  1. I think you may be on the money there. Apparently this story has been hanging around for the last month with the players and not the club raising concerns.
  2. Opps almost forgot, excellent post Six6Six. Great shots.
  3. Back in my day you could buy a camera that would last you a lifetime. Today with digital, your camera will become obsolete within 3-4 years and pretty much worthless on the second hand market. The upshot is that camera's are dirt cheap in comparison. The rate of technological advances and sensor design makes updating your equipment regularly almost mandatory. My first digital SLR cost me $5000 for the body only and today sits in a cupboard and would be lucky to fetch $ 200 bucks on Ebay. I only have one piece of advice in regards to buying camera's ( I own about twenty, including 4 now retired Digital SLR's} Buy the best lenses you can afford. Good lenses never become obsolete. A good lens can make a ordinary camera excellent and a poor lens can make a fantastic camera appear ordinary.
  4. Thanks Pates. Enjoyed watching that. Your choice of Collingwood talent was spot on, but then again so many to choose from.
  5. I have very high hopes for young Max. We all know that potentially on field he could be anything, if of course those wonky knees hold up. Off field he could also be a major asset. He's the type of player that supporters and team mates love. A character that makes going to and playing the game fun, literally a marketing departments dream. Cross your fingers and toes and hopefully big Max will become a regular fixture this year.
  6. Just wondering if I read the article right. Did Pierik suggest that the AFL were concerned with the way the investigation was conducted? Apart from alleged leaks from the MFC suggesting this I can't remember ever reading from any media sources that the AFL were concerned as well.
  7. Great article that I believe gives a accurate summation and context of events than six months of dross regurgitated by the media to date. I find the timing interesting and the cynic in me wonders how long if at all this article has been sat on.
  8. Sorry Macca but I'm not sure the God fearing boys of Switchfoot would welcome the idea of the Demons playing one of their songs, which is a pity as "darkhorses" would also be a contender. May i suggest a little song by the Beards called "You should consider having sex with a bearded man".
  9. Now your taking the [censored] right?
  10. After Demetriou's glorious reign over the AFL and in particular the hugely successful push into Greater Western Sydney as well as the wonderfully orchestrated failed tanking investigation into the MFC, he has decided to turn his inconsiderable talents to the mother land and take on the Greek Presidency. Apparently Andy is so impressed by his chosen successor Giligan McLachlan that he feels very comfortable relinquishing the reins of power over to his young protege. "Really there's bugger all to do except sit back and count the cash. Even in my wildest dreams I could never have envisioned the outstanding success that GWS would become. Last year they regularly had crowds in excess of Three Thousand!" Demetriou said. When asked what was his greatest challenge was during his time in power he nominated the MFC tanking investigation. "I go on holidays in the middle of the season for a couple of months and that little ambitious turd Anderson starts a tanking investigation into the MFC. What was he thinking? What's worse is that it's based holy and solely on what numb nut McLean says and that old hag Wilson's vendetta against Schwab. I had to do something 'cos Fitzpatrick was breathing down my neck threatening to have my balls in a sling if this went any further. In the end I sacked Anderson and appointed the AFP equivalent of Abbott and Costello to head up the investigation, spread some BS about Haddad being a United Nations investigator of repute which the media swallowed hook line and sinker and then let the buggers [censored] it up from the gecko. Pure Genius on my behalf if I do say so my self. It did take a while to bury that crappy investigation, we had to look as if we were actually doing something.", he was quoted as saying. For now Demitriou is looking to the future and job ahead as Greek President, "I've had a look at the books and they seem to be in tip top order. As we all know the Greek economy is the powerhouse of Europe and now must look to expand it's influence within the region, I'm thinking Germany could do with a hand". Greece's gain is surely our loss.
  11. In all likely hood a storm in a tea cup or more realistically a plastic schooner cup. Certainly not smart behaviour but who ever said these guys were smart?Their footballers for christ sake. Who amongst us hasn't been tossed out of a nightclub or boozer for some completely juvenile behaviour. Some of us conveniently forget the folly of their own youth and are as quick to judge as a hack journo or an AFL administrator. Yes they earn big bucks and yes in today over analysed game they are supposed to be role models, but they are first and foremost young men. Testosterone and biology has something to do with all of this and unless we start neutering our young draftees this isn't the last time such stupidity will raise it's ugly head. Footballers as role models has always been a dubious concept. The very qualities we admire the most in a footballer on the field are also the same qualities that can and do cause some of them trouble in society. Lets not make them hate being footballers because we are willing to deprive them of the same rights of passage that we all enjoyed. I reckon a couple of extra 400's at the end of each session for a month should do the trick .On a brighter note it is heartening to know that our resident bad boy "COL" has not been mentioned in despatches. Well done Colin!
  12. For me this investigation goes beyond just the mere allegation of whether we tanked or not. To be honest I couldn't give a fats rats clacker if we did or didn't, at the end of the day it's all just semantics. The fact is the club is under siege and for once must stand resolute in it's defence of all and sundry. As I see it, this is the line in the sand that could define what the MFC actually stands for. This is our opportunity to make a statement to the football world. I know many of you will laugh at this but I see this as a positive opportunity for the club and not a negative. An opportunity that will allow us to redefine ourselves within the AFL landscape. An opportunity to show that we as a football club will no longer be the patsy of the AFL and will fight for whats right for the MFC FIRST AND FOREVER
  13. Yes Master. We will wait patient like the budgie and cunning like the Wombat. When the time is right we will strike with the speed of a fat lazy Labrador in need of a feed. Our enemies will be vanquished.
  14. Emma Quayle writes from a completely different perspective than that of Kerowhine. She clearly loves football as opposed to Wilson who barely tolerates or understands the game. Kudos to the MFC for allowing the AGE into the inner sanctum. They had every right to tell them to get stuffed, instead they took the higher road and as such a wonderful positive piece of writing has been the result. It speaks volumes of the Clubs regard for Quayle as a journalist and also has me wondering if this is an attempt by the AGE to rectify past wrongs, or at least an attempt to start to balance the ledger.
  15. Yet another fine article by Emma Quayle in the Age today. She writes simply and honestly without any suggestion of vitriol or hatred and dare I say she knows her stuff. She's coming to get you kero ! P.s. she has such a lovely smile as well, unlike Kero who looks like someone has rubbed a dog turd under her nose.
  16. Yes Clint Wilson can take pride in the knowledge that she makes up the story before the opposition. I's all about filling column space and the truth, facts and ethics can take a back seat. Compare Wilson's injective to that of Emma Quayle's excellent piece on the crows. Where Carowhine would resort to unsupported accusation and innuendo Qualye simply reported established facts and maintained on objective standpoint throughout her article's, never being arrogant enough to sit in judgement. Kero must be looking over her shoulder at young Emma with considerable anxiety.
  17. Didn't notice Gillies but I did see Pedersen rock up toward the end of the session.
  18. Despite being the smallest the big Russian was the most dominant of the three. His body positioning was superb. To my eye it looks as if he's slimmed down a bit and seems to have a bit more zip in his legs
  19. Yes that was I. By digital standards the camera 's a bit of an antique, just like me!
  20. Interestingly I work with a couple of young lads who are very much into the club scene. Some of the names they have told me that they have seen coming out of cubicles in a highly excited state and a hay fever like sniffle is surprising to say the least. This is definitely a problem for the AFL. Of course nothing will happen until Adrian and Andrew remove their own heads from their own posterior's . They can't see anything wrong but they know something smells fishy.
  21. From todays training session.Just a comparison between Jamar and Spencer. He's a lot taller than Jamar and about as tall as Spencer. During ruck drills he was constantly being encouraged by Brian Royal and seem to equip himself well.
  22. Last one. I like the way Tappy almost launches Bail into orbit
  23. If anybody knows how to setup a link to a photobucket gallery could you let me know. This damn interweb has confused the hell out of me.
