  1. As sad as I am for big Mitch the fact is we will cope with his loss. The reality is we just have too.Time for Martin to stand up and perhaps for Cook to show us what he can do. It should also be noted that two of our best quarters this year were the 2nd and 3rd quarters, both minus Mitch. Get well big fella and come back bigger and better.
  2. The most disturbing thing about this thread is that someone admits to listening to gold fm.
  3. Very harsh on Bate who has just played his best game for several years I think. Otherwise I pretty much agree with you on the players you nominated. Obviously Taggert, Fitzy and Strauss are all along way off due to injury or illness.
  4. 6. Jones 5. Watts 4. Mcdonald 3. Rivers 2. Clark 1. Grimes
  5. Knock Knock. Who is it? It's me, Tom and I got the stuff. Who is it ? It's me! Tom, and I got the stuff man! Toms not here man.
  6. Sad to hear of Jacks illness. The important thing is that Jack focus on his health and the day to day trials of living with this illness. Look after your self big fella and hopefully well see you back in action.Take heart in the fact that others before you have walked the same path and had stellar careers. All the best.
  7. Personally I'm outraged by this so called Melbourne stereotype. Pure fiction if you ask me. Yes I ski but never on Queens Birthday. In fact I only ski mid week so I can avoid the riff raff, and I would never drive a Range Rover. After all the Discovery is just as good and 20k's cheaper. Bartender one more Jagermeister please before I hit Big D again.
  8. How's this for a centre line. Johnson, Wilson and Flower.
  9. Second game back and it was a ripper. His run and spread was excellent and provided the gut running we have desperately lacked. His kicking is of course his achilles heel but tonight it was good. Anybody who has watched this kid train wouldn't be surprised by what they saw tonight. One to watch.
  10. Lets face it the Bugler boy is a flat track bully. Over the years I have been dismayed at how undisciplined and selfish he is. His crazy antics both on and off the field show no love for the jumper. I for one am sick and tied of his inability to follow the simplest sheet music. Send him back to band camp where he can find some much needed confidence and learn how man up.
  11. Right now we are one of the media's whipping boys and guess what, we deserve every bit of it.
  12. What a ridiculous concept. MFC supporters showing some balls and actually supporting the club. It will never work.
  13. To the MFC I would say "Stand Firm. Don't flinch and support your Coach".
  14. Good post. Totally agree, time for MFC to stand firm and unequivocally support Neeld.
  15. Outstanding post MFC It's time for this club to look within to remedy the malaise that effects this club. For too long we have sought the soft option or the easy answer and this in turn has eroded the moral fibre and fortitude of this club. No more white knights, no more tanking and no more knee jerk reactions. It's time that the MFC stood firm and stare down it's inner demons. It's time for the MFC and it's supporters to grow a spine and stand our ground. To do otherwise would be cowardly and I suspect ultimately suicidal. I am probably older than most who post on this forum and over the last 47 years supporting this club I have witnessed the same pattern of self destruction repeat it's self time and again. To again look for the soft option or quick fix would be just repeating the same behaviour. Its time this club stood resolute and unequivocally supported Mark Neeld and the football department to rebuild this club inside out. We have no other option we running out of time. To over turn the coaching staff, Admin or board would be the without doubt the stupidest thing we have ever done, and I have witnessed some monumental stupidity perpetuated by this club. We would become not just a joke but pariahs within the Football industry. As for who will stand up for this club. I believe Mark Neeld will be that Man. Ably supported by ALL OF US. ( Hope to see you in the trenches comrades ).
  16. Max certainly has something about him. I think you may be right.
  17. Summed it up perfectly. Clark has the the "ATTiTUDE" and he stands out like dogs balls. Howe could be anything but as always it comes down to how we develop our players. Gysbert falls into the same category. The simple truth is we can't afford to keep looking at the draft as our salvation and need to work with what we got. For the record I think that Watts, Trengove, Howe, Mckenzie and Gysberts have the potential to all be stars.
  18. The sad reality is that any forward would struggle with the way the ball enters our forward line at the moment. This is why we have seen a revolving door of our forward line players heading to Casey and back. There is of course one exception and that is Mitch Clark, his efforts this year have been fantastic and should not be underestimated. I believe when we start to run and carry the ball and break lines the forward line will start to open up and the work load will be shared around a lot more. At the moment the game plan seems to be bomb it to Clark and hope for the best. Ricky Bobby has the talent and as our game plan evolves he will come into his own as will the other forwards.
  19. Nice first post Demonism. The Bennell's are I believe cousins as are the Jetta's. As for Allen Jackovich he is without doubt one of my all-time favourite MFC players. Cocky, brash, flawed and insanely talented.
  20. An excellent post "CARN THE". Your concern with the confidence of the players is something that I too worry about and I hope and pray that the coaching staff are equally aware of it cancerous nature. It's often said that the best form of defence is attack and whilst I know that this is a rather simplistic concept in the case of our midfield it appears to have some validity.
  21. Absolutely spot on DC. I'm sick of watching dumb footballers running around in red and blue.
  22. Non existant game today. I like Ro Bail but his form has been very disappointing this year. Maybe time for a spell at Casey and see how Nicholson or Blease a go.
  23. Outstanding game from big Mitch today. I have been laughing at lethal for years now, ( never to his face though ). Did any body notice how much Malthouse enthused about big Mitch today. i get the feeling that he was having a subtle go at Matthews.
  24. 6. Clarke 5. Frawley 4. Jones 3. Howe 2. Morton 1. McDonald
