  1. 100 games, club best and fairest and one of those guys who are invaluable around the club when things aren’t going your way. Good on you Bernie.
  2. Im reminded of the champion team will beat a team of champions adage
  3. Who is the bloke sitting next to Simon Godfrey?
  4. It’s no doubt been explained but what’s with the retro looking jumper?
  5. As I’ve said before a Tiger supporting mate reckons it is now a pain in the bottom to go to Richmond games. No more just rocking up just before the first bounce. Requires much more planning. Just an aside but what if Demonland becomes too popular? Will there be a need for a Casey Demonland? Or perhaps go with a Demonland Premium? Demonland Black? Diamond Demonland? Or Demonland Elite?
  6. Weirdly I was actually barracking for your 44,444 pick to get up but can’t complain about 45,000+ What do you reckon, make the prelim this year and then get 50,000 members in 2019? Talk about becoming relevant again
  7. I can still picture Tim Lane asking after we thrashed Nth and the Swans “who is going to stop them?” The best of days
  8. Now that we have made the top 8 I can’t help but think our tough draw to finish the season will help us no end. Melbourne should be going into finals confident and battle hardened. Way better than Geelong finishing with Freo and the Suns
  9. Waleed seems like a perfectly reasonable human being to me but his opinion on AFL is no more valid than anyone’s on here. Strange.
  10. If Judd thought the players after-the-siren celebration was over the top he should have been at my place on Sunday..
  11. I know Petracca will play next week but after just watching the game again he was pretty bloody useless
  12. Oliver. Im surprised no one has mentioned him yet. Perhaps because he is consistently brilliant. He does things that just takes your breath away
  13. Supporter Syndrome (unknown number). Free to any other club but particularly if called Geelong. No longer used by current owner.
  14. Don’t worry Jaded we will win this one just so they can really ramp up the disappointment next week when they find some new an unusual way to just miss finals.
  15. I have been watching Melbourne play since the late 70’s. Over that time I have watched maybe 500 matches involving us and have honestly believed we got the better of the umpiring on maybe half a dozen times. This obviously can’t be right. I consider myself to be relatively level headed but I must a significant bias. Sometimes I’ve woken up after a match and fully expected to find headlines screaming for a Royal Commission into how shafted by the umpires the Dees were the day before. Nothing. Umpiring is an impossible job and I reckon it has got harder over the years. They have to strip the rules back to the basics to make it less subjective (as someone else on here has suggested).
  16. No idea what he is like as a person but his record is impressive As a player won the Carlton B & F in a Flag year Was generally regarded as a big loss when he left us as our midfield coach Shafted at Carlton as Senior Coach, taking them to finals after becoming coach from the sacked Denis Pagan. Finished with a winning record (60-59-1) something you’d imagine the current Carlton coach would kill for. Was assistant coach during the Hawthorn three peat and the current mini rebuild. Personally i I would love to have him back to the club.
  17. Nice bit of good news. Thanks
  18. To be fair I don’t think the Lever to Melbourne thing last year was exactly a secret nor our interest in Gaff to be playing in the red and blue next year. Both have been telegraphed
  19. That’s tragic And such a random stat that if the media get a hold of it that may prove they read Demonland
  20. I don’t follow the Eagles closely. Is he actually as important to them as Oliver to us? If so my desire to have him in red and blue next year just cranked up a couple of notches.
  21. Don’t we have the Crows second round pick (25) coming back to us too?
  22. Frosty V Buddy in two weeks time. The startled stallion V the lame legend.
  23. My dearest football wish is for the Dees to get on a roll and kick the Eagles out of 2nd spot at the end of Rnd 23 preferably on percentage by about a goal. My 2nd dearest footy wish is for Ess to miss finals.
  24. AFL.com article has Dangerfield overtaking Martin as the Leagues best player over a two year period mainly due to Martin going backwards. But they go onto to say.. "Looking at this season only, the best midfielder in the AFL is young Melbourne bull Clayton Oliver. Not only does he rank second among players in his position for average contested possessions (16.9), he is also fourth for average pressure points (61.5)." So is Oliver currently the best player in the comp? It would seem so.
