Demons are the team to beat in 2019: Champion Data
That is handy company our Clarrie is keeping; Dangerfield, Dusty, Fyfe and Franklin. Given it is over a two year period you would think even a marginal improvement in ‘19 would see him rated very close to #1

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
If Victoria Park is actually contaminated and potentially dangerous to the players health would that rule us out but the Bombers in?

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - COREY WAGNER
And isn’t the realisation that TMac may turn out to be a more valuable forward than Hogan just mind blowing. I know that are from the different draft years but I’m guessing there isn’t a recruiter in the land who would have looked at them both as 17 year olds and thought I prefer the uncoordinated kid from country Victoria. I appreciate it is an extreme case but it does highlight the unpredictable nature of the draft, particularly for talls

Training - Wednesday 21st November, 2018
An Austin Bradtke training update would be appreciated Saty What are his skills like? How tall now? I assume he is fairly athletic given his basketball background. Cheers in advance

Farewell Jesse Hogan
And doesn't he look ecstatic! I imagine it is how its meant to be but the further down the track, the less unhappy I am that he left

Phantom Drafts - 2018
Toby has a touch of the Matthew Whelans about him - hard to catch, neat kick and apparently likes to stick a tackle. There is also a physical resemblance. Sign him up

We’re going to win the Flag next year - what do you do when we do?
I normally enjoy reading your posts; they are often eloquent and thoughtful. This one not so.

You would never forgive yourself if you gave up the opportunity to be at the G to watch us win a flag.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
I know it is not the first time this sentiment has been expressed but the Club had decided before the end of the season that both parties would be better off if Jesse was to head back West. This is coming from an ex 20+ year employee and a life member of the MFC

Who will step up in 2019
Harmes really is the success story of 2018. Others who are in the 2nd to 3rd tier group of players at the club must be looking at him and thinking ‘if that bloke can do it there’s no reason I can’t’. Harmes and Brayshaw stepping up big time and made such a huge difference to the side. My two picks to step up in ‘19 are OMac. Will go into the season as a 23 year old with 60+ games under his belt who should have grown into his 198cm body. Depending on match ups and with Lever and May coming into the backline Oscar may find himself on the likes of Brown, Daniher, Cox and Hipwood or even forward on occasions where he often played as a junior. He has improved every year he has been with us and reckon he can go to another level Stretch. It probably is bit of a make or break year for Billy whose star has fallen as best mate’s ANB has risen. Stretch was playing the best footy of his short career before getting injured. Hopefully something had clicked and he will pick up that form again next year. You get the feeling he won’t die wondering and will prove his worth

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS
Max kicked 13.12 this season (thought it would be more) and has 51.40 over his career. Don’t know about set shots but can’t remember him having too many snaps or shots on the run

http://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/2018-10-23/media-conference-steven-may Thanks for that Ron. I went back and had a look again and you are right it is a ripper. Longer at 9 minutes and more in depth than your usual 3 minutes of cliches

2019 Fixture
A reasonable summary and explanation of the draw by Jake Niall https://www.watoday.com.au/sport/afl/afl-s-2019-fixture-punishes-clubs-as-much-as-it-helps-20181101-p50ddg.html

2019 Fixture
Yep playing the MND/Daniher match against Essendon seems the sensible and obvious thing to do. Could become as big as QB and Anzac Eve. I don’t know why it hasn’t happened as it benefits all parties.

Rating the 2013 Draft (afl.com)
Absolutely. We draft Kelly and then we perhaps win, or who knows lose, a couple of games and we end up with different picks down the track and we end up not picking Brayshaw or can’t upgrade to get Oliver. Very happy with where we are at. Having said that I would throw everything at getting Kelly next year. He is my favourite non Melbourne player

2019 Fixture
I suppose it is better to play Port Rnd 1 on a Saturday and get 40,000 rather than a Rnd 14 Sunday twilight match and get 23,000.

Rating the 2013 Draft (afl.com)
While we are on a Sheedy theme I was staying at a hotel close to the G a couple of years ago for the Anzac eve match. The next morning Sheedy was at breakfast (I assume for the Essendon V Pies match) and during which he was asked for his photo perhaps a dozen times. Each time he was polite and seemingly happy to give his time as his breakky was going cold. i have never been a Sheedy fan but he certainly went above and beyond for the fans in this instance

AFL.com.au Dees Best 22
I’m no great OMc fan but he generally got the oppositions best forward each week who invariably is the best contested mark. Also it doesn’t matter if you have the defensive capabilities of a combined Scarlett/Glen Jakovich/Nev Jetta you’ll still lose to a red hot Hawkins or a 7 foot American who is getting reasonable delivery Having said that it would be nice if O Mc was slightly faster, more agile and a bit more aggressive. At least he can work on the latter.

Bailey Williams
Agree with that sentiment. You watch the King kid (not sure which one, maybe both) vids and he is marking over kids who are six inches shorter. Chuck him next to an AFL defender and he is knackered. I suppose it is what separates the good from the bad talent spotters to work out which kid can translate it into a senior environment
-
Daniel Menzel
Get Menzel and make him a Alan Parsons Project. There is no argument the bloke can play and if comes free and we are scratching around for spots to fill, who knows, maybe we can teach him to defend vigorously. Otherwise he and Garlett can kick goals together with the wind at Casey. PS By Alan Parsons I mean Brendan McCartney

Jayden Hunt

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Freo kicked less goals than every other team this season bar Carlton and Gold Coast. And now an average midfield just got worse by losing it’s dual B & F winner. Jesse is going to miss the record number of inside 50’s that our mids supplied this year. It maybe worthwhile watching Freo games next year to see just how many games it will take for a Jesse body language meltdown.

2019 Fixture
I sort of hope we do play a West Coast, Collingwood or GWS early. They all have players go in for surgery and have about the same length of pre-season. Playing a Freo or Carlton early means they have had 3 extra weeks training on us, are up and about and are still thinking they may play finals.

2019 Fixture
Does anyone know the date the fixture is released. It has to be soon

Ely Smith
Murray Bushrangers mid whose stocks have risen throughout the year. Nightmare had him as a late pick in his May player focus but now expected to go around our picks in the 20’s http://www.espn.com/afl/story/_/id/23514891/afl-draft-chris-doerre-knightmare-contested-midfielders-rise A good size at 188cm and 86kg he tested very well at the draft combine winning the standing jump, top 5 placing in left and right running jump, 9th in the agility and 7th in the yo yo. As @spirit of norm smith said in the Bailey Williams thread Ely does have a touch of the Clayton Oliver’s about him. I know it counts for little but he also just looks like a footballer. Worth considering
