  1. Here are some images from todays session.
  2. Michael Evans is pickles,
  3. I think you might be right Biff. She seems to be obsessing about this story in a very unhealthy manner. I have this vision of her crouched over and rocking in the corner of a room that is plastered with pictures of Cameron Schwab , whilst wearing a tin foil hat so she can stop demonland posters from reading her mind. Quite sad really. With this in mind for the sake of Wilson's own well being can I ask my fellow demonland posters not to mention what a fine Journalist Emma Quayle is in any of your posts, it might just send Keroline over the edge.
  4. I'm not referencing what Carroll vs Martin, Edwards or Connors actually did , just the double standard applied which you yourself agree are apparent. This to me is the point of conjecture. How can Wilson ever be considered a Journalist of respect or integrity when she demonstrates an ingrained bias. You may counter that this bias does not diminish the truth in respect to some of her analysis of the MFC, but I would suggest that a body of work that shows consistent bias can never be viewed without that intent being apparent as motivation for the article. Once a Journalist embarks on this direction their motivation will and should always be called into question.
  5. Fan. it's interesting that you cited the Nathan Carroll sacking as an example of Wilson's journalistic bona fides. To most people on this thread it simply highlights the double standards she applies to all things MFC as opposed to her beloved Richmond. Why do her Journalistic skills fail her so frequently when the Tiogs are involved. I'm still waiting for insightful pieces on Dustin Martin and Arron Edwards and the cultural problems that exist at tigerland. Wilson's catalogue of work has been particularly erroneous over her last couple of years and has shown a considerable decline in its content and quality whilst suggesting a hint of desperation. I think that Wilson's relevance to the game is in decline and that she her self is well aware of this situation.
  6. Very sad to hear. A true competitor and great role model. All the best Barty with your future endeavours. p.s. I think Barty would make a great addition to the FD.
  7. "Their coming home with a wet sail". Somehow in football speak this means exactly the opposite of what it does in sailing.
  8. Jack Dyer " He extends his arms into the air like giant testicles to take the mark" Not really a mixed metaphor but it still makes me laugh.
  9. To use a Mcavaney. He sounds delicious. Actually always thought Gillies was an underrated pie. Not quite your Villi's pie but not far off it.
  10. I think I can see a twinkle in his eye. P.s. lt looks like Josh Tynan has spent some time in the Gym as well.
  11. Best of luck Master. You should look back at your career with Melbourne with pride. You played some excellent games and were always committed to the cause. I wish you well.
  12. Probably for the best. I for one would have great difficulty yelling out " Go CHEYNEE". Just doesn't seem manly somehow. Not that theres anything wrong with not being manly.
  13. For those wondering about the size of taggert I have a feeling the kid has a way to go when compared to the beast that is Tappy
  14. I did that today. Here are my results. 727 couldn't give a fats rats clacker. 125 said we tanked but we shouldn't get punished because every body was doing it and the rules of the AFL tacitly encouraged it, 54 asked me for a couple of bucks to buy a train ticket to get home. 22 said not to worry about any AFL sanctions because the Mayan calendar predicts that the world will end on December the 21st and the draft sanctions won't hurt us. 51 said they couldn't believe it wasn't butter. 3 invited me to partake in a personality test. 17 said they thought Caroline Wilson was fantastic in "No Country for old Men". And finally one said that he was devastated that Melbourne delisted Juice Newton and therefore we must be punished. Case Closed. P.s The last person interviewed may or may not have been Juice Newton.
  15. I suspect thats what Wilson and others Media muppets want us to do. They need us to give this story oxygen, and we have denied them that. For once we have boxed clever whilst our opponents have thrown wild punches that have failed to connect.
  16. Whilst I agree there is not much to be gained by the Club pursuing legal action, I believe that individuals named may have a case worthy of litigation. If the investigations finds no case to answer in particular regards to the conduct of CC and CS then I for one would encourage them to purse defamation action against both the AGE and Wilson if they feel suitably aggrieved. I say this only because Wilson in particular needs to bought to account. The vendetta that she has waged against the club and the individuals involved should not go unchecked. Failure to do so will inevitably lead to further confrontations with her down the track. I believe that individual defamation would not overly distract the club on field. In an ideal world I would like to see a court order preventing Wilson from writing articles about the MFC and it's employees.
  17. I'm with you Normie. When you consider the setbacks this kid has endured it's a credit to his perseverance and character. He is one player that I would really like to see succeed .
  18. Ahh the "TRUTH". My favourite banner headline from the truth was in reference to Bart Cummings having the favourite in the Cox plate one year. The headline was "BARTS COX IN BOX". Pure gold.
  19. Whats this tawdry gossip on demonland. I am conflicted. Do I want to know more or should I take the moral high ground? Aw stuff morality. Steve Price , really !
  20. Cudo's Jack. A very well written piece. Unlike the tripe that has has emanated from the poison pen of Wilson. It would serve as wonderful juxtaposition to her hate filled bile. Well researched, well written, and clever, something that you will never find in any of her articles. I implore you to forward it on to the AGE letter section.
  21. Well done Brad. I wish you all the best in your new career.
  22. I'm sensing that this story has taken a different tack. Todays AGE has the Wilson rant buried well down the list of AFL related stories, number 11 in fact. Why would they lead with this story yesterday, and then by today try to bury it amongst the rest of their AFL related stories. I have a suspicion that Wilson hasn't got anything else to throw at us or maybe has been told to pull her head in. The AGE's senior Editor's would be trying to gauge which way the wind is blowing on this one and might have come to the conclusion that the story is running out of legs or starting to track negatively for them. I also like many on this forum get the Impression that we are being subjected to a public trial via the media with the AFL's tacit approval. It seems fairly obvious that information is being leaked from the investigation to the media. Why would they do this if they had sufficient evidence to act through the normal channels. Is it because as I believe, that they don't have sufficient evidence. I have a gut feeling that their investigation has faltered. This could be interpreted in several ways, are they either trying to flush out more evidence or is this one way of punishing us whist also sending out a clear message to all other clubs, whilst knowing that they will not be able to act against us once the finding are released? Why has all of this information been released two weeks ahead of the investigation deadline for reporting? Two weeks is an eternity in the media life cycle and the story could well be dead come reporting day. Then again I could be wrong and this could just be the calm before the storm. Either way it seems to me as though the AFL has deliberately compromised it's own investigation. One further point to consider. Wilson appears to have been the chosen AFL attack dog in this matter. This in itself seems strange given her strained relationship with AFL. I might be reading too much into this and crediting the AFL with Machiavellian prowess beyond their due, but given Wilson's obvious vendetta against Schwab, did they choose her because they knew that she would over step the mark as per Saturdays article. In effect deliberately compromising their own investigation whilst irrevocably damaging Wilson's own reputation within the Industry. Yeah a bit far fetched I guess but a nice thought though.
  23. I consider myself a pretty cool old fart but if my daughter ever entertained the thought of hooking up with a footballer I'd go all medieval on her and bring out the chastity belt. Seriously if I had to choose I guess it would either Captain or perhaps Watts and Nicho but never ever Col Silvia. Although if she ever bought a Journalist home Col might be looking good.
  24. Wilson is clearly baiting the MFC and it's supporters with this article. She clearly has little left in the tank and is hoping to fan the story via ours and the clubs reaction. This is what the modern media has become, a grotesque parody of itself, inciting a story rather merely reporting one. To react would give the fire of hatred within her the oxygen it needs. Ignoring her and subsequently her relevance would hurt her far more. Her actions appear to be desperate and I would suggest that she knows the story is starting to die a natural death. Given her position if this were to happen her career would be irrevocably damaged. With this in mind we must understand that she will not let this story go lightly. We must react in a calm and considered manner that will not afford her avenues of attack. She has been throwing some wild haymakers in this fight but so far none have connected. Lets stay light on our feet.
