  1. Surely Neville Jetta should be omitted as well!! Perhaps Isaac Weetra?
  2. I agree that Lumumba is way better than Grimes and Garlo. Shame that the game has pretty much passed those fine foot soldiers by. (How's that for a corny line?) Forgive me if this has already been mentioned. But i think the team had over 400 possessions against Richmond. That is Geelongesque from their successful period. Only sides with really good skills can get away with that. It is otherwise overusing the ball, which is why there were so many turnovers. I'm really impressed with the young guys - Hunt & Wagner. The fact that the side is better, has some structure and a workable game plan makes it easier for young players to slot in. In the past it was almost impossible for young guys coming into a side that was poorly coached and was a complete rabble that expected to lose. An aside. I sat in the MCC members (I'm also a MFC member!!!) yesterday between some Tigers supporters. The guy on my right was really pleasant, and we had a nice chat before the game, and even during the first quarter. The guys on the other side were middle aged aggressive nasty loud unpleasant types. So unpleasant that I had to move at qtr time. I told them that I couldnt put up with their behaviour any longer. They were proud of their achievement, taunted me and high fived each other. As the match unfolded, I guess I had the last laugh. (PS. I presume the only real pleasure these bogans got for the rest of the game was watching Rance coward punching Watts; right up their alley.) Go Dees!!!
  3. I hate May for doing that. I hate Hodge; always been a sniper. I hate Long for assaulting Symonds. Don't get me wrong. I don't hate everyone. Just thugs and snipers.
  4. I put $200 on Norf when Sportsbet were offering juicy odds of $1.20. They've shortened to $1.16, and I think they'll shorten further the start of the match.
  5. I sent to both matches - the SF and Preliminary Final. I agree. Opportunity missed. I went to both 1988 + 2000 GFs. Never a chance in either.
  6. No comparison. Obviously. Here's what Max said after the Round 1 win. ___________________________________________________________________ While Gawn said the group was thrilled with the win, they must now maintain their momentum. “We won Round 1 last year as well and then we didn’t really go on with it. It’s all about the next few weeks and how we recover and what we do at training this week,” he said. “We want to go on with this. Obviously we’ve won three NAB games in a row, but that doesn’t really matter. It’s been a long time since we’ve won two or three AFL games in a row. “We we’ve got a couple of games coming up that will be testers.”
  7. No comparison between them. But Gibson has the advantage/luxury of playing in a well organised side surrounded by A graders. Garlo .... not so such!!
  8. I like Jack, and hope his improved form continues. I think he owes the Club more than vice versa. The Club has stuck by him even though he has underperformed for years. It would be very disappointing if he left, but I think that's unlikely.
  9. I also despair about grammar abuse. FFS, it's "should HAVE" not "should OF"!! A'po's'troph'e ab'u's'e is also rampant. Surely posters should realise that pronouns are apostrophe free zones!! And the number of times I have seen references to "Dee's". Dee's what? I've taken a sleeping tablet to calm myself down.
  10. Just like the Kray twins!! Well, perhaps the Kray twins were nicer!!!
  11. I agree. He's a ripper. Misses a few sitters though. (Relatively minor criticism.)
  12. I'm a Melbourne supporter so I'm expecting the worst. I've been called a pessimist, but I regard pessimists as well informed optimists.
  13. "The past is a foreign country; they do things differently there." The opening line from The Go Between, L.P. Hartley. I never miss an opportunity to trot that one out. And clearly readers of a football supporters' forum will be very receptive to that information.
  14. He was one of my favourite players. I've come across him a few times since his playing days. Not a very pleasant chap. Having said that I wish him no ill will.
  15. I was there. It was the only time I've ever been to the Western Oval. The atmosphere when the realisation hit home that Hawthorn pinched the win from Geelong was unbelievable. I've heard stories that complete strangers hugged each other. Quite true!!!
  16. He would be paid next to bugger all.
  17. I think the worse crime is having the stupid name Jobe. While the majority of the culpability rests with his parents, he could have changed his name. Having said that, I think he is a nice guy. Although I'm sick of his smart arsed father and his stupid simpering grin. Point of order. A poster said something along the lines that a criminal didn't get a say in his/her own sentence. Not totally true. A defendant gets to make a submission prior to sentencing.
  18. I'm so excited I just can't hide it I'm about to lose control And I think I like it. Well, tha't's what the Pointer Sisters reckon.
  19. With respect, a handful of examples doesn't exactly prove that. Need a much bigger sample size (Statistics 101)!! e.g. watching him over an entire season, or seasons. However, your perception is your reality. As is mine!! That's why we have these forums. It's nice if, despite disagreeing, we can all be nice to each other. We certainly are ad idem in hoping JW has a great 2016. One thing we all agree on is that he is a ripping bloke
