  1. He was a great player, but not exactly a great bloke!
  2. Block/shepherd for teammates, put in an effort for 4 quarters (not just one), find targets, don't handball to teammates under pressure, attempt to move the ball on quickly, don't just bomb the ball into the forward line (especially to 3-1 contests), don't handball to teammates' boots, improve clearance record, ruckman - actually tap to teammates, kick to teammates' advantage (not up and unders), kick goals rather than points (especially at critical times in matches), reduce incidence of fumbling and dropped marks, run both ways, run and spread to give teammates options, run and spread, run and spread, don't fly for marks against teammates in a position to mark... Need I go on?
  3. I read elsewhere that he knocked back Demons' offer.
  4. I agree with the comment about Melbourne players being scared to have a shot at goal, and in at least 2 instances in the last quarter they kept handballing it until the ball was turned over. At really critical times. Also, there was a centre bounce where we only had 3 players in the square. That's under 10s stuff!! Jones wasn't in the square. He is the captain FFS, he should have directed somewhere in there, or gone into the square himself. Or perhaps it was all part of a cunning plan (in the Baldrick mode). I get really frustrated with the large amounts money paid to god knows how many coaches, to supposedly develop players, who are just abysmal. As for the players themselves ... don't get me started!!!
  5. Hodge has always been a shocker. He is obviously a good player, but quite a sniper. I've never understood why he is regarded as such a top bloke, particularly by McAvaney et al.
  6. Yes, M. Jones just watched Bontempelli take a mark. Squibbed it.
  7. As usual, not much "luck" with injuries this season.
  8. He's a ripper. But he's missed a fair bit of footy, so I don't think we can expect too much from him for the rest of the season.
  9. I heard that story too - about Stef and that other person.
  10. I think he'll re-sign. He seems like a reasonable bloke. Hopefully he will repay the club for all the seasons the club supported him during his numerous injuries.
  11. Demons lost centre clearances 8 - 1 in the first quarter. VDB wasn't playing. Garlett hadn't had a touch. Why the hell wasn't he put in the centre square for a couple of the ball ups? He's done that before to good effect. (Yeah, yeah, the coach knows more than me!!!!)
  12. I presume that the was match against Adelaide? Where Travis Johnstone played a blinder? I was there.
  13. He's a great young player. Potentially an A grader, or at least B+. Just needs to improve his kicking on his right foot. (I presume he's working on that.) Then he would be complete!!
  14. He was an absolute freak. Absolutely unstoppable on his day. And not a flat track bully. He was just as likely to kick a bag against a top side as against a bottom side. I was privileged to see his short career.
  15. I'm in the "Grimes isn't very good" camp. Players who constantly fall over, lose their opponents, turn the ball over are just not up to it. Jack is obviously a ripper bloke, but he's been given plenty of chances (too many) so I can't see that there is any improvement left.
