  1. Spargo makes good decisions. Invariably we are in a better position after he disposes the ball.
  2. Let’s face it the ‘no third man up’ rule has helped Gawn become the dominant ruckman that he is. This rule change has helped us immeasurably The 6-6-6 rule should also provide us with an advantage; dominant ruck to dominant mods. Perhaps that’s why we have recruited Pruess so that when Gawn has his six or so minutes a quarter resting we don’t lose much. A team that really gets on top at centre clearances could make for some seriously lop sided scores. Think the recruitment of May will benefit us with the new kick in rule. May is a lovely long and accurate kick that should provide opportunities for very quick transition. As Binman said there are bound to be unintended consequences but overall you would think these rule changes will generally be great for us.
  3. If you nailing your scrotum to a bull ant infested bench meant that no Melbourne players were involved in this rubbish I’d help you out and supply the hammer.
  4. Love that match up, ultimate one-on-one. Wonder who would have the upper hand? Nev by a whisker perhaps? Brilliant photo Dazzle, thanks
  5. Yeah I agree with that. Even though his disposal is sometimes deplorable the rest of him makes him an important member of the team
  6. Reserve matches to be played before the main game feels like bit of an antidote to AFLX
  7. I agree with almost everything you wrote aside from the vomiting on Tom Scully as if it was a bad thing.
  8. Yep sorry. Out of 280+ comments there was not one comment that supported this abortion of an idea that is AFLX https://mobile.twitter.com/AFL/status/1074212533379072000?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1074212533379072000&ref_url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.afl.com.au%2Fnews%2F2018-12-16%2Ffour-aflx-captains-reveal-their-team-logos
  9. A number of people in the AFL comments section have pointed out Dangerfield’s hypocrisy in all this. Of the 280+ comments when I saw it this morning there was not one in favour. Literally not one.
  10. This makes last years AFLX look like a genius idea. My only hope is that we offer not one player and then Dangerfield does a shoulder and we will see how long this [censored] concept lasts for. Imagine the uproar from Carlton if Cripps gets injured. You can handle injuries, just, if they are playing for your side but to have one in a ‘made-for-tv spectacular’ would be a travesty. My AFLX idea is to get the AFL executive each tied to a X and we could pick players (mine would be Sam Frost) and he can kick torps from 2m into said executive. You score by how close ball impacts nut. Just shows how out of touch the AFL is. This is [censored]!
  11. If Victoria Park is actually contaminated and potentially dangerous to the players health would that rule us out but the Bombers in?
  12. And doesn't he look ecstatic! I imagine it is how its meant to be but the further down the track, the less unhappy I am that he left
  13. I know it is not the first time this sentiment has been expressed but the Club had decided before the end of the season that both parties would be better off if Jesse was to head back West. This is coming from an ex 20+ year employee and a life member of the MFC
  14. Max kicked 13.12 this season (thought it would be more) and has 51.40 over his career. Don’t know about set shots but can’t remember him having too many snaps or shots on the run
  15. A reasonable summary and explanation of the draw by Jake Niall https://www.watoday.com.au/sport/afl/afl-s-2019-fixture-punishes-clubs-as-much-as-it-helps-20181101-p50ddg.html
  16. Yep playing the MND/Daniher match against Essendon seems the sensible and obvious thing to do. Could become as big as QB and Anzac Eve. I don’t know why it hasn’t happened as it benefits all parties.
  17. I suppose it is better to play Port Rnd 1 on a Saturday and get 40,000 rather than a Rnd 14 Sunday twilight match and get 23,000.
  18. And Petracca!
  19. Freo kicked less goals than every other team this season bar Carlton and Gold Coast. And now an average midfield just got worse by losing it’s dual B & F winner. Jesse is going to miss the record number of inside 50’s that our mids supplied this year. It maybe worthwhile watching Freo games next year to see just how many games it will take for a Jesse body language meltdown.
  20. I sort of hope we do play a West Coast, Collingwood or GWS early. They all have players go in for surgery and have about the same length of pre-season. Playing a Freo or Carlton early means they have had 3 extra weeks training on us, are up and about and are still thinking they may play finals.
  21. Does anyone know the date the fixture is released. It has to be soon
  22. This is where Sam has Jesse covered already. It used to frustrate me no end that for a supposedly super competitive bloke Hogan never bought full intensity to his tackling side. Hogan has never made this type of tackle Weid did on Dangerfield on the members wing (1.53)
  23. So potential leadership candidates are Jones Viney Gawn TMc Lewis Lever May and Jetta Thats almost half the starting side. It’s a nice situation to be in after being so bereft of any leaders not so long ago
  24. Im guessing the quote isn’t accurate as for some reason I can’t open the article but has Jesse just said he is happy to be home but doesn’t expect to play finals? Dockers supporters are going to be stoked to hear that.
  25. Given Preuss has come from another club should 37 go to Bradtke as the junior ruck?
