. In other news Barnaby Joyce has quit politics to take up an Arts Council grant for a street theatre project he has been working on entitled "Requiem for a Sad Clown". -
Dees elevate Michael Evans and Dan Nicholson to primary list
Outside fifty replied to dees189227's topic in Melbourne Demons
Happy with both Evans and Nicho being elevated and also happy to retain both Magner and Couch as rookies. It says something about Evans that he was elevated despite all his injury problems. I suspect Neeld sees Evans as potentially being the best of the bunch, if only we could get him on the park. -

Apologies to Neeta, but still one is a sad reflection. -
Caroline Wilson's descent into gutter journalism

Given there has been along history of tanking in the AFL prior to our alleged miserable effort, one has to wonder why we have been singled out for such treatment by the AFL and in particular the media. It does seem as though our esteemed CEO has more than a few enemies amongst the swill that call them the third estate. But I can't help but think the root cause of all this ill feeling is generated from within the club itself. Most clubs are tight, water tight. Supporters, Board of Dirrectors, Coterie groups and Administration would by enlarge always put the clubs interests first even if they felt aggrieved. At the MFC we seem to have breed a culture of self interest that proceeds everything we do. A case in point is our former President Paul Gardner. What other former club Pres do you know that would willingly stick the knife into the club he supposedly loved. The Club has a poor history in showing loyalty to it's staff be they football department our back office. We have only one 300 game players at our club despite being the oldest. It seems to me that our lack of a genuine club culture over the last couple of decades is our undoing in some of these matters. Yes we are an entity but are we a club in the true sense of the word. -
Brilliant Strategy Unfolding

Well said BBB. Agree with everything you said except for your spelling of Defence. -
I don't listen to trade radio or to SEN and I don't read the Oz or the Hun. As such I couldn't give a fat rats clacker what some numb nut called Damo thinks of my football club. As for Terry I feel sorry for the poor bugger, once he coached Football teams and played in Premierships, now he does something called trade radio. There is a lesson to be learn't there kids, too many solarium sessions will fry your brains. I love it that these media maggots hate us. From now on its US AGAINST THE THEM.

I'll teach those smarmy establishment Silver tails at MFC a lesson or two for employing me. Power to proletariat Comrades. Come Comrade Morton, Come Comrade Cook lets over throw these bourgeois pigs.
-
My guess is that they are making room for rookie elevations. Neeld obviously ranks the likes of Nicholson, Evans ,Magner and Couch higher than Morton, Gysberts and Martin.

Rioli, Fyfe, Nic nat and Martin your cut

You forgot Diamond Jim Tillbrook.

It's worth noting that the FD have pretty much got all the players they targeted. In this respect it has been a very successful campaign. Whether they are the right players is yet to be seen. -
Leaves a nasty stain too.

Latest murmurings of a crazy time

Just read in the AGE that Morton goes to the Eagles for pick 88, and Gysberts to North for Pederson. Don't like either deal to be honest but the Morton deal in particular is insane. -
Three players who you expect a BIG 2013 from ...
Outside fifty replied to a topic in Melbourne Demons
Three players I would love to have big years from are Taggert, Gysberts and Tynan. Three players I expect to have a big year from are Trengrove, Frawley and Dawes. Three players who could be smokies are Evans, Nicholson and Fitzpatrick. Oops that nine ! -

Exactly! Norms cursed restless soul has finally found peace. He's no longer [censored] at us and as such our fortunes are destined to change. No longer will he roam the change rooms of the MFC tying together Jack Watts boot laces or slipping laxatives into Cale Morton's protein drinks. No more will he whisper quietly into the ears of the recruiters on draft day the name of some useless skinny kid with a poor attitude and a work ethic to match. Now Norm stands proud overlooking the once great Club he nurtured and loved. The curse has been lifted and Norm has forgiven us for our sins of self indulgence and weakness. He's back in our corner with an insatiable appetite for success born of 48 years of failure. P.s Norm's quietly pleased with the way young Neeld's going about things, although he is disappointed that he doesn't use Brylcream.

Thanks Jonesbag. An actual post on topic, much appreciated. -
Denham continues to lower the bar at an alarming rate. His catalogue of incompetence continues to grow unabated. Personally I can't wait for the next thrilling instalment of his ineptitude.

Excellent result. Well played MFC. Now we can resume wringing our hand in desperation over the Dawes Wellingham "NOT SO SUPER TRADE". -
Very disappointed in Bail this year. I honestly thought that he was due for a breakout year, alas it never came. Still l think his appetite for the contest is fantastic and that to me is the most crucial ingredient for a footballer. Skills can be worked on and if you don't believe me remember The Duke Earl Spalding. At Melbourne he couldn't hit the side of a super tanker by foot and yet at Carlton they actually taught him how to kick the bloody ball and he became a good CHF. I would like to keep Bail for at least one more season and hope the football department put some serious work into his kicking and tackling technique.

Not sure appealing to the editorial staff of the Oz on the grounds of conflict of interest would have any effect at all. They struggle to spell the word ethics let alone understand the concept of conflict of interest.
