  1. With the utmost respect, I think that’s a bit of a binary trap. There’s a fundamental distinction between being 'prepared' for an unfavourable outcome and being indifferent to the qualitative manner in which it occurs. To suggest that any critique of a performance constitutes a 'caveat' on acceptance is to dismiss the very nature of elite sports. Sport isn’t merely a spreadsheet of wins and losses; it’s a performance of intent and an execution of systems. One can be perfectly composed in the face of a defeat—accepting the four points are gone—while still identifying a performance that falls below the threshold of professional expectation. If we view every loss as identical, we lose the ability to distinguish between a team that is building toward something and a team that is experiencing a systemic collapse. Requiring a baseline of effort and tactical discipline isn't about 'conditional' acceptance; it’s about maintaining a standard. To conflate the two is to ignore the indicators that actually determine a club's long-term trajectory.
  2. I think peeps can accept losses ... I can. But there are losses ... and there are losses. And this falls into the latter category. Happy to elaborate if required.
  3. Let me add one ... Garry 'genuine sh#t bloke' Lyon's 'commentary'. Or to keep it simple, just Garry "genuine sh#t bloke' Lyon.
  4. I asked before the match "What could go wrong?" Having watched the match, I think the answer should have been "everything".
  5. Hmm, I'm not sure the Demons will win this.
  6. Apparently old mate (Lyon) was barracking for the filth during the commentary. Is that true? I only watched the last few minutes.
  7. Gomer Pyle summed up my feelings toward the Heave Hos ... "thank you, thank you, thank you!". I only watched the last few (joyous) minutes. Great to see the strutting peacock miss a shot for goal. Despite that, I presume he will still get 3 Brownlow votes?
  8. Are you serious?? You hate them more than the filth??
  9. That guy Wagner goes ok.
  10. Freo .... ahead!!! I hate the filth so much ... come on Freo!!
  11. What could possibly go wrong?
  12. I'm like GW ... I never bet on the Dees. If we lose, then I've lost twice. Having said that, I don't bet every round. And I hope I lose my money!!
  13. Sam Draper's haircut gives me nightmares.
  14. This is obviously a match we should win, however I just can't shake off my MFCSS ... ESPN.comEssendon pull off huge upset to hold off Melbourne DemonsEssendon have kicked clear in the last quarter for an outstanding 13-point win over Melbourne at the MCG.sydneyswans.com.auOn This Day: Losing streak endsThe ending came 26 years ago today, at about 4:45pm on Sunday afternoon, 27 June 1993, when the final siren at the SCG signified a 40-point Swans win over Melbourne.
  15. I caught the train home with Titus after a Dees' match last year. Chatted to him all the way ... he's a ripper bloke ...
  16. Not sure whether he is just a dead set moron, or too many head knocks. Perhaps both?
  17. Apologies for my absence at the G today. Family commitment (including ex wife 😵‍💫) I can't get out of ... can't say I'm looking forward to that.
  18. What could possibly go wrong?
  19. I just saw the end of Q1 ... terrible match. Port are very ordinary ... Richmond even worse.
  20. Crisp and De Goey say hi.
  21. For some reason, I don't mind Josh Daicos. Soz ... Also, does Triplechins not attend filth matches any more? Or is it simply the case that they don't film him being there?
  22. As Bert Newton said (about Mohammed Ali) ... "I like the boy".
