Farewell Jesse Hogan
True or not I think that was somehow picked up by supporters. Recently there was a thread on here about favourite players; Gawn, Oliver and Jetta were the favourite favourites but Hogan, our leading goal kicker at the time, hardly cracked a mention

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Supposedly he is best mates with Harmes. A couple of seasons ago it would have been hard to believe that James would be more important to our future success than Jesse.

Andrew Gaff
Agree. And he would compliment ours perfectly

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
Our last four winning games; Eagles in Perth, GWS, Geelong and Hawthorn we kept the opposition to an average 66 points. This is with a backline that we will add Lever to next year. We already know that he will improve us considerably. Adding May will cost a minimum of a top ten pick which I believe could be better used as opportunities arise. The worse case scenario is we end up with very good pick in a supposed super draft Furthermore if you were either Oscar or Frostie you would be seriously ‘exploring your options’. I appreciate I am in the minority here but I’m happy to pass on May unless he comes relatively cheaply which isn’t going to happen

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
Thanks for the info Jane. I must admit I don’t understand the need. Trading May in will require us to spend a fair bit of the capital we get from any Hogan trade, in terms of salary cap and picks, on yet another key defender (Lever, Frost, O Mac, Petty, Keilty) Yes May would improve our back six to a degree but at significant cost.

Post Match Discussion - Elimination Final
Chris Scott on AFL 360 had this to say about the Demons "I’m happier to say it now than pre-game but for a while we’ve been watching Melbourne and they could be the second best team in the competition. They comprehensively outplayed us. It will be interesting to see how they go because if they keep that style they will be a hard team to beat."

A fairly in depth article about Sam from the AFL site. Love that both his father and grandfather also made their finals debuts against the Cats. 100 games, club best and fairest and one of those guys who are invaluable around the club when things aren’t going your way. Good on you Bernie.

2018 Membership Thread
As I’ve said before a Tiger supporting mate reckons it is now a pain in the bottom to go to Richmond games. No more just rocking up just before the first bounce. Requires much more planning. Just an aside but what if Demonland becomes too popular? Will there be a need for a Casey Demonland? Or perhaps go with a Demonland Premium? Demonland Black? Diamond Demonland? Or Demonland Elite?

Weirdly I was actually barracking for your 44,444 pick to get up but can’t complain about 45,000+ What do you reckon, make the prelim this year and then get 50,000 members in 2019? Talk about becoming relevant again

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
My feelings exactly.

Andrew Gaff
Nice bit of good news. Thanks

Andrew Gaff
To be fair I don’t think the Lever to Melbourne thing last year was exactly a secret nor our interest in Gaff to be playing in the red and blue next year. Both have been telegraphed
-
When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
That’s tragic And such a random stat that if the media get a hold of it that may prove they read Demonland
-
Andrew Gaff
I don’t follow the Eagles closely. Is he actually as important to them as Oliver to us? If so my desire to have him in red and blue next year just cranked up a couple of notches.

2018 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Don’t we have the Crows second round pick (25) coming back to us too?

Darwin game dumped
And aside from the physical aspects of the Darwin trip the game itself is woeful to watch. Everyone talks about the importance of ‘brand’ and this game isn’t helping ours.

Delisting, Trade and FA discussion 2018
Agree. Whilst some of our backs are down on form, the All Australian back six would leak goals if the opposition are allowed to individually flood into their 50. Oscar ain’t the problem.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - AUSTIN BRADTKE
Austin has a younger brother (Jensen) who is 14 years old. If he is any good at football it’s about time he concentrated on basketball for a few years.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - AUSTIN BRADTKE
There was a photo on Demonland a while back of Mark Bradtke standing next to Max Gawn and it was the first time I’ve seen Max look ‘small’ in comparison to the the bloke standing next to him. Mark must be a huge man. I remember him being pretty mobile in his time too. Also very good to hear that Austin skills are already pretty good, that’s 80% of the battle with big blokes and given the athletic basketball background it’s not hard to get excited about him. An end of season taster debut Rnd 20, 2020?

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - AUSTIN BRADTKE
Very athletic and very tall. Could be the draft bargain of the century but either way there is very little down side..

Adelaide’s Tom Lynch
I don’t want him at Melbourne at all. But if he did come I’d want a camera trained on Tex the moment he is told that Lynch is buggering off to the Dees. Actually you may as well tell him about Sloane at the same time.
