  1. Our real enemy is 40 odd years of soft self satisfied complacency that comes from within.
  2. Couldn't agree more. A solid hard body type who was never really given a fair go by the club.
  3. Jack Gunston, Jordan Russell, maybe even Brock Mclean.
  4. I suspect your on to something here. We need the Club to call for an inquiry. I suggest the we get Rexy Hunt to chair it. He's crossed swords with these thugs before. If indeed the scallop industries tentacles have reached as far as GWS, Rexy will sort them out toot sweet. He wasn't born and breed in bay thirteen for nothing.
  5. I don't know, but to me it seems that the Scully family and western Sydney seem like a good fit. Apparently the icing on the cake was when Sheedy offered Tom a lucrative cut of the Falafel concession at the ground a la Harry Kewell and Victories arrangement.
  6. 6 Moloney 5 Frawley 4 Bate 3 Trengove 2 Mckenzie 1 Martin
  7. Like most forwards at the club Bate is a victim sub standard forward line delivery. We crucify our forwards. I suspect that given an opportunity at another club with a well drilled mid field supplying the forwards he would flourish. His game today was excellent, his willingness to present can't be questioned. I for one have always thought the problem with our forward line lay further up the field.
  8. Their have been times over recent years when I have questioned what we stood for. Never again ! Thank you Rupert and thank you Demon Land 7
  9. I feel his pain. To be honest I didn't thing his reactions was over the top. Don't all supporters carry on like this? If they followed the dee's they sure as hell would!
  10. Reverse the roles. Look at this from a GWS perspective. If they have initially offered TS 5 million over 5 years they must be surely rethinking that initial offer. If it's true that TS was made an offer in late 2010 his subsequent form and of course injuries would severely down grade the offer. It is after all just an offer and is not contractually binding. If i were a GWS supporter, ( do they actually exist?) iI would be furious on the team wasting 5 million on an injured 20 year old with 30 games of experience. Which ever way you look at it doesn't make any sense.
  11. Couldn't agree more. Far too much jumping at shadows going on.
  12. 6. Rivers 5. Gysbert 4. McKenzie 3. Jones 2. Martin 1. Trengove
  13. Watts 6 Rivers 5 Martin 4 Sylvia 3 Frawley 2 MacDonald 1
  14. 6 Watts 5 Gysberts 4 Sylvia 3 Martin 2 Jetta 1 Evans
  15. I know that it's been said before but I will reiterate. For all the doom and gloom posted on these sights there are encouraging signs. At no point today did I doubt the teams effort.Yes the individual efforts of Davey and Newton were embarrassing, but the debut of Evans was a beaut. Stef Martin continues to develop nicely as does Jordie Gysberts. Jack Watts is really starting to deliver on what he promised and Nev Jetta was also good today, perhaps a break out game? Docklands has been a grave yard for our forward line forever. Its seem as though our FD has no effective strategy to combat the congestion and really struggles to formulate a game plan. The reality is most of those senior players who failed to stand up and show leadership today wont be part of our team going forward because they lack leadership we require of them, that is indeed why we pursued a youth policy in the first place. In a couple of years our leadership group will consist of Trengove, Scully , Mckenzie, Watts ,Frawley, Tapscott Gysbert and Grimes. That my friends is a daunting line up. Add to that some outstanding talent being nurtured at Casey such as Howe, Blease, Cook, MacDonald, Gawn and maybe Strauss and the future doesn't look to bad.
  16. The fact is Davey is simply being played out of position at the moment. Putting him in the mid field worked well initially but the opposition has cottoned on to his weakness, i.e. his mental toughness. Putting him back in the forward line seems to be the obvious solution, although I do like the idea of trying him as a Sub as well.
  17. Morton and Watts will both develop into fine players given the right guidance, time and patience. My concern is the MFC capable of providing any of these. Playing Morton as a sub today was a stupid descion that didn't do the kid any favors. Watts was ok in his intensity today and that is a step foward as far as I'm concerned, he seemed to find space regularly and was not used, of more concern was Bennells game.
